Woke to the sound of running feet. Older granddaughter hiding so she could jump out and hug me when we got up.

Younger granddaughter woke all smiles. She doesn't remember me though and won't let me hold her yet...

It has been 6 months since we saw her and she turns a year old on Sunday.

By the time we leave I'll be her grandmom through and through.  :clap;

I remembered at 8:55 this morning that  there was a 9:30 school event that my six-year-old had wanted me to attend, and somehow managed to get showered, changed, look mostly presentable and race down to the school in time to see my son Aidan up at the podium with a mic explaining what the class had done to create their science reports. He lit up when he saw me. Then I watched everyone's report, including Aidan's, and the parents were invited to have snacks with the kids.

Two teachers came up to me afterward and said what a sweet, intelligent child Aidan is. I hear this all the time, but never tire of it! :)

Dragged my phobic self to the dentist today.  The first time in almost 20 years.  Guess all that brushing and flossing paid off - no cavities!   :cheer:
I do have one cracked filling.  Geez, not like I chew ice cubes or anything, huh?

My positive: Three days until school is out.

Friday is International Day for the sixth graders so they are out of my classroom all day!
Monday is awards assembly.
Tuesday is a minimum day! I will give the kids little awards in my classes and give their grades out.

Had a great day! After doing big D this morning, went to meet with the teachers at my daughter's school, then shopping at a nearby outlets mall. I am not much of a shopper, but I got some much needed sunglasses, two shirts and a pair of shoes for ME! Shoes were just $20!

Then two dresses for #2 granddaughter's b'day and one for #1 granddaughter, just because. The dresses were $20 total!

that is the kind of shopping I like to do. Then did grocery shopping for the whole family and came home and fixed dinner so DD and DSIL did not have to cook after working all day.

Wonderful day.

It turned out to be a beautiful day after rain, rain and more rain last night!!!  I attacked the weeds in the flower beds today.  Boy am I tired tonight!!!  Some of those weeds were at least a foot high. I look like I got in a fight with a cat - I weeded the rose bed!!!  I have 2 1/2 flower beds weeded - only 4 1/2 more to go!!  I feel so positive because I can see what I accomplished today and it looks good - if I do say so myself!!!  :bandance;

We saw my husband's son from his first marriage today and his wife.  They were down visiting the grandfather.  It was nice to see both of them. I have pics, but have not downloaded them yet.

About 16 years ago hubby planted an apple seed from an apple that he ate. the tree has grown and grown but never bloomed.  Today we noticed nice red blooms on it!!!!  I sure hope we get at least one apple on it!!
I had never seen an apple tree until I was 18 years old- it was such a marvel to me I had my picture taken with it! Is it possible to show us a picture of the flowers?

Positive for Saturday: My husband and older son went to a baseball game with relatives. I stayed home with my younger son since he usually needs a nap in the afternoon. My younger son is exceedingly strong-willed, and physically quite a large child for his age, so it usually worries me to be left alone with him for a long time. Well, yesterday I needed to go out shopping. I took him to the pharmacy and the co-op and he was perfectly adorable and angelic. We also spent about an hour blowing bubbles in the sunshine. I am proud of him and proud of myself.

Positive for today: Went to the zoo and the kids loved it. A nice, quiet, and finally warm weekend around here.

It is a beautiful sunny day and only 9 days of school left. I am having a very hard time trying to get through the last days left in the school year.  I have a very unusual class behavior and academic wise. In 26 years I have never had a class like them!!!

Glitter here's a pic of some apple blossoms from my tree this year and a picture of the tre that I took last June.

Pretty, pretty, Del.

I hear you about the unusual class. Here's a hug.  :cuddle;

I'm glad that the rain held off until this afternoon. We had such a nice drive around the Berkshires this morning while there was intermittent sun.

I made it through my colonoscopy!

This has been a battle from start to finish. I told everyone who would listen, from the transplant hospital to every doctor and nurse in my path since March, that I consider this an expensive and exhausting exercise in paranoia. Since I don't handle opiods well, the colonscopy crew wanted to just give me an amnesiac and plow ahead, but my husband helped me demand real anesthesia. The doctor was less than psyched about this news - apparently in order to get proper anesthesia you need to get a pregnancy test and a potassium level check first, so this delayed everything about an hour. The anesthesiologist was very cool, though, and the last thing I remember was my husband patting the top of my head and saying goodbye.

As expected, results were totally negative. But it's over.  :yahoo;

Hooked up my big tv in the living room with my converter box, and couldn't get NBC.  Ah well, whatever.  It's online, I'll live.  Today, I finally had time to mess with the little tv in my craft room.  Hooked up the converter box, scanned, and looked at the channels.  I've got NBC in one room, but not the other.  From the same antenna - I've just used a splitter.  This, of course, makes absolutely no sense.  But, hey, at least I can watch NBC now!

Had a pot roast cooking in the slow cooker today.  Came home from work, made some rice, gravy, and steamed some broccoli.  Hubby walked in the door and his first words were - "Something smells fantastic!".  We all sat down as a family to eat (rare these days, but my son was even home with a day off work) - and everyone kept saying how great everything tasted.  It really made me feel good.  Then, hubby and I enjoyed a wonderful walk (the weather was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!)  while the kids cleaned up dinner.  It was all so nice.

Thank you so much, Aleta! Your encouragement means a lot to me, especially since doctors often make me feel like the biggest princess in town any time I make a special request.

Today's positive: had quite a few laughs with my Spanish tutor today. I was way too tired to think straight, so the mistakes I made were often quite silly. I think my favorite mistake was during the reading, I asked her if 'mezquita' meant barbecue, thinking I was being clever by seeing the similarity to 'mesquite'. It turns out it means mosque.  :oops;

I love learning Spanish from her and being able to laugh at myself.

Something I take for granted:
I came home from work tonight... One of the workmen wasn't so lucky.

Something a little absurd:
Rolando has been running a fever and I have been worried... It turns out he is only sick, THANK GOD!

Something special to be cherished:
My little guy is curled up on his pillow - so cute, so fuzzy, such a little sweetie, patiently waiting for me to pick him up and take him to bed with me... and I am about to accommodate him.
