Just another hamster on the dialysis W.O.F.

« Reply #22100 on: February 03, 2010, 05:57:02 AM »

     Good morning everyone  :waving;
      Well, you inow you have been on dialysis for a while, when you start having dreams about it.  Strange dream about having left my bag with my cell phone at the clinic and had to go back to get it.   :rofl; :rofl;

       Chris, hope you are able to find an answer to the amonia taste.  Other than the taste do you have any other "symptoms" of anything?

        Fun afternoon planed.  Have to go make my quaterly personal appearance at the "family" doctor's.  Not sure why I'm going, she can't really do anything.  I don't really need to go.  Ah, but it wouldn't be a Wednesday unless I went to a doctor's office.. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

        Well, our ice is almost gone and it is suppose to get into the low 50's today.   :clap; :clap;

         Have a good day all.   :bestwishes;

Going up to the mountains this weekend with the Indian Guides.  They recently got a couple feet of snow and it looks like Friday and Saturday we may get more.  Looking forward to it.  :clap;

Chris, I get that ammonia taste off and on, too. I have always read that it is one symptom of kidney failure, so in my case I just wrote it off as part of the decline. Have you been eating lots of protein with few/zero carbs? The ammonia taste is apparently a sign of ketosis, which can be an effect of low-carb diets or just not eating enough in general.

I hope it's nothing kidney/pancreas related. Let us know what the yahoos say....

Every 3-4 months I have a time period of like 2 days to a week where I burp A LOT and it tastes and smells like sulfar and it's so disgusting it makes me want to puke every time I burp from the smell alone and the taste alone. Anyone around me can smell it also and it makes them want to puke. Then it goes away like nothing ever happened.

I hate it with my whole being. Have no idea what the cause is.... if I knew I would so prevent it!

The YMCA has a father/son program.  We do a bunch of stuff like go camping.  This weekend we are in cabins in the snow.  It is actually called the Y-Guides now to be pc.  They have a father/daughter program called the princesses I did with my daughter.  They did the same stuff except they add father/daughter dances.  They are great programs.  I used to be Nation Chief for the boys program.

Aw, Marc, sounds like such fun!

I have had an interesting day! Our autistic student decided to test the limits today. Hoo boy!

Then a little girl thought it might be fun to push a staple between two teeth. Her dad had to take her to the dentist! In all my years of teaching, that is completely new! Two major nosebleeds! Poor kids!

On the good side, I finished writing the first course for the university! And it has been sent in! Now on to the other three!

Longhouse meeting tonight.  Last minute prep for the winter camp.  Next month is the pinewood derby and in April is the Diaz Lake campout.  The Diaz campout the YMCA won't have anything to do with because we set up a shooting range.  It is a great campout.  Shooting, lots of fishing and dirt bikes and quads.

Hi Marc, Tyefly, Des, andanyone else who may come in.

Stil waiting to get an appointment from tx center, but saw knee surgeon today. He will do surgery if I get the ok from the docs and get an ekg done. However he said I will have to stay for a day or 2 on the transplant floor. I just hope I don't see my tx doc, I dislike him so much. Kidney surgeons I like so much better.

     Good morning  (or whatever it is where you are when you read this) every one  :waving;

     Chris hope all goes well.

     Marc same for you.

      Angela, that was terrible..  :(

      Tyefly  proud of you too.   :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap;

     We're suppose to get snow/rain tomorrow.  Sounds like fun will be had by all  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

      Using terminal at dialysis.  Got to come in an hour or so early today.  Doesn't like me getting into IHD.  Not seeing any replies to my posts, takes me to posts in Nov 2009, have to "cheat" my way to a threat.  Wonder if Frescenius is trying to keep us from using the terminals for sites like IHD?  Then maybe it is some technical problem on their end.  Anoying, but gives me something to do besides staring at Tv screen for 4 hours.

Rob, this weather is just yucky!

Kathy, so proud of you!

I have been so busy getting these courses written. Sorry I have been out of the loop more than usual! But it is almost the weekend.  :2thumbsup;

When we were at Carl's clinic today they were saying how excited they are to have him coming back in for a week while I am traveling in March. They love him.
