Yes,  :snowman; indeed. Our first snowfall is underway right now.

We are so unprepared.... hope it's just a dusting.

Even Tennessee has snow forecast for this weekend. I ONLY want snow if it means a snow day from school!

 :rofl; :rofl;

Weekends are a waste of snow!  :thumbdown;

Sort of Snowing here to, but not noticeable on the ground.

My dad will allow me to have a guide dog, so started filling out forms, but ran into a problem. They want 3 names and numbers of people I know who know me and how I get around. I only have one reference. This is bad when most of the people I know and see are doctors. :banghead;

Chris, can the doctors be references? I would think they would be willing to do it (eye doctor especially) and quite credible. Can your father or mother be a reference? Would they?

Are you absolutely sure they won't accept doctors or even a special nurse as a reference?

Doctors go on another page for medical history and contacts. They want friends and no parents or immediate family as reference.

I would have to believe that the doctors recommendation would weigh much heavier than any (or lack of) references.

Good Morning IHD - bright sun shiny day here and it is FRIDAY!!!  and it is 40 degrees WOOHOO.  And, the weather map says the snow that was suppose to be in the northeast is really in southern Texas.  Oh well.  My snow shovel sits idle for more days which is super great (except for the ski areas).

Enjoy the day everyone   :bandance;

Good Morning people,
I had a good conversation with the guide dog organization this morning, but turns out I have to take a class prior to getting into the program. I have to learn how to use a "hard stick" cane (blind man's cane) first. I was never taught to use mine, so I have to take a one week class. They will pay for it, but the ba part is I have to pay travel expences first then they will reimburse me. So  this may mean I can not get an iPhone due to either airfare or train cost. I never taken Amtrak before, but with that long trip that way, I'm gonna need lots of coffe!

Thanks to the members who replied to my Facebook post and giving their contact information for this organization. :bow; :beer1; :cuddle;

Good luck with this, Chris. At least you will be reimbursed! So the iPhone is just on delay, not completely scratched!  :2thumbsup;

We just got back from the Nutcracker. Lovely performance. Kids were so well behaved. The bus driver thanked us for a pleasant trip! I LOVE my class!

Chris, I hope this all works out. It seems like such a great plan.   Maybe you could set up a paypal donation site " help send Chris to Michigan to get his dog".  I would donate!!

I don't know how to even do that paris, but might need iPhone sooner :banghead;. My current phone is dropping calls and starting to fall apart. Could get parts from the UK to fix, but xchange rate and shipping could pretty much buy th iPhone.

Before I left to drop off paperwork for my eye doctors and local GP doc, I called to check on their hours. Unfortunately 2 docs lied aboutheir hours and were closed
