I just checked our local gas prices (you can search yours too at http://www.gasbuddy.com/ -- US and Canada.)
Today the cheapest local price is $3.35 per gallon for regular and $3.57 for premium. :o
That site also says:
Average Prices USA:
Today 3.206

One Month ago 2.869

We are well above the nationwide average, which is typical for California.

Is that per litre or gallon?
Here in the UK, diesel is 96.9p per litre which is about £4.85 per gallon. Converted into $ thats $1.92 per litre or $9.60 per gallon.
Pretty darned expensive if you ask me!
-
Hi HLL,
Sorry, I forgot to put per gallon so I changed it!
Diesel fuel here is about $3.16 per gallon.

Mn $3.29 per gallon unleaded >:(

Oil goes up gas goes up.
Oil goes down gas goes up.
Wind blows from the west, gas goes up.
It rains in Russia the gas goes up.
The only bright spot was I seen Oil executives testify before Congress. Looked like the same bs that occurred with big tobacco. Now just hope it will catch up with them sooner or later like it did with the tobacco companies. >:D
-
When I filled up on Friday it was $3.65 a gallon for premium. I am in the process of buying a car that does not take premium! :-\
-
$3.03 regular Charlotte NC
-
Regular unleaded is 3.09 per gallon here near Pittsburgh PA.
-
We fluctuate so much from the beginning of the week to the end of the week. If I fill up before Wednesday mornings, at the moment I'm paying about $1.25 per litre (1 gallon = approx 3.8 litres I believe) - at the end of the week lately it's been almost $1.40, which is absolutely obscene and makes me really angry.
Now that I no longer tow a trailer (I used to have a mobile dog grooming business) I really should downsize my car, I don't NEED a 6 cylinder anymore.
-

Oh. Onlineconversion.com misled me! :D

$3.28/gallon in Washington, DC
-
Premium gas prices suck!
-
We're at $3.54 for regular in west Seattle.
-
Jumped up to $3.65/gallon for regular today...kinda screwed the people who were planning on filling up tomorrow - they usually wait until the Thursday before a holiday weekend to raise the prices.
-
They were picketing in front of the gas station I use on my way home from dialysis. I have no idea what for - the only sign I managed to read while dodging the traffic pile-up they were causing was "GO Anywhere Else." I was too busy trying not to get rear-ended by the guy behind me who was gawking at the protestors and not looking at my bumper stopped in front of him. I couldn't find anything on the news about it - so I'll just have to see if they are still there on Thursday so I can find out what all the fuss was about. I'm not sure what good protesting the prices in front of the gas station would do anyhow. . .
-
I was right about Wednesdays. The highest I saw today was $1.44 per litre. Ouch. Lucky I still have half a tank.
-
Today i filled up my tank and i paid 1 arm and 1 leg and had to promise my first born. :urcrazy;
-
I had to fill up yesterday on my way home from work and gas was $3.65 for regular. I just about crapped my pants when I saw that. Paying almost $60 for gas is ridiculous. I did however read an article in the paper yesterday that the reason gas prices in the midwest are so high is because several of the refineries that service the midwest have been damaged in one way or another and should be running full speed again sometime next month. They say once those refineries are back up to full speed we should see a decrease in gas prices.
-
Here's a slide show that gives you an idea of international gas prices:
What Gas Costs in Other Nations http://www.nbc5i.com/slideshow/news/13347000/detail.html?qs=;s=1;dm=ss;w=400&taf=dfw
-
wow- what a huge disparity in prices- I knew it was way more expensive in Europe, but I had no idea at the wide range of prices.
-
I was right about Wednesdays. The highest I saw today was $1.44 per litre. Ouch. Lucky I still have half a tank.
The price here (Pasadena, CA) is still close to what it was on Monday, but we'll see what happens as the 3-day Memorial Day weekend is approaching and typically many families take trips.
Regular gas is ranging from $3.33 to $3.59 per gallon, with premium about $.20 per gallon more, same with diesel.
-
heres a thought instead of filling up and warehousing the gas for the oil companies just go half a tank. Some people would have to get gas more frequently but at least your not paying high prices and storing it at the same time. Boxman55 maybe I'm nuts

Maybe I just don't get what your saying. If you only fill up with half a tank of gas and have to go back more often to get gas you are wasting more money that way for a few reasons.
1. You have to use gas to get to the gas station to get more gas when you could have just filled up in the first place.
2. Since gas prices are steady rising when you go to fill up again the gas is more expensive. You could fill up once and get a full tank for say $64.62if you have a 18 gallon tank and the price is $3.59 a gallon. Instead you fill up half the tank for $32.31($3.59 a gallon) and then go back the next time to get half a tank for say $32.85($3.65 a gallon) so you spend a total of $65.16. Yeah it's only $.54 more to do it that way, but that $.54 adds up and on top of it it also increases as the gas prices increase.
Makes no sense to me.

Well it's Friday and our local prices have stayed the same all week. That's good because I was expecting them to jump a bit. I am still glad I am not going anywhere. The roads were very crowded on my way home from lunch.
-
Its nothing but excuses from the gas companies.
Wholesale gas prices are actually down by over 5% for the month so far yet retail price of gas is up.
-
Ok, I drove to Omaha today and it totally sucked. Stupid drivers! ! ! (I'll explain the in a second)
I filled my tank in Lyons, 3.29 for unleaded plus. Drove about 2 hrs 30 mins, filled up again in Concordia, 3.19 for unleaded and unleaded plus. Continued to York, saw the prices and said, " F**k No, I have enough gas to get to Omaha"! The prices in York were 3.49 and higher...Hells NO! ! ! So that was my trip for today, just can't wait for sunday drive home. :sarcasm;
Oh wait....the stupid drivers remark. So I'm in Concordia, filled up at Caseys then pulled up to the front to wait for my grams. She gets in, we back out, giant white pickup backs out, I honk, rear of pick up on hood of my car. :banghead; This lady saw and came running up to the truck screaming :rant; "you hit that car". He said "no i didn't". He realized he did hit me, :oops; a nice dent by the passenger head light. Anyways I got his info and will report it to my insurace company on Tuesday. Bad weekend to be out!
-
sorry to hear about your hassles, tubes!
-
Well I pay 0 dollars for gas. Why? I take the bus or cab now around town and rent a car for out of town trips or go Greyhound. I'm finding it very easy to alter my lifestyle for less stress.
$22 per month for bus pass!
Worked out a deal with my driver that takes me to dialysis, i sign the slip for him to get paid even if i don't use him to take me home, then reserve that for when i need him on off days and this works out for me.
I live around the corner from a gas station and watch the prices change twice a day, what a rip off.
-
I usually get my gas at BJ's (warehouse club) which as of yesterday was 2.99 for the cheap stuff. Everywhere else in town the cheap stuff is ranging from 3.11-3.39. It's crazy. :urcrazy;
-
I guess I'm pretty lucky. I paid 2.77 over the weekend for gas. That's only because the 2 gas stations near my house are in a gas war with each other. I'm psyched for that, bring it on! The sucky thing about this though is that on Tuesday he went from 2.73 to 2.97 to 2.91 all in the same day! So, the guy with spike up the price and then slowly bring it down.
The norm around here is abou 2.95 - 3.20 a gallon.
Oh, this is in Mass. by the way.
-
it's running about 3.22 in the denver area
-
Because everything is highly regulated in California, we have a higher price than most of the nation. I live in Santa Rosa which is about 45 miles north of San Francisco. Lately I've been paying $3.45 to fill up my little Stacy TruckMobile. Over $50 for a fill up, but fortunately (is that the right word?) because I live 2 miles from work and 5 miles from Dialysis, it takes me some time to use a tank of gas.
-
Today: Cheapest in my neighborhood (Pasadena, CA) Regular $3.25 per gallon and Premium about 25 cents more per gallon. More likely to find Regular for $3.40 per gallon.

-
i bought $20 worth yesterday at 3.19 for unleaded plus.
here is a small update on my accident last friday.
the guy that hit me called me today and said; he didn't want to go through his insurance. also he had a witness that said i was the one moving and he wasn't and that he would give me $50 to end all this. what a load of crap, if he has his so called witness, then why would he offer me money. that guy is full of it and my car is going into the shop monday to find out the damages. and i'm gonna let his insurance company know the cost of repairs. i'm not letting him off that easy.
i'll update hopefully more next week. ;)

Gas station next to me is back down to $2.85, most likely tomorrow he will go down another .2 cents. This is so out of the norm for here. Most gas stations are at 3.00.

Today: Cheapest in my neighborhood (Pasadena, CA) Regular $3.09 per gallon and Premium about 25 cents more per gallon.

We saw $2.93 for regular, but 4th of July is coming! How is it that whatever drives up fuel prices always seems to be most prevalent around a holiday "weekend"?
-
:bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;...we are paying a low 2.85......and i am loving it...i am still broke...but its still not to bad

I paid 2.63 on Tuesday :yahoo; today it is 2.65. This is totally out of the norm for us, but there are 2 gas stations near us who are doing the price war, so we reap the benefits! Most other stations are around 2.85.

LOL...i know that jonn....i put $10 in yesterday so i could get to dialysis today...i have 6 bucks in my checking.... :'(
-
TOO MUCH. thats what I'm paying.
We got two cars and I'm spending 40-50 bucks each time i fill one of em up. I saw prices for 2.94 the other day and I jumped on it.
We just decided to get a Racetrak card. You get 10% off on the gas you purchase from them for the first 2 months, and after that its 2% off per gallon. And you get reward points for 1% of the purchase price. I figure it will add up and I might get enough reward points for a slushie one day.

I go through about $30 average per day in gas. $ 3.12/gal here.
I cut lawns so by the time I fill up the truck and the mowers it gets ridiculous.
Get this I traveled to Wooster OH from Wisconsin last week on my motorcycle and it cost me about $150 just in gas. That is crazy it used to cost $6-7 to fill my bike up now it's $15.
-
Here in Pennsylvania it is around $2.99 for regular unleaded. But if i venture out a bit i can get it for .10 cents less.

My brain isn't working right or you pay way to much for gas. 1L = .2641 U.S. Gallons
If my math is correct (a bit early for math ;D) you pay 24.98 a gallon
(94.6 x .2641) = $24.98

Hawkeye I think there are 4 liters to a gallon = $3.86 a gallon. I think!! But yesterday it went up to $1.06 a liter.

It was $3.03 at the BP by the hospital on my way home, so it is probably$2.99 at the less know gas stations in my area. But I use E-85 because, well I can and it is a lot cheaper for me to have enough gas for getting to and from school. But news this morning says it is going to be $100 a barrel soon, so gas is gonna skyrocket.

$3.32 for premium here right now

Depends which station you go to in town. There are several charging $2.86 for regular and others that are charging $3.20 for regular! Guess which ones are busier?
-
$3.30 today. UGH! :boxing;
-
I thought it was high here, were at 2.85, but that sounds cheap compared to 3.32
-
Petrol sure is going up again, but not as bad as it usually does when the US price per barrel goes up so significantly (due to our dollar being so strong atm, we're seeing less pain at the bowser - wish I could say the same for our mortgage interest rates!).
-
in the baltimore area between $2.85 to around $2.95 per gallon. it all depends where you go.

it won't be to long the govner wants to put a $1.00 tax on gas. thank god you don't live here right now. he wants to tax everything including going to the gym, getting your grass cut, going to the hair dresser or barber shop, it is crazy right now.
-
Yeah, but MD pays a lot less sales tax. You guys pay 5%, we're paying 7%. It stinks! Plus it takes longer to figure out! ::)
Update, 6 hours after I saw the $3,36 price, it went down to $3.15. An hour later, it went up to $3.19. And this was at the same station! I wish they'd figure it out. They just got a new electronic sign, and I think they're having a little too much fun with it. ;D Back when they had to manually change it and the gas prices were up near $4, every time someone would go on the ladder to change the sign, they'd get booed by the drivers sitting at the light! :rofl;
-
Lord help us all :bow;

md. sales tax is going up to 7 percent.

Petrol just hit the £1.00 per litre mark. $2.00 per litre Bloody scandalous!!!!
-
Close to $3.00; wheres my bike!!!
-
$3.24
-
It's $3.24 for the cheap stuff (well, the cheapest but whatever) and $3.54 for premium. It costs over $60 to fill up our Explorer but almost as much to fill up dh's Saab because he has to use Premium gas on his.....however, his is more fuel-efficient than mine. It does help that I don't drive much except to go to the gym, grocery store, and Costco. If my son didn't need a carseat, we'd be riding a bike!

In Newfoundland, Canada gas is about $1.20 a litre-over $5.00 a gallon I think (can't do conversion) . Our truck is diesel and that is about $1.20 as well. gets more mileage with diesel that gas. We get about 22 miles to the gallon with diesel in a supercab Dodge ram 2500!! We have oil wells off shore too!! Good for our economy with the high cost of oil but not so good when you go to the gas pumps!!!

I have a little Mitsubishi jeep. [Livecam knows it :yahoo;] A full tank from near empty costs just around $45. I am not sure of the exact cost per gallon or litre. i will check. I just drive up and put in whatever I can afford, usually. Except the gas station that I use have a kind of frequent user policy. If you put in $30 or more, you can ask for a receipt. When you collect 20 receipts you can take them it, they add them up, divide the total by 20 and give you that much gas free. i had it once and am now up to 11 receipts.

I am feeling really bad this afternoon. My back left wheel is wobbling. We went to the tyre place and had them tighten, but it is still wobbling. So I just put it down until I can afford to go to the garage with it. :( why am I feeling bad? My gas station chooses today for their big gas sale!!! 100 hundred customers are going to get free gas today, apart from the sale. And i can't benefit!!! >:( I feel like wobbling my way over there!

It didn't wobble when I wode in it..must be a new problem. Hey Bajanne, what can I do with the Barbados $20 bill in my wallet? We bought $13 worth of gas on Antigua with US $20 and got that as change. I now have my official sit on the right and drive on the left wings and my official Antigua drivers license which will be the subject of another post. We did return the car with no damage!
-
Are you sure it was a Barbados dollar bill or an Eastern Caribbean dollar bill? they use EC$ in Antigua and we use the BDS$ in Barbados.
The wobbling only started a day or two ago. I need to buy another tyre very soon, but for now, the jeep is just parked up.
-
We stopped and put gas on the freeway today (not at my Chevron) and we only paid $2.99 :clap; (hope my car can handle the cheap stuff for a bit) :popcorn;
-
A friend got me a new tyre (new to me) and my jeep is rolling again!
-
It's around $3.51 for unleaded here. The station across from the clinic I used to visit, the biggest price gouger in our city, is $3.90. Their premium is $4.09. :o
-
This is another site to find cheaper gas.
Just enter your zip code in the site below, and it tells you which gas stations have the cheapest
prices (and the highest) on gasoline in your zip code area. It's updated every evening. Be sure to scroll down after getting a map of your area.

If you don't know where the gas station is at, look for it on another map. I have found some errors on their map listings of local gas stations here. Gas stations that don't exist in the area they show, which should be located on a different part of the map. But it is a good comparison if you know the area. I use to use it when my old vehicle only took regular gas, but now my vehicle takes E-85 and only one station sells it close to me.
-
Right now I'm paying $3.69/gal and for diesel in one of my trucks I'm paying $4.26/gal
-
It takes 30.00 to get to the first line, it would be 150.00 if I had to fill it
-
Gas is now $4.25 a gallon (we use US currency here)
-
we paid $3.45 on wednesday. celebrated with tater tots from sonic. :sarcasm;
-
$3.49....I'm thinking of getting a camel to get around. :P
-
$3.52. We use a credit card that gives us 5% back on gas purchases and we use it only to buy gas. So we're not too concerned about the cost of gas right now. Plus, I do work from home and my classes are only an 8 minute drive from our house, and my husband's drive to work is only 15 minutes. We don't fill up too often thankfully.
-
3.59 a gallon here in Western PA.
-
Anywhere from $3.49 - $3.51 here in San Antonio, TX. That's for Regular Unleaded.
My husband makes his own bio-diesel from used cooking grease that he picks up from local restaraunts and he pays less than $1.00/gal (that includes the other ingredients). He is currently selling it for $3.30/gal to local farmers, truckers, etc. Plus, you get more miles to the gal. with bio-diesel. We're looking into getting me a diesel, as well.
-
We're paying about $4.65 US dollars per american gallon in Toronto ($1.20 per litre). It's higher I believe in Newfoundland and Vancouver and also in the north.
-
In my area of Southern California regular gas is ranging from $3.79 to $4.01 per gallon, with premium about $.20 per gallon more, same with diesel. :banghead;
-
Price shock. I filled the car last week and paid 3.44 gallon and today we took Len to the dentist and went by the station and it is now 3.65. How do they sleep at night?????
-

On large piles of money, I suspect. :-\

$3.46 here in NJ *Full serve (self-serve is illegal in NJ)
-
3.36 in Minnesota
-
an man walks into a convenient store and asks for $5.00 worth of gas
the clerk farts and hands him a receipt :o
-
ba-doom-bah.... :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
-
I paid 2.69 using my Giant Eagle Advantage card last Wed before I went to New Jersey. I paid 3.47 in New Jersey before I left Friday. I kind of got lost. I didn't mind it was a beautiful drive. But needed more gas to get home and paid 3.69 on the PA turnpike. I attempted to fill up again before I went to Pittsburgh but stopped at 40.00 Monday. It was 3.59.
By the way I love New Jersey. I like being waited on.
-
3.69
-
$4.50 now!!!! (or as my gas-station puts it - 4.499!)
-
$3.43 It just dropped yesterday from $3.52.
-
Holy crap! I had to get gas on my way back from class a few minutes ago, and gas shot up to $3.79 from $3.43 yesterday!!! Our area of Ohio usually has the cheapest gas around because we have a local oil refinery. What happened?! There must be trouble there. Yikes!! I only got half a tank in the hopes the price goes down a little before I need more.
-
$3.90 here in Michigan. Apparently, I need to bio-engineer a car that runs on milk - it's a lot cheaper a gallon.
-
It is now $4.09 where I get gas, lucky us in Illinois, were the highest in the US the news say's.
-
3.75 in Pennsylvania
-
I'm walking more :P
-
$3.68 in the bluegrass
-
Just glad I don't have to have diesel, that's close to $5.00 a gallon!
-
We were up to $3.95 here in Dayton until 2 days ago. It's down to $3.82 now.
-
It's now $4.65 (they say 4.649, if you please!). And there is no way I can cut down my movements because a public transport system is almost non-existent here. This country has a very high Gross National Product for a developing country, so almost everyone has transport. The only other option is a taxi and a 20 min journey costs $24.00!! AND I AIN'T WALKIN'!!!!!!!!!!
-
$3.79 and going up a penny or two every day. Does anyone else remember the gas rationing in the 70's? Only able to buy gas on odd or even days. Sitting in line for 2 hours waiting to get gas. And station after station closing because they had no gas. What are you doing different now to save gasoline? UPS says to plan your outings before you leave and make as many right turns as possible (do you errands in a circle). And it takes less gas to turn off the engine and then restart it than it does to let the engine idle. I think I am staying home! :rofl;
-
I paid $1.24 a litre this morning equaling $4.68 a gallon Canadian dollars or $4.72 US
It's predicted to go to at least $1.50 a litre this summer or $5.68 a gallon (CAN)
Unfortunately it will be hard for me to walk 1000Km (452M) a week so I have to stay bent over and keep taking it
-
$3.65 per gallon Full Serve in NJ. (Self serve is against the law in NJ, so all pumps are Full Serve)
-
Mikey;
Why is self-serve illegal in NJ? I've never heard of that before.
-
That is why I love driving through New Jersey!
-
$3.69 here :P :banghead;
-
$3.96 at the cheap station...$4.15 at Chevron..
-
$3.68 here. Kroger is most popular because you get 0.03 discount with Kroger Card and ten cents off for every $100 spent on groceries.
-
Uniballer-
New Jersey passed the law making it illegal to pump your own gas in 1949. At the time, legislators felt it was too dangerous to have untrained people dispensing such a flammable liquid. Oregon is the other state where it is illegal to pump your own gas. Because we have low gas taxes, our gas is cheaper than New York and Pennsylvania. Voters have repeatedly rejected initiatives to legalize self-serve in New Jersey.
Paris-
I remember the 70s and long lines/rationing. (yes I am OLD)
-
i haven't really paid any attention to prices since i got here last tuesday. however my mom paid $50 to fill her tank. YUCK!!!
-
We're paying the equivalent of $2.25 per litre in the UK (£1.14) diesel is even more expensive $2.46 (£1.25).... you couldn't send us a few tankers over could you!! :rofl;
-
hovers $1.45- $1.60 a litre,
someone else will have to work it out into gallons.
-
Ugh... it was $3.95 a gallon on friday. ... sat morning it was $4.11
Public transport is going up$0.25 to $0.50 a ride .. was in the news thursday..
That will make a hop on the bus $3.00...
Gonna get a bike with pedals :banghead;
Miami Florida

$4.19/gal gasoline
$4.85/gal Diesel
-
VA 3.85/gallon
-
$3.99 Dayton
-
Southern California: Today the cheapest local price is $3.96 per gallon for regular and $4.35 for premium.
-
Diesel here is $1.63 a litre here and gas is $1.45 a litre. Not sure what the conversion to gallons is. Just know it's a friggin lot. :banghead; We filled up our diesel truck on Sunday. It was over 1/2 full and cost $90.00 :thumbdown; Here's what I would like to say to the gas companies :sir ken; :clap;
-
It's $3.85 in Southern Maryland. What a rip off. :rant;
-
Gonna hate to see what the price is tomorrow. Haven't been out since Friday and I'm sure gas has gone up.
-
paid 3.83 today
-
Gas prices usually go down a bit after the Memorial Day weekend is over.
-
Here in the U.K. it`s expensive >:(
Hope my calculations are correct !!
43 Liters = 11.37 U.S. Gallons
cost in the U.K =£49 =$97.10
Which I THINK works out to $8.54 per U.S. Gallon
-
$3.89 today
Shoot, when gas was just over $3.00 I could barely afford groceries. Now that it's almost $4.00 I can't afford groceries or gas. Good thing I'm moving back home to stay with my mom for awhile. I can't wait to get back to Omaha.
-
Gas prices are outrageous. I am thinking I will purchase a motor scooter to tool to work on.
-
Paid $4.75 last night, but I think my regular gas station still has it at $4.649.
-
My husband thought about getting a scooter, but realized we wouldn't really save any money doing that. He figured that if you subtract the days it rains, it's too windy and mid-fall through mid-spring when it's too cold or dangerous to drive it (around here anyway), you're still left driving the regular vehicle a great deal of the time anyway. That's on top of paying a great deal for the scooter. So we nixed that idea.
-
Time to trade up to a Prius-hybrid -- 45 mpg.

I can't for the life of me think how to convert that into gallons :S
-
$5.26 per gallon=$1.39 per liter
-
thanks Mikey, gawd I guess I should be alot more ticked about gas prices then I am !!!
-
I drove by the gas station this morning - it was $4.01 for regular, and 7 hours later it was $4.06 per gallon! :-\
That's a 10 cent increase in 3 days.
-
It's hit $4.19 here over the holiday weekend, and never dropped back down.
-
Ours dropped back down to $3.89 once the Memorial Day weekend was over.
-
Depending on the gas station you go to it's anywhere from $4.20 to $4.40 a gallon.
-
Ours went up again after Memorial Day; now at $4.01.
-
Too much!
-
$4.19 here, but Chicago and all the Cook County taxes was $4.34 when I was in Chicago Wednesday
-
4.02 in Eastern PA
-
A more interesting question is "what MPG do you receive from you vehicle?"
-
I've been driving my Miata lately because it gets about 30 mpg. My Porsche gets 26 but requires premium. My F150 gets about 10 and is parked except for emergencies.
-
Just a note - I drove through San Rafael today and saw Gas for 4.82 :urcrazy;
I think I paid 4.12 last fill up about $52.00
-
50.00 dollars did not even fill the tank up. Oh my!
-
Today the cheapest I can find is $4.11 a gallon for regular. Most stations are closer to $4.30.
I have a suburban that holds 32 gallons. The gas mileage is about 12 mpg, but I am typically driving 6 to 8 people. Is it's just me I take the other car which gets about 22 mpg.
-

That's a good way of looking at the situation: how many people per miles per gallon.
-
Cheapest gas in town was at a Mobile station of all places at $4.06 a gallon. Highest in town was at BP at $4.17

-
Paid $3.69 a gallon for E-85 (can't wait for rebate in January!!), but regular gas varies across town. $4.18 is the highest with $4.06 the lowest. Glad I didn't get the vehicle I really wanted, it took Premium fuel, and I would be burning it up just to drive and enjoy it.
-
We paid $4.39 today at Costco for regular. Gulp!! Most other stations here are charging at least $4.45.

That's a 10 cent increase in 3 days.
Now it's 4.39 for the cheapest regular gas (Arco)
-
Way too much for gas.
-
i paid $3.95 when i filled up on tuesday.
-
I have to fill up today or I won't make it to work in the morning. :banghead; I have been holding off for as long as I could and driving as little as possible. Please let prices drop drastically before I get to the gas station. :bow; I'm really glad I got a new car that is much better on gas but if these prices keep going up it won't matter. It's just making me sick. :puke;
-
We're being squeezed here in Northern California paying 4.49 for regular unleaded. It was costing me $75 to fill up my little trucikmobile, but now that I have the scooter, I can fill up for under ten bucks.
-
Well the cheap gas that I would never put into my car because cars run like crap on it start at $4.11, $4.21, $4.31. The good stuff is $4.21, $4.31, $4.41.
-
The Kia runs on the cheap gas. Thank goodness, because my car takes PREMIUM! I just grin and bear it when I fill the tank.
-
Our gas stations seem to be holding steady at $3.95 a gallon. Highway robbery if you ask me. :banghead;
-
I dropped the kids at Disneyland today - gas was $4.89 for regular at the station by the park - sheesh! (I didn't buy it there, luckily I had enough to get home.)
-
$3.85 for regular full serve in Hackettstown, NJ. (Self-serve still illegal in NJ and OR)
-
$30.00 does not get me to the first notch
about $180.00 to fill it, I guess, I may never know
-
$3.85 for regular full serve in Hackettstown, NJ. (Self-serve still illegal in NJ and OR)
What? :o You can't pump your own gas because it is illegal in NJ. :urcrazy;
They need to get into the 21st Century
-
$3.89 here and all the stations have "pay at the pump". There is only one full service station in town.
-
$3.85 for regular full serve in Hackettstown, NJ. (Self-serve still illegal in NJ and OR)
What? :o You can't pump your own gas because it is illegal in NJ. :urcrazy;
They need to get into the 21st Century
it's also illegal in the state of oregon too. it gives people jobs. another "weird" thing oregon does. federal law doesn't cover people who receive tips under minimum wage. restaurant servers here in colorado make $2.10 per hour wages. in oregon state law covers servers under minimum wage which is higher than federal

Just to clarify though, people in NJ like full serve. Anyone in the legislature who tries to make a change gets in trouble.

Britain pays the highest fuel tax in Europe for petrolium that's why the price is so high. It is presently averaging about £1.16p a litre. That's approx $7.50 per US GALLON!!!
Add about 6% on that for Deisel.

Can't wait for the Chevrolet Volt in 2010.

$3.93/gallon Regular Unleaded Full-Serve in Hackettstown, NJ. (Self Serve still unlawful in NJ and we like it that way.)
-
$3.94 here and likely to stay there. Many stations here have the older style pumps and they won't go over $3.99. One station actually quit selling gas because he couldn't afford new pumps.
-
Coming home from the hospital in Chicago, the gas was $4.59 a gallon for regular. Betwen $4.06 and $4.17 a gallon near home on Friday.
-
Here it is $4.86, $4.90, $4.95. But when I think of it, we can't complain too much. We live on an island that is about 25 sq. miles. The longest trip is about 30 mins (if you don't double back!!), so we don't consume that much gas.
-
$3.79
-
$145.9 per liter
-
oops $1.45 per liter
-
recently it has been yo yoing up and down throughout the week, from $4.09 to $4.19. Then $4.13 to $4.11 within an hour ad now $4.05.
One strange week of gas prices :urcrazy;
-
It's still $3.94 and I'm still driving the Miata.
-
That's a fun car to drive. Small, but fun
-
Wal-Mart had regular for 3.77.

I splurged today and drove the Porsche to dialysis. I needed the adrenaline rush.

All throughout the day it has been one big yo yo effect on price. At 5 am this morning it was 4.09 a gallon, by 7 am it was 4.19 a gallon. Coming home from doc in Chicago was at 4.22 and a couple hours later back down to 4.17 a gallon. Someone is screwing with us!
Pick a price and keep it there!
-
the safeway (behind the house) was $3.99.9 at 5pm this afternoon. however here in colorado (and i don't know where else) the $17 i spent on groceries goes toward 10 cents off on gas. you get 10 cents off for every $100 you spend and you can spend the $100 in bits and pieces and if you accumulate $300 or 30 cents off you can use it for one purchase or 30 cents off each gallon of gas up to $100 in gas.
does any of that make sense?????
-

I know what you are talking about. Our two area main grocery stores do a similar thing. Safeway owns our Dominick's brand grocery store and has the usual 3 cents off of gas a gallon with your preferred card/member card/ or whatever they call it in your area, plus then they give some more off if you spend x amount on groceries. The other store gives out gas off coupons when you usually spend $100 or more in groceries and it is usually $5.00 off of gas purchase with $100 purchased in groceries.
-
::)
-
::)
I had to forward that one :rofl;
-
we only buy gas at safeway when we have 10 cents off. the station up the street was $3.84 tonight
-
The cheap stuff in San Francisco is $4.49. You can pay $4.75 at Chevron. I was just in NW Arkansas and filled up for $3.79 a gallon. I felt like I was getting a deal. Sheesh...
-
$5.75 here in Los Angeles, :banghead;
-
$4.29 here in Michigan now that the holiday weekend is over. Still enough to make me cringe when I fill the tank. I'm running errands in the nearby town where my clinic is at. It's one of the major shopping centers in the area - about an hour from where I live. I have a list of things to do for about half a dozen people while I'm there. No one wants to spend the gas to go if they can help it!
-
I bet the Canadians are thinking: "Look you spoiled Americans, just pay for the darn gas already! We have been paying outrageous prices for ages already!" Love you all! :canadaflag;
-

-
$4.35, but oil prices have gone down in the last two days for August supplies due to stock exchange idiots trying to make a profit according to AP news I read.
-
I've been buying premium gas for my scooter, so I've been paying $4.75 a gallon. I spent $15 on gas for the entire month of June when, with my truck, I would have paid $225. The money I'm saving now is going to scooter payments. I couldn't be happier parking Blue Devil and riding Rita everywhere I go.
The only problem now is I want more power. After I pay it off I'm thinking of trading up to a 250cc.
-
Woohoo! We're down to $4.41 for regular right now! Unfortunately, I don't have enough money to fill the tank, hehehe.

Waaayyy too darn much for gas around here! Hubby offered to hook a hose up and catch farts if it gets worse!
-
$4.01 for regular; I think premium is around $4.30, but those prices are at a wholesale membership club. The average is around $4.08 for regular.
-
It seems that the gas prices are hurting our local economy. Stephen was at a restaurant in Williamsburg, VA last night and he said it was unusually quiet. This was near Colonial Williamsburg, which is usually bustling this time of year.
-
We have a lot of Amish around here and they are not complaining. Sometimes I envy them.
-
We have a lot of Amish around here and they are not complaining. Sometimes I envy them.
I could never in my lifetime upon lifetimes be Amish... but yes, they are lucky at this moment for not having to care about gas prices... no envy here tho. :)
-
$4.40 for regular, down about 13 cents from a week ago.
-
The last time I paid it was $4.39 <sigh>
-
still 3.99 here
-
Was $4.39 where I was driving on Monday. Haven't been out today nor will I go out tomorrow. Thursday I have to go out so hopefully gas will be down after reading the news on the internet on how oil has taken a deep plunge in price in so many years.
-
$3.99 but now it's gone up to $4.03
-
Not as much as last week or the week before because I am trying hard not to drive as much. My son has to drive 66 miles a day to his team practice 5 days a week and then he goes to work in the other direction. He is carpooling when he can. It's enough to make me want a Prius.
-
down to 3.95
-
gas is supposed to go down 9 cents a liter this week. We burn diesel not sure how much the price of that is supposed to go down. Last trip to the tanks it was $1.69 a liter.

The price has been TDM- Too Darm Much and TDMM- Too damn damn much!

I will never understand why gas is so much.
I will never understand why the people don't all pull together and don't get gas for 1 day.
I will never understand how the people who make the prices get away with it.
-
I ran into an old friend today who owns several convenience stores/ gas stations. He is currently paying 3.62 a gallon for gas and it's selling for 3.95. With overhead, I doubt if he's getting rich.
-
Flip. that was in our paper recently about how much gas is to owners and what they selll it for. That is why they have the stores to bring in more money. They make more money off food, coffee, and other stuff sold in their store than gas.
-
I heard Cramer from Mad Money say gas is going to be in the $3.50 range soon. Yeehaaa what a bargain!
-
Exxon is selling off all their convenience stores in the next 2 years.
-
Gas went down around here this past week. I paid $3.99/gallon today (was $4.03 last week).
Flip, I love the new avatar. Nice legs :shy; -- don't tell Marvin I'm flirting with you, and don't tell RichardMel, either!

Our gas price dropped 30 cents this week :yahoo; Now it's $4.23 per gallon - OH What a bargain! :sarcasm;
-
$4.14 on the way home today.
-
we are paying a little less
my husband gets excited about 3.75/gallon

$4.12 this weekend for regular gas. I have to go to my usual gas station to get E-85 though so I can get a minimum of $300 back when I file in December for some federal and state rebate program.

I had to fill up yesterday and was thrilled to see it had dropped to $3.99, $4.09, $4.19. I never thought we would see prices below $4.00 again. That is so sad of a thing to say but it's true.
-
3.88 here on the Interstate 3.67.

I have only seen e-85 near Pittsburgh.

unleaded is back to $3.89/gal. I think it went down 7 cents or something last week.
-
Depends on which side of the river I'm on...in Ohio I can get it for as low as 3.66...here in Kentucky, it's at 3.89
-
In a 6 mile radius, the lowest is now $3.99. Elsewhere it is $4.01, even at BP of all places.
-
Yep, Kentucky raised the gasoline tax to help balance the state budget.....$3.88 here

We are down to 3.69 this week in some places.

Twirl, how did you get the image and save it to your computer? My technique of changing file and then choosing to open with...(different programs) did not work which means I need more information.

thanks for asking me

Saving to desktop is one problem. It should be saved to a folder called My Pictures, which is a Windows default folder if using Microsoft. Each email service is a little different, Yahoo ask at the bottom of the email if you would like to save or preview it, Hotmail, you have to go to the header and click on one of the underlined picture names or hold down the left mouse button to highlight the picture, then after passing the picture highlighted, right click and choose save picture as. Google Mail at the bottom ask if you want to open or save it, Comcast email, crap forgot. I have Comcast email and barely use it. I have to look at how Outlook handles picture saving, but lets find out which mail service you have and I can look there to see how you need to do it correctly.
Yes, photos have to have a certain file extension, such as .jpg. A .doc file is a document file such as Word 2003 and earlier. There are a few different file extensions used for pictures, but here you can only use certain types and a .jpg file extension is the most popular.

:thx; but still ???

i went by the "cheap" station on my way to lunch tuesday with xtreemoosetrax and it was down to $3.759. oh joy.
my sister got a $.90 discount per gallon at safeway the other day. she's been saving the 10 cent discounts up, she said the only depressing thought was she had apparently spent $900.00 on groceries since they started the program, whenever that was.

Just happened to reread this and found the one problem if you just want the pictures from the email. When you save the email, it is going to save the whole email and put it in a .doc file. The are so many different email type accounts out there and th way to just save the picture will be somewhat different. Which email service do you use? If I don't have it, I'll get it and take a look.

$3.64 today
-
Here in southern California the cheapest regular gas is $3.63 per gallon (Arco) - but the big stations like Chevron and Mobil are charging $3.87.
I like this trend! :cheer:
-
$3.77 as of yesterday
-
$3.55 today
-
We're still at $3.55 and thereabouts. So far I've seen no sudden spike due to Ike.
-
At the few stations where we can find gas, it's about $4.05/gallon. Problem is, so few have gas that there are lines three to five cars deep at every station that has it. I'm ok until probably Tuesday afternoon, then I'll need to fill up.
-
My local radio station played a little comedy blurb between songs the other morning. It went something like this. . .
*Sound of car engine shutting off, door opens and closes, clank of gas pump being lifted, while the driver yawns and mutters, "Let's see. . . *
Mechanical voice begins to speak -
"Select your payment option."
"Press 1 to pay at the pump."
"Press 2 to pay with credit card."
"Press 3 to mortgage your house."
"Press 4 to sell a kidney."
Driver says, "Ahhh, that's the one. . .
I nearly choked on my toothbrush laughing.
-
:rofl;
-
OK, so I've now sold three non-functioning kidneys to the owner of the local gas station (he doesn't know that these kidneys are only good as fish food, didn't want to insult anyone's pets here). And now gas prices are down. They had gone up to $1.36 a liter but yesterday we were looking at $1.13 a liter. We're lucky we have a fairly decent bus and subway system.
-
$3.39 yesterday

oops, it went up today. We're now up to $4.40/gallon. Not a problem, since none of the ten stations between home and work had any gas anyway.
-
$3.31 /gal. regular unleaded Full Serve in Hackettstown, NJ *(No self-serve by law in NJ and OR)
-
Today, gas jumped from 3.59 to 3.85 here near Pittsburgh PA.
-
We just traveled to Kansas and back and paid mostly between $3.45 and $3.99 a gallon. But, then there was this one town in Virginia, off I-81 where they wanted $4.99 a gallon. Very bizarre - all the stations in the town were the same.
-
I have no idea. I've been driving the Miata and haven't filled up since August 29th.
-
For up to the minute oil prices.

We are still having gas shortage issues in N.C. Hasn't returned to normal since Ike. During Ike it went up to around $5. It is now down to about $3.89. We have many stations with no gas and even more with just regular gas. All because of the pipeline that runs from Texas to the southeast. Absolutely crazy. My husband went to 6 stations on Wednesday before he found on with gas. We are told it will be better within two weeks. We are ready for a break!
-
strange Paris. There's plenty of gas in Virginia as far as I can tell.
-
Southern California - $3.40 for regular and $3.73 for premium - self serve - add 45 cents if you use a debit card at Arco. >:(

Just to clarify, that's 45 cents per purchase, no matter how much gas you get.
Arco only accepts debit cards or cash - no credit allowed.
-
Pelagia, is seems to be a limited area. The mountains have had an even bigger shortage. They trucked gas in from other areas for them. I was out today and passed three stations with regular gas only. We get our gas from the holding tanks in Greensboro. They get it directly from a pipeline from Texas. The same thing happened with Katrina. South Carolina and Georgia had similar problems, but I think they are better now. It is our turn! We need to figure out a better solution since there seems to be a pattern with every major storm. I did see one station down to $3.79 so maybe (I hope) we are headed in the right direction.

I've been seeing Smart Cars on the road lately.
-
Beth and I feel in love with the Smart cars in Paris. They are cute and supposedly, safe. My son has a Toyota Prias and he loves the gas mileage. It is stange to be riding, come to a stop sign and not hear the engine running. He gets around 45 around town. I am just leaving town until prices come down--Vegas here I come!!
-
For one day one of our gas stations - a Delta Petroleum - had a special appreciation day where gas was at $3.99. You should have seen lines that day. Traffic was backed up like crazy. i went there today and it was back to 4.69 which is still the lowest on the island!
-
While in Nebraska in Lincoln, it was 2.85 a gallon, come home and it's $3.41 a gallon >:( So E-85 gas is $2.91 a gallon. Can't wait for fuel tax rebate at the end of the year.. Here we can get a tax refund if you have either a Hybrid, Electric, E-85, or Clean Burning Diesel vehicle each year. Well untill a certain point when people buy more hybrid vehicles than normal ones.

I got it for 2.45 today
Virginia
-
Right about $2.55 in my neighborhood!
It figures that the price would now start to drop just after I dropped $25 for a locking gas cap! ::)
-
Do you see those tiny red spots on Okarol's map? That's us! We are still waiting for gas to go under $3. Some stations still don't have anything but regular. It is just stupid. My husband found "cheap" gas this morning for $3.09.
-
Anyone purchased home heating oil yet this season? We pre-bought ours and are locked in now at $3.99 a gallon. I know the prices tend to be a bit higher in Virginia relative to the NE because not as many folks heat with oil. But, with the gas prices dropping, I am just wondering. On the bright side, no matter what happens, I won't have to worry about my oil bill this winter...
We're out in the country and the only choices are electric, oil or propane. We opted for hot water baseboard heat when we put a new system into the main part of our old farm house. It was built in the 1800s and we thought forced hot air would create too many drafts. We have a heat pump for the addition.
-
We burn wood. oops!
:Kit n Stik; :Kit n Stik; :Kit n Stik;
-
Well, we have a wood stove too and it really comes in handy when the power goes out. Ours has a catalytic converter so it burns fairly clean. Nothing like a nice fire in the woodstove on a cold night. When it's cranked up in the winter we can cook on it too. The downside is that it's pretty hard to get the heat from the stove evenly distributed in the house. We have actually talked about sleeping in the room with the woodstove this winter, which wouldn't be that difficult since our son is away at college. We have loads of wood right now because we live on 5 acres and some of the older trees have gone down in the last couple of years

Gas was $3.29 here in Sacramento, CA today.

I paid $2.89 a gallon for gas at a Shell last night and they are usually one of the pricier gases. I was shocked to see the prices at $2.89 -> $3.09. Never thought it would get below $3 again.
-
According to OPEC we aren't paying enough. they want to slow production down to create more demand to make the prices higher. :thumbdown;

In the news today:
A report released Friday by the U.S. Department of Transportation showed the largest monthly decline in miles driven in 66 years.
In the month after gas prices peaked at $4.11 per gallon, Americans drove 5.6 percent less, or 15 billion fewer miles, in August 2008 compared with August 2007 the biggest single monthly decline since the data was first collected regularly in 1942.
Americans have drastically altered driving habits, if they are driving at all. They have cut discretionary trips, and are carpooling and using public transportation more.
From November through August, Americans drove 78.1 billion fewer miles than they did over the same 10-month period a year earlier. The decline is most evident in rural interstate travel where travel is down more than 4 percent compared with a 2 percent decline in urban miles traveled, according to the agency.
The Transportation Department said the biggest decline in driving was in Florida where miles traveled fell by 9.7 percent. Driving in the south Atlantic region, including Florida, fell 7.4 percent, the most of any region in the country.

Gasoline Prices Below $2 / Gallon in Parts of US
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Filed at 3:43 p.m. ET
HOUSTON (AP) -- Gasoline prices have fallen below $2 a gallon in some parts of the U.S. as the impact of plunging oil prices and reduced driving are finally taking hold.
In Ohio, the Web site GasBuddy.com, where consumers post prices they spot, said a few stations in the Cincinnati suburbs were now charging $1.99 for regular.
The national average for a gallon of regular fell 3 cents overnight to $2.668, according to auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. That's roughly a dollar less than what was paid just a month ago and 18 cents below year-ago prices.

Seems like another thread said gas was about $1.64 when Bush took office. At this rate it may actually be lower when he leaves. Since I started driving the Miata most of the time, I only fill up about once a month and seldom notice the price on a daily basis.
-
$2.47 - $2.59 a gallon depending on which paart of town your in here. E-85 now $2.09 so hopefully gas will be even lower on Monday when I can afford to get gas again. This E-85 gas rebate is gonna pay off when I file in December.
-
Paying $1.99 here , but my wife used our Fuel Perks card
(Discount for buying grociers) and was able to fill her tank for a low

Any body still have the Sunoco stations where you still can dial up your octane and at what price. I miss those stations...Boxman
-
I'll let you know on Monday when I buy gas. Thursday it was $2.59 where I usually buy my E-85 gas ($2.01). If I knew about it at the time, I could have gotten a rebate from the state for buying an E-85 powered vehicle, which would have meant and easy $3000, S.O.*! >:( Fuel Rebate I am going to get has come to roughly getting back $750 dollars. I do miss buying regular gas because of the higher octance and well better engine performance off the line ;D
-

We never had those stations were I lived growing up.
But if I had a 69 GTO, I'd be getting the highest Octane ;D >:D

Supply and demand! OPEC is working to get prices back up..
Oil prices up after record falls
Oil prices rose almost 3% on Friday - but falling demand pushed crude to its biggest monthly drop in October. US crude ended the month down 32% as demand continued to slow in the United States and other big oil users. Oil reached a record of $147 a barrel in July, but prices have since fallen by more than half. Members of the Opec oil cartel have called for more production cuts to boost prices - last week the cartel cut output by 1.5m barrels a day. Oil prices were helped on Friday by a share price rally on Wall Street, which eased some investors' concerns about demand in a slowing global economy.
Supply cuts
In New York, light sweet crude oil closed up $1.85 to $67.81 a barrel. Earlier in London, Brent crude rose $1.61 to $65.32 a barrel dollars. The price rises came amid signs that Opec was reducing supplies - in line with their agreement. Kuwait informed customers it was cutting crude supplies by 5% in November. Earlier in the week, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates told their customers they would receive less oil. But the world's biggest exporter, Saudi Arabia, has yet to inform its customers of any fresh curbs. Venezuela has said Opec should further cut oil output by another 1m barrels a day and set a minimum price target of $70 or $80 a barrel.

I'm hoping we can individually and collectively resist the urge to drive needlessly or mindlessly or to buy new wasteful gas-guzzling vehicles. When we have kids at the cottage who want to be hauled around the lake ALL day long, water skiing or tubing, behind the big boat we limit it and encourage more canoeing. We try to educate them about noise pollution, consideration for others, the wasting of resources, the health benefits of using human muscle power instead of "horsepower", the effects of gasoline and excessive wake on lakes (very detrimental to loons for example). We have never succumbed to the seadoo which I personally despise. I was hoping that the high gas prices would have a quietening effect on a couple of neighbours but alas they have more money than good sense and prefer turning cottage life into something like a buzzing mechanical marathon.
There is so much in life that I just don't understand and the issue of waste, just because one can, is right up there.

1.79 here, woohooo! However, the State of Massachusetts is in debt for billions of dollars, due to our wonderful Big Dig Project. One of the proposals to help pay for this massive, unecessary screw up is adding 11 cents a gallon to the gas tax. Lovely. Then I hope it is not done by some dimwit high school kid who doesn't really care about their job. Would defeat the purpose of this so called safty law.

It is $2.43 at our grocery store, but with our card we pay $2.33.
But that's in the Southeast where prices are far reduced from the rest of the country.

In houston the highest prices are in my neighborhood. That figures. I could drive 50 miles and get a nickel off...
I have a Chevron Ex employee discount... just a few cents though. Don't matter cause its too hot to drive anywhere....

We pay $163 a litre ... oh dear. Maths. One gallon is 3.79 litres so I think we're paying $6 a gallon. That's the equivalent of US$3.79
-
And of course I meant $1.63 not $163...
-
Buy Chevron and Exxon and smile when you pay it...
-
We paid $1.13 a liter tonight for gas!!! Pleased with my new Honda civic though - 433 km on $30 of gas (26.5 liters!!) Works out to about 6 liters/100km. (I think!!) Not sure what the conversion is to mpg.

Sadly I think we pay $6.29 a gallon here. One of you mathematical genius' can tell me if I'm right. We pay $1.66 per litre here and 3.79 litres is equivalent to one gallon. So you guys have REALLY cheap petrol! It's a bad side effect of living so far away I guess - costs a lot to get it here.

that wouldn't be me

$2.69 for BP

I believe we're right around $2.63 here in rural Ohio.

It's around 91p/litre here in the UK. That's equivalent to $5.74 a gallon.
Poor Hannify. The purchasing power of the NZ dollar is 14% under valued. That means that you pay 14% more for your petrol because the exchange rate is low.

:o wow. I thought "gas" used to be really cheap in america.
We're paying about $1.20 for petrol in Western Sydney. Which is about US$1.15?
Compared to us, it still is in many states. $1.20 per litre equates to approx $4.55 per US gallon ........ much more than the $2.65 Grammalady pays in Sth Denver.
(A$1.20 is US$1.23 - the Aussie dollar is currently worth more than the US dollar.)
ahhhh... litre, gallon.... petrol, gas.... it's those pesky intercontinental differences again ay? Get's you every time (unless you have a ute packed to the roof with EPO and snags, about to head off into the desert. Those guys don't get tripped up with petrol related intricacies)

If our fuel was priced the same as Grammalady's, we would only be paying about 75c per litre

I get confused in my calculations. Here in Oz we work in litres and, at present, in my neck of the woods a litre of unleaded is about $1.40. There's about 4 litres to the gallon, which makes our price about $5.60 per gallon. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! We have been warned that The current strife in the Middle East will result in price rise.
just read your post, Henry. I'm on the right track, then.
-
$3.53 was the cheapest I found it today in Michigan.
-
$3.49 SW Ohio >:(
-
$3.49 in Orlando, FL USA
-
$1.23 a litre. I think that's about $4.68 per US gallon. We all use too much gas in North America IMO.
-
$ 3.49 a gallon in Cleveland, Ohio this morning. Ouch!!!
For three years I drove my son to a great private school 45 minutes from home. Dropped him off and picked him up every day. That killed our budget for gas. Glad I'm not doing it anymore!
-
I last filled up on Thursday at a local Costco. $3.40/gal. I have seen prices around here (north of Seattle) be as high as $3.69/gal. This is for regular unleaded. A front page news story talked about a trucker paying $1000 for 240 gallons of diesel. That's where it's really going to hit us - the price of goods.
For anyone who is interested, Ed Schultz of msnbc is going to have a series on why gas prices are going up on his daily show, The Ed Schultz Show. He is on at 10pm EST. I think it will be interesting to see what he finds.

Yep, I worked it out at about $8 per US gallon in my part of the world (East Anglia, England). Blokey actually pays more but that's because he insists on getting Super Unleaded instead of normal unleaded. ;D
It's just a shame that we don't get mileage for dialysis like they do in other parts of the UK (we live thirty miles from dialysis ... grrr.)
-
Is that per litre or gallon?
Here in the UK, diesel is 96.9p per litre which is about £4.85 per gallon. Converted into $ thats $1.92 per litre or $9.60 per gallon.
Pretty darned expensive if you ask me!
-
It was $3.45 in Lowell, IN and when I got home to IL it was $3.79

DRILL BABY DRILL
No, actually I wish we could get this electric car or Biofuel thing going so we could tell foreign countries to SHOVE IT !!
:kiss;
-
My husband has been making biodiesel and using biodiesel for years now. Actually, now he collects the used cooking grease from restaurants, renders it and sells it to companies in Texas that make the biodiesel. He makes the biodiesel only when he needs it. But soon he'll be making it more and more because the farmers out here will buy from him for their equipment.
My next vehicle will be a diesel so that I can run biodiesel, too. His truck smells like french fries. :lol; Seriously.

$3.29 Here in Central Jersey.
it will only keep going up while the Middleeast is in chaos.
If we were to drill here they say the prices would drop almost immediately.
And we have plenty of oil. Where there is oil there is lots of Jobs.
We need jobs and oil?
Oh and the billions we send overseas to the people that wish to do us harm would be better spent here.

Are you allowed to pump your own gas in NJ?
-
No it is illegal LOL.
But it isnt enforced. If the pumps are busy i have pumped my own gas. But the gas attendent has to turn the pump on.
-
$1.23/litre in ontario, so $4.66/gallon
-
Are you allowed to pump your own gas in NJ?
No it is illegal LOL.
I was so sure this was a joke that I went to Google and started typing 'is it illegal to pump ...' whereupon Google finished it for me with ' ... your own gas in New Jersey.'
I learnt something new today (and thanks for the giggle! < I'm easily amused, obviously.)
;D
-
In Oregon they are not allowed to pump their own gas, so when they venture up to Washington State it is funny watching them get out of their cars and read all the directions on how to do it!!! :rofl;
Talk about easy entertainment.....

Still $3.49 a gallon close to home while others have raised their price which is odd since BP has lowered theirs a few cents :urcrazy;
-
Yeah thats bizarre!
Hmm, sure is expensive, esp considering our Monty is a bit thirsty! We do love her though.. ::)
-
Cheapest gas near us - Los Angeles - $3.87 per gallon for regular.

First started driving at .55 cents, now driving at 3.89
-
Cheapest is $3.99 and most expensive is $4.05 in my area.
-
TOO Much
Here in Ontario, Canada, it's $1.30 per Litre!
-
Just trying o think of the conversion factor for liter to gallons, just makes me cringe to think it is going to be high!
-
It's supposed to get worse this summer :thumbdown; :thumbdown; :thumbdown; Provinces in Canada are being told our gas will go up to $2 per litre by the time summer rolls around :'( :o
-
I had heard that Canada is paying more for gas than the U.S. I might be wrong, but I think I heard even the UK is getting hit harder than the US right now. Canada is paying roughly $5.00 to a US gallon.
Anyways, Chris, here's roughly the conversion for you.........
There are 3.785 litres per 1 US gallon.
So, to do the math to convert your fuel price.
$1.28CDN/litre x 3.785(L to gal) = $4.845CDN
$4.845CDN x 0.9909(exch. rate) = $4.80USD/gal.
-
Even without the conversion factor, that is what I about figured it would be. Maybe due to past math classes, kg to pounds for dialysis, or just pot luck, I just can not remember. I wish there was a pill for intelligence to help remember like there was in the movie Limitless. ;D
-
LOL ;D Chris.
There is 2.2 kg's to 1 pound.
-
I was taught it was 2.205 pounds to 1 kg, but of course that leads to a long strung out number that you have to round up. However that said, I always do the 2.2 in my head when converting :rofl; it's faster and easier.
-
.
-
whoops, my bad! I didn't even think about that little nugget after reading and posting reply.
-
I might be wrong, but I think I heard even the UK is getting hit harder than the US right now.
I think we're always hardest hit when it comes to petrol! Currently petrol is about £1.35 per litre. This is equal to $8.44 per US gallon with today's conversion rate. I have heard that the petrol we get over here is superior so it balances out, but I don't know if that's true.
-
I have heard that the petrol we get over here is superior so it balances out, but I don't know if that's true.
Sounds like spin to me!
I usually fill up by paying at the pump with my debit card. All the pumps have a $75 limit for purchases using the card at the pump. Anyone who wants to charge more than $75 at a time has to shut down the pump and start a new transaction. Time consuming and not so thrilling when it's a Michigan winter, so lots of people with big tanks don't bother to top off.
Of course, that didn't affect very many people when gas was under $3 a gallon. It's almost $4 now and supposed to hit $5 or more this summer. At that point, even my little wagon won't get a full fill from an empty tank without starting a new transaction, and I've a got a pretty standard tank size. Makes me wonder how that will effect the gas station profits if no one ever spends the last few bucks and just keeps moving on to the next station when it's time to fill again.
I suppose the sure sign that the $5 and up prices are here to stay will be when they raise the limit to $100.
-
I am stubborn, even with price over four dollars, I will not put more than $40.00 in the tank at time. I pay premium prices, too. I drive a sportscar.
-
$4.29 is the highest in my area, $4.09 in most for regular gas.Highest I have put is $60 and still not a full tank >:(
-
Gas prices here in So. Calif. went up $1.00 over the last 90 days.
Here's the US price map from gasbuddy.com
-
I drive a Mazda3 and fill up at the half tank or somewhere between half and 3/4'ths. That way, I fill 'er up and get the most miles I can out of the tank w/o having to "spend" as much at one time. I don't know if it's my imagination, but I always feel like I get better gas mileage in the first half a tank and not the 2nd half. I went on a road trip last summer and that's the mantra I stuck to. Sure, that meant more stops, but that was okay, I had to use the bathroom anyway!
I also found a service station near my work that does only full service, and it doesn't cost more. Pretty nice when you have a healing fistula on one side of you, and a healing tunnel cath on the other! However, what I thought was strange is right across the street from it is a no-name mini-mart that was advertising gas for $2.99/gal! I was like WHAT??? I still need to find out what exactly is going on there... Prices around here are now over $4 for reg unleaded.

About $4.25 here in southern cali, but more in the "richer" neighborhoods near west LA.
-
Here in CT, I paid $4.25 per gallon, however, that was hunting for cheaper gas. There was a place closer to home charging $4.54 that I decided wasn't worth it. This is regular gas. Thankfully my car doesn't mind it!

It was 115.9 cents per litre here the last time I checked. Our gas prices on PEI are regulated, and go up or down depending on world prices on the 1st and 15th of every month. We kinda knew that furnace oil prices were going to go down, cuz all the oil trucks were in the neighborhood on the 31st topping people up before the price went down at midnight.

Regular gas in Los Angeles:

Mobil and Chevron - $4.57
Here's a map of the nationwide prices (from http://www.losangelesgasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx)

Wow that's high. I'm in Little Rock Ark. Gas is $3.89 at Exxon and shell stations
-
Ours went down, at BP it is now $4.31 as I walked the dog today and my dad paid $4.19 (cheapest in area), however I am sure it is more expensive if I had to go into Chicago to buy gas
-
Cut the wingeing and moaning - In Melbourne we have been paying between $5.30 and $5.70 for months. That's the Aussie dollar, too. It's higher than the US at the moment. Gas would probably be much higher than that in country areas, too

Gas is very expensive where I live. It's daylight robbery, really. I'm in Ontario, Canada. I have no idea what that converts to the American dollar.
-
The average in England at the moment is £1.47 per litre. This equates to £5.56 per American gallon, which is $8.90 at the current conversion rate.
I think we win?!
However, we did get it for only £1.39 last week at Tesco ($8.32) ... and we're having panic buying at the forecourts due to the threat of tanker drivers going on strike so somebody somewhere is rubbing their hands in glee and getting very rich.
;D

Near my house it's around $3.69 for Regular. We try and use Safeway fuel rewards when possible. Safeway's starting price is $3.63 for regular and is a ways down the road. And we can usually get $1.00 off of that. Safeway gives double fuel rewards for gift cards. And until Sept 10th I have a special offer added to my Safeway card that gives us 5x fuel rewards for the purchase of gift cards. I have a Kindle and an iPhone plus I use a Starbucks gift card to pay and hubby plays a game that he uses a gift card to pay. So, we buy a lot of gift cards. It's easier to control when you don't use your credit card to pay for stuff like that. lol Which is why we usually get $1.00 (the max you can use at one time) off of our gas. We're South of Seattle, WA.
-
Our gas prices have actually gone down, which is nice for a change. It's about $3.67 for the cheapest near here.

I went to get gas yesterday morning and The sign said $2.789 but the pump said $3.789. I looked like 6 times before I went in and told the lady and she about crapped and said "Oh my... let me fix that..." She initialized the pump and it came up $2.789. I wonder how many people by 10:30 in the morning they ripped off!

Mid-Missouri still around $2.25, give or take.
News the other day quoted oil at $42 a barrel. And no one has any plans to reduce production.
Gas prices should be falling a LOT if this continues.
I'm hoping. Since Retired/Disabled I don't have to drive miles daily to work and back, but 3 acres of yard that's going to turn green very soon. Gramma will be nagging at me about every 4 or 5 days to get out there and cut. Oh, and be sure you weed wack around ALL the trees, drive, her concrete benches and stuff, 100 yards of the ditch along the roadway. She doesn't have a clue how tired I get!
Maybe we should move into an apartment. That ain't NEVER going to happen. I'd go stark raving mad. Cramped in. Where would I park my Harley, the El Camino. son's Impala, my extra AWD Astro, three garden tractors, huge red toolboxes, all the chainsaws, weed-wackers, generators, and assorted other large tools that won't fit into any box? You know, typical Guy toys.
