I am about to ring Baxters to organise my bags to get sent to Samoa for my trip in August.  Yeehar!  How exciting.  This will be my 3rd o/s trip since starting D.  I've travelled more since I got sick than before.  Funny how it gives you a new perspective on what's important eh?

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

I just got off the phone with Matthews best friend from Cali.  He is comming for the 4th of July and gonna stay till the 8th. Yey.  Matthew has no clue, and if all goes well then he won't know until he comes home that day and sees Bryan sitting on the couch.  Bryan and I have been working on this suprise for months. Its set! I think we are gonna pull if off. Yey!  :beer1; :yahoo;

My very positive positive is that I had a delightful day with my granddaughter. We did crafts while Carl was on dialysis, went to the grocery store where we had to completely restock the food pantry and she did not complain and even helped bag. The afternoon was the hardest for her. It got very hot and she really wanted to get in the pool, but Carl was still working on it. But we went out and worked on getting the deck cleaned up. A quick swim after dinner and then off to bed.

Well, that picture is about 6 or 7 years old, I think. I was trying to go back and figure it out. My mother died 8 years ago and the picture was taken a year or two after she died. I particularly like that picture as it was taken by a friend who has since died. It helps me still feel connected to him.

I married young, but I've been married to the same wonderful man for 40 years now. My daughter is turning 35 later this summer. My granddaughters are 6 (Willow) and 1 as of last Sunday (Wren). Thus my screen name: Willowtreewren.

Now you know!  :2thumbsup;

Your trip to Samoa sounds exciting! One of my former parents at school was from Samoa. Beautiful lady.

Fabulous day with dear granddaughter. Drove through the Smoky Mountains with a stop at the visitor center for a picnic lunch. Then on to Gatlinburg and the Aquarium. This was a the PERFECT age for our granddaughter to visit the Aquarium. She was enthralled with the whole thing, especially watching the sharks swim overhead.

But the best part was listening to her tell her mom all about what she did today. I was able to see it through her eyes.  :2thumbsup;

No Alete, that's not me in the avitar.  lol   I doubt I'll ever be a major religious figure.  Although one year I wanted to be a gospel singer.   That didn't last.

My first day of summer vacation. It was spent relaxing, watching TV and talking to the Gardner with hubby. Money is going to be spent on the yard so it looks better than it does. I will take before and after pics.

Went past the festival where my craft booth is tomorrow - they have a whole carnival set up, even a ferris wheel!  Now, if the rain holds off, it should be a good day for selling my tote bags and purses.

I stopped at the gift shop where my friend has been selling some of my bags for me.  I was going to take a dozen of them with me to bulk out my stock at the craft show.  I only ended up taking 4 home.  Out of the 20 I'd left with her, she'd sold enough of them that taking any more would have left her purse display barren!   :cheer:

Wheee!  I love it when people buy things I've made!  It's such a compliment - that they are willing to spend their hard earned money on my creation.  Very gratifying!

Congrats JB! Post photos of your bags!

I had some good luck.An interior designer saw one of my photos on flickr, contacted me to buy (actually make a high definition print) for a client to hang in his office. Instead of money I asked that they make me the same print as payment. It was delivered yesterday - turned out great - so now I need to frame it! My first EVER photo sale!!

How do you celebrate? When my kids were little we celebrated mid-summers night by putting out a tiny picnic of fruit and sweets for the fairies. In the morning the tea cups were turned over and food gone - the kids were sure the fairies had eaten everything (no doubt some raccoon instead) and each child got a little gift from the fairy queen.

Congrats jbeany and okarol!!!  I got 3 lawns mowed tonight!!!  Yippee.  Looks a lot better now.  In some parts of the lawn the grass was up to my knees.

One of the teachers at school dropped by this afternoon with her "little" granddaughter. She is 2 mths old now but was 10 weeks premature (her due date was yesterday!!!) .  She is so tiny - 2 mths old and only a little over 6 lbs!!!  She looks like a little doll!!!

Your celebration sounds lovely. Ours is just a big party! Pot-luck with mucho good food. We put out badminton, bocce, and bubbles for the kids. I have whirl-gig helicopter toys, too. and swimming and lots of great conversation. I have ice cream sandwiches for when the evening wears on, but I imagine there will be gooey brownies, too. It is just a blast.  :clap;

Today's positive - it didn't rain on the parade.  I mean that literally.The Heritage Festival included a parade at 1, complete with the local fire department and the high school marching band.  The local troupe of bagpipers was the biggest hit, of course, because we all still want to know what they are wearing under the kilts. . .   :cheer:

That also means it didn't rain on the craft show.  I did reasonably well - not fabulous, but enough considering how disorganized and unadvertised this show turned out to be.  After I packed up at 5, I took the remaining totes and purses I had to my friend's gift shop.  We put 27 purses on her display rack.  That was about 7 pm.  I left and went home.  My friend just called me - she sold 4 of them before she closed at 10.  Sounds to me like I better sew faster!

OUr solstice party was really great, well attended. I'll have to do a count sometime today. All I know for sure was that there were nine children in attendance.  :clap;

It was hotter than gee Billy whiz, but at least it didn't rain!  :2thumbsup;
