It was not that deep.  I cleaned it and bandaged it with antibiotic ointment.

It is official:

That sounds very painful.  Is he going to be able to play next week?   Okarol, if you get a chance, go to the football game.  These boys are tough and extremely well trained.     And tough!!  Hope it doesn't slow him down, Marc.

I think I have posted this picture before but thought it appropriate to post it again today.  The picture is my father helping with the rescue effort at ground zero on 9-13-01.  He was a retired police officer and as soon as the towers were hit he got in his car and drove to a fire station in the Bronx that he had friends at.  He waited there with them until the engine company was called in to assist with the efforts.

 :rant;

Not that good of a day at D today.  I have never missed a treatment.  I just really did not feel like going but of course I did after dropping my son off to school.  My tech was not there as he had to go to another unit that was short.  I got a tech who forgot to clamp the line and dumped a full bag into me once.  When my tech is not there I always self-cannulate which is creepy but much better than having someone dig around.  I started with a different nurse the treatment before.  45 minutes after I got there I fell asleep.  I had not even seen my nurse in the room.  45 minutes after I fell asleep my tech woke me up to wiggle my needle a little bit.  I asked where my nurse was.  She came over and I asked why she had not assessed me when I came in.  She said that she did not want to wake me which was a bunch of baloney I told her as I waited 45 minutes.  She insisted that she did not want to wake me.  I told her, yes, I do not want to be woken to get my meds. Yes, I have to see my meds before they push them but I was talking about the assessment when I came in.  She shrugged it off and walked away.  I then pushed my button and asked for the head nurse.  I asked if they listened to our lungs and heart and checked our ankles just for fun when we first came in? I have had fluid in my lungs before and adjusted how much they took off.  She said no.  I let her know that I was NOT happy at the fact that my new nurse was nowhere to be found.  She told me I was correct and asked me if I was asking for my old nurse.  I said no. I do prefer my old nurse but she is very busy with other patients.  I told the head nurse that this was strike one against the new nurse and that I had to feel like I was being taken care of by someone who was competent.  I told her that if she made one more mistake that I would be requesting my old nurse.  Sometimes I just feel that these people should be waiting tables where it does not matter if they forget to put in an order.  This is my friggin life.

Yucky, cold, rainy weather today. The kind that just makes you want to stay in bed wrapped up in the blankets watching a movie.

My son's team won 28-20.  They remain undefeated at 6-0.  This was a big win.  Last year my son's team was up 16-0 over this team and then lost the game 32-16.
