i went by the "cheap" station on my way to lunch tuesday with xtreemoosetrax and it was down to $3.759. oh joy.

my sister got a $.90 discount per gallon at safeway the other day. she's been saving the 10 cent discounts up, she said the only depressing thought was she had apparently spent $900.00 on groceries since they started the program, whenever that was.

Just happened to reread this and found the one problem if you just want the pictures from the email. When you save the email, it is going to save the whole email and put it in a .doc file. The are so many different email type accounts out there and th way to just save the picture will be somewhat different. Which email service do you use? If I don't have it, I'll get it and take a look.

Here in southern California the cheapest regular gas is $3.63 per gallon (Arco) - but the big stations like Chevron and Mobil are charging $3.87.

I like this trend!  :cheer:

We're still at $3.55 and thereabouts.  So far I've seen no sudden spike due to Ike.

At the few stations where we can find gas, it's about $4.05/gallon. Problem is, so few have gas that there are lines three to five cars deep at every station that has it. I'm ok until probably Tuesday afternoon, then I'll need to fill up.

My local radio station played a little comedy blurb between songs the other morning.  It went something like this. . .

*Sound of car engine shutting off, door opens and closes, clank of gas pump being lifted, while the driver yawns and mutters, "Let's see. . . *
Mechanical voice begins to speak -
"Select your payment option."
"Press 1 to pay at the pump."
"Press 2 to pay with credit card."
"Press 3 to mortgage your house."
"Press 4 to sell a kidney."
Driver says, "Ahhh, that's the one. . .

I nearly choked on my toothbrush laughing.

OK, so I've now sold three non-functioning kidneys to the owner of the local gas station (he doesn't know that these kidneys are only good as fish food, didn't want to insult anyone's pets here).  And now gas prices are down.  They had gone up to $1.36 a liter but yesterday we were looking at $1.13 a liter.  We're lucky we have a fairly decent bus and subway system.

oops, it went up today. We're now up to $4.40/gallon. Not a problem, since none of the ten stations between home and work had any gas anyway.
