No craving to report at the moment- I feel too nauseous right now. :(

I can tell you what I don't crave: diet Coke. I used to drink it almost daily but gave it up a while ago. I drank one yesterday and did not appreciate it. I think kidney failure has altered my sense of taste....

They have a brocolli and cheese one too at times, a Southwest Corn Bread, and regular corn bread. but I have found that after 1:30 pm, they are picked over. A lot of people rave about their sweet cheese crossants and danish. They have a key lime cookie that is hard to get along with a chocolate macadamia orange cookie.. If you like pound cakes, the double mint is filling with a few bites compared to the lemon pound cake that is good also. The coffee is also better and pretty much the same price as it is over in the cafeteria.

I'll get my bacon fix when I go there the 22.

Well since my appointment in Chicago was a rush and wait event and then needing to get to the train station to get the express train home, I never did get my bacon fix, corn bread fix and today I just didn't feel like  getting out of the vehicle to get some ice cream. Since I can't eat since 8 pm due to surgery in the morning, I'm craving a milkshake of  almost any kind! :stressed;

Right now, I am craving a quarter pounder with cheese and extra pickles.  I don't remember the last time I had one, normally the thought just makes me sick to my stomach.  But right now, I can almost taste it, I want one so bad.

Dan..

Use lean pork loin, a dab of liquid smoke and a crock pot...cook it low for a long time......like overnight.  Pull it apart (dont cut it) add BBQ sauce...reheat in crock pot...put it on rolls.  GREAT for replacing smoked pork BBQ...I cook both.  Well, I used to.

I've used that smoke in a bottle stuff, works great and low salt or no salt. (haven't used it in awhile)

DW...my family always preferred Hickory flavored sauce...I'm not a BBQ sauce kinda gal...it ALL gives me heartburn!  lol  Be careful with that liquid smoke though...it's STRONG!

Chris: a spring roll is basically an egg roll, made with a thinner wrapper. They can be eaten fresh or fried.

dwcrawford: I'd recommend a different route. Good pulled pork needs to be done with a pork shoulder roast. It's all the connective tissue and intermuscular fat that makes it so good. If you don't have a smoker, you can do it in the oven. Douse the roast in liquid smoke, maybe cut with some vinegar, then rub it with a mixture of spices like garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, black pepper, oregano, thyme, cumin, and whatever else sounds good, along with whatever amount of salt seems right for you (it's a big roast, so it's hard to oversalt). Stick it in a roasting pan and put it in the oven at 250 degrees for 12 hours or until the bone comes out very easily; or check the temperature with a meat thermometer - you're looking for 190 or higher.

Then pull it out of the oven, wrap in foil, and let it rest for an hour or as long as you can stand; then start pulling with your hands or two forks. Serve on a soft bun with some Carolina-style vinegar-based BBQ sauce.
