We had way too much food!  We went to my sister's house and pigged out!  Menu was:  Ham, roasted potatoes, green beans, manicotti, pasta, meatballs, veal parmigiana, eggplant parm, meatballs and sausages and pizza gaina.  Everything here  was homemade.  Lots of appetizers too.
Dessert:  Huge renal friendly fruit salad (made by me), blonde brownies, butterhorn cookies, pizzaelis, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, 3 different kinds of cakes.  WHEW!   :shy;

Can you tell we are Italian??  :bandance;

11/17/09 After 4 years on dialysis, Rob received a kidney from our George.  Kidney is working great!  YEAH!!!!

Are collard greens like turnip greens - the green leaves off the top of the turnip!!  They are delicious.  I had them cooked with the reast of my veggies last night for supper. We had turkey and gravy with it.  Greens are really good for you-lots of folic acid plus other stuff.  Unless you are on the renal diet or have a clotting problem should eat lots of leafy green veggies!!!  That's what greens are leaves!!

Yes, collards are just like turnip and mustard greens and chard and kale. Supposedly not as bitter as mustard greens, though. Here are pictures of it cooked and uncooked, though most people don't cook and eat the stems, since they're very tough and even more bitter than the leaves.

Hi Jill - quite boring really if you'd been expecting it to contain amphibians  :rofl; it's sausages (Linda McCartney veggie ones in our case) in yorkshire pudding (a type of batter), but it's very nice.

last night it was, corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, turnips, broccoli, on a light white sauce... completely amazing.... must be the Irish in me ;)

Leftovers from Easter dinner. My husband has a meeting tomorrow night that he's going to straight after work, and is not expecting to be over until almost 10:00...son and I are having Papa John's pizza - Yum!

Chicken AGAIN, even my son said that!  But I mad a really good salad with romaine, celery, cucumbers, raw cheese cubed, hard boiled egg, avacado, cherry tomatoes and carrots.  Yum!

what is a chocolate boost and do they make it in Pepsi flavor?

fresh strawberries, fresh purple grapes - no seeds  and BLT's with turkey bacon for me and pig bacon for the rest of the family
and an 8 ounce Pepsi for me with Sonic ice, ice cold milk for the family----yuck to milk :puke;
