I could go for a BLT too :2thumbsup;

I just had a pulled BBQ Chicken leftover sandwich and a BLT would have been much better. The hospital does make a very god BLT and Turkey Club, but I do not need to be admitted or committed! :rofl;

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012

Today I had a nice big 1/2 lb burger on a fresh bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion, jalapenos, brown mustard, mayo, and chipotle Tabasco. Yummy. With a few wedge fries dipped in barbecue sauce. :D

It is time for breakfast and I don't crave a thing.  I have plenty of free time this morning but nothing sounds good.  Except maybe a BLT.  I haven't had bacon in years and a TbLT just won't do it.  Tb (Turkey Bacon).

Maybe its just a Mexican thing, but its pick a beer of your choice with some spicy tomato or v8 juice.  I personally use the non spicy low sodium V8 and add a little Tabasco with a little lime.. Good stuff.

Michelada?

Manda, the low sodium V8 replaces some of the sodium with potassium. Can you handle that currently? I can't.

Good to know about the low sodium V8! I wonder if it is like this with other products?

And I am craving cream cheese for some weird reason. But I am at my parents house and the closest thing they have is goat cheese???

Speaking of cheese, I could go for Greek Cheese if that is the real name of it. It is flaming cheese that is brought out then smoothered with a cap to put out the flames. Ohhh that is soooo good, but salty.

Oooh.. that sounds good. Maybe I just need some cheese any kind. I seem to always be craving dairy lately. And my calcium was high so I have to try to refrain from all this dairy.

It is. Most low-sodium soups (especially the ones with "natural sea salt") have potassium chloride replacing some of the regular salt. Same with low-sodium deli meats, tomato juice, and some other things. Low sodium soy sauce and certain brands of low-sodium crackers (like Goldfish) don't have added potassium, instead using lactic acid, which is safe for us.

There are always exceptions, and there are no real hard and fast rules, so you'll have to check labels. Since not everything lists the amount of potassium, you'll have to check ingredient lists for "potassium chloride."

What a bad way to start the day with all this talk of cheese and cheeries Jubilee (I had that once)... and goat cheese.  Labs come today and I'm scared to death there will be things I can no longer eat.  But these past two months have been fun.  Cheese I may miss the most...  mmm, better have a nice cheesy omlette for breakfast!

Yeah actually  my potassium has been really low lately. So I have been trying to substitute as much as I can. I hate taking potassium pills.  :puke;
