Monday: a whole new week of bills due. BUT it was warm enough for me to get outside for a bit & walk with the dog; and, best of all: NO DIALYSIS! (until tomorrow )

Today a fraternity brother was laid to rest. He passed on Sunday. The eye cancer had spread. He was a father of two. Rest in peace Bosco.

We're moving! Found a cute little place not too far from where we are now. We can start moving in as soon as we want. We will be out of our old place hopefully by Thanksgiving. First move in 19 years. Hmm... Maybe we should have a housewarming party?! Who's up for a party?  |

They put a new sidewalk in front of my place today. Someone drilled a hole in a nickel and put a nail through it and embedded it in the new cement. It is fun to watch people walk by and try and pick it up. Now to think of an alibi.  |

My daughter was coming home this weekend and she surprised me a day early! Just tucked her in and gave her a goodnight kiss. She informed me that she is an adult now as she turned 18 since she left for college. I told her she is still my kid. I LOVE having her home.

06/85 Diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes
10/04 Radical Nephrectomy (Kidney Cancer or renal cell carcinoma)
02/08 Started Hemodialysis
04/08 Started Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)
05/08 Started CCPD (my cycler: The little box of alarms)
07/09 AV Fistula and Permacath added, PD catheter removed. PD discontinued and Hemodialysis resumed
08/09 AV Fistula redone higher up on arm, first one did not work
07/11 Mass found on remaining kidney
08/11 Radical Nephrectomy, confirmed that mass was renal cell carcinoma
12/12 Whipple, mass on pancreas confirmed as renal cell carcinoma
