I never had a vehicle with that may miles before, even the used vehicles I have had. My truck is 9 years old and nowhere close to 27,000 miles yet.

Had an odd day today dropping of  medical forms at eye doc and gp's ofice. Went to eye doc, no patients there and I get a secretary who seems angry because she has to help someone. I say I need these forms filled out by my doctor to see if I qualify for a guide dog. She replies "Are you qualified for a guide dog?" I said that's why I am here, to find out with these forms I have to turn in. And she said it in a pisy mood, like excuse me for interrupting you from either yaking or playing solitaire on the pc.

Second doc, I asked if I can drop these forms off or wait till my apointment later this month since it is a few pages long. She then rudely says that it will cst me out of pocket $25 for the doctor to do the paperwork and do the physical exam. Well I have an appointment this month, what if I bring it then and have him do it while in the room? It's still $25. I never had to pay for a medical history a physical exam paper form cost me other than an ofice visit, this is new to me and a slight shock. Well with her attitude towards me, not like I'm a new patient there or an argumentive patient. So I'll  try my doc in the city to have this done without costing me.

Similar thing happened to me for my son's clearance to play football.  They wanted to charge me for the doctors signature.  I inform the front office girl who I have never seen before that if the doctor does it during the exam they do not charge she insists that they ALWAYS have charged.  I advised her that we have done it for the last 6 years that way and she tells me that I have not.  I just brought them in with me and the doctor signed them for free.

Tomorrow is the big meeting with the transplant surgeon.

That's a hard question Marc because I don't know what you have asked or have already read here.

Des, sorry to hear your having a bad day and in pain.

I am up early and have to get going early to get labs done due to snow fall.

Des, I am sorry you are having a bad time.  Please only use forks and spoons for awhile!   :rofl;

Marc, good luck with the meeting. I have found that the meetings with the transplant surgeons are the easy ones!  He always feels the area where incision would be, asks many questions about how you are feeling, etc.  Mostly we just talk.  I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.    :cuddle;

Oh, Des, take it easy (if possible). I really hate that you have to suffer like this. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Marc, I find that most surgeons have a little prepared speech that they blurt out, and it tends to cover most questions in their realm. Drug protocols are an important one. If they want to give you long-term steroids, ask about options. Often, they are willing to do things if the patient asks, but won't broach these subjects if the patient says nothing. I have found the pressure to use a live donor pretty intense when it comes to surgeons. State what you want clearly, and they should back off.

Sorry, that's all that comes to mind. Oh, but do remember that surgeons are infamous for being socially inept. Try not to take it personally if you run across this problem with yours. Good luck!

Hmmm, to late for me  :rofl; Pancreas surgeon is a real  :sir ken; but kidney surgeons I have dealt with are far more better. Let's just say the pancreas doc avoids me now due to a confrontation. :rofl;
