I get confused in my calculations. Here in Oz we work in litres and, at present, in my neck of the woods a litre of unleaded is about $1.40. There's about 4 litres to the gallon, which makes our price about $5.60 per gallon. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! We have been warned that The current strife in the Middle East will result in price rise.

just read your post, Henry. I'm on the right track, then.

$1.23 a litre.  I think that's about $4.68 per US gallon.   We all use too much gas in North America IMO.

$ 3.49 a gallon in Cleveland, Ohio this morning.  Ouch!!!

For three years I drove my son to a great private school 45 minutes from home.  Dropped him off and picked him up  every day.  That killed our budget for gas.  Glad I'm not doing it anymore!

I last filled up on Thursday at a local Costco.  $3.40/gal.  I have seen prices around here (north of Seattle) be as high as $3.69/gal.  This is for regular unleaded.  A front page news story talked about a trucker paying $1000 for 240 gallons of diesel.  That's where it's really going to hit us - the price of goods.

For anyone who is interested, Ed Schultz of msnbc is going to have a series on why gas prices are going up on his daily show, The Ed Schultz Show.  He is on at 10pm EST.  I think it will be interesting to see what he finds.

Yep, I worked it out at about $8 per US gallon in my part of the world (East Anglia, England).  Blokey actually pays more but that's because he insists on getting Super Unleaded instead of normal unleaded.  ;D

It's just a shame that we don't get mileage for dialysis like they do in other parts of the UK (we live thirty miles from dialysis ... grrr.)

Is that per litre or gallon?

Here in the UK, diesel is 96.9p per litre which is about £4.85 per gallon. Converted into $ thats $1.92 per litre or $9.60 per gallon.

Pretty darned expensive if you ask me!

My husband has been making biodiesel and using biodiesel for years now.  Actually, now he collects the used cooking grease from restaurants, renders it and sells it to companies in Texas that make the biodiesel.  He makes the biodiesel only when he needs it.  But soon he'll be making it more and more because the farmers out here will buy from him for their equipment.

My next vehicle will be a diesel so that I can run biodiesel, too.  His truck smells like french fries.    :lol;   Seriously.

$3.29  Here in Central Jersey.

it will only keep going up while the Middleeast is in chaos.

If we were to drill here they say the prices would drop almost immediately.
And we have plenty of oil.  Where there is oil there is lots of Jobs.
We need jobs and oil?

Oh and the billions we send overseas to the people that wish to do us harm would be better spent here.

No it is illegal  LOL.
I was so sure this was a joke that I went to Google and started typing 'is it illegal to pump ...' whereupon Google finished it for me with ' ... your own gas in New Jersey.'

I learnt something new today (and thanks for the giggle! < I'm easily amused, obviously.)

In Oregon they are not allowed to pump their own gas, so when they venture up to Washington State it is funny watching them get out of their cars and read all the directions on how to do it!!!   :rofl;

I paid $3.49 a gallon in Shorewood, IL. I use gas buddy app on smartphone to help find low gas prices in area or by town. You can also check gas prices online with gas buddy.
