Hi all, thanks again for all your well wishes, they mean a lot. Right now it is difficult to get to my computer because it
is still upstairs. I have to go up backwards dragging a walker with me, then when I get to the top of the stairs, I have to pull myself upright and use the walker to hop over to the computer chair. It is an adventure. I hope to have it moved downstairs soon. I am glad to be back on IHD  ...Boxman

Oh man! Upstairs and downstairs?  That will be a pain until  you get back on your feet and rehabbed a little more. Please be careful. The only time Victor has fallen was in the hospital with nurses helping him up out of bed. And then once when he did not set the brakes on the wheelchair and it went out from under him.  You will find stairs, curbs and ramps are hard to navigate.

I hear you Kitkatz, getting up one or two stairs is very difficult, hopping on one leg to the next stair takes a lot of strength and balance, just hopping with the walker across the room takes a lot out of you, I go up the stairs on my butt to get to the computer, there is no way I could do it upright, but you gotta do what ya gotta do...Boxman

Wow, you are doing great Boxman.
At therapy they have me now doing small steps.
It is something how one can find new ways to do things when they have to.
I could not hop with or without the walker.  Not at all.

Hi OB, thanks for all your kind advice. This is an adventure, rehab taught me a few things but your right, hopping up a step to get on a porch or whatever is very difficult and takes some strength and balance. I have one of those little electric chairs so I get around the house and out one the driveway real easy. The cast is coming off Tuesday and I also have my first outpatient rehab on that day too. I am not having any pain. Kept posting your journey with this I can always use the info...Boxman

You're lucky.  I didn't get an electric wheelchair but a manual one.
It seems like an electric one would be hard to load in a car when going somewhere.
Or do you have a lightweight one for that kind of use?
I asked for an ultra lightweight to make it easier fo friends to get it in their
car or van and the insurance wouldn't approve it.  said I needed one if I
could not use regular one, not to make it easier for people to transport.
