$3.94 here and likely to stay there. Many stations here have the older style pumps and they won't go over $3.99. One station actually quit selling gas because he couldn't afford new pumps.

Here it is $4.86, $4.90, $4.95.  But when I think of it, we can't complain too much.  We live on an island that is about 25 sq. miles. The longest trip is about 30 mins (if you don't double back!!), so we don't consume that much gas.

Cheapest near here is $4.47 per gallon for regular. I am combining trips and errands and trying to drive as little as possible.  :-\

All throughout the day it has been one big yo yo effect on price. At 5 am this morning it was 4.09 a gallon, by 7 am it was 4.19 a gallon. Coming home from doc in Chicago was at 4.22 and a couple hours later back down to 4.17 a gallon. Someone is screwing with us!
Pick a price and keep it there!

the safeway (behind the house) was $3.99.9 at 5pm this afternoon. however here in colorado (and i don't know where else) the $17 i spent on groceries goes toward 10 cents off on gas. you get 10 cents off for every $100 you spend and you can spend the $100 in bits and pieces and if you accumulate $300 or 30 cents off you can use it for one purchase or 30 cents off each gallon of gas up to $100 in gas.

does any of that make sense?????

I know what you are talking about. Our two area main grocery stores do a similar thing. Safeway owns our Dominick's brand grocery store and has the usual 3 cents off of gas a gallon with your preferred card/member card/ or whatever they call it in your area, plus then they give some more off if you spend x amount on groceries. The other store gives out gas off coupons when you usually spend $100 or more in groceries and it is usually $5.00 off of gas purchase with $100 purchased in groceries.
