Wow, good to hear that things are progressing to the point of prosthetic.  You'll be walking in no time.  And back fishing shortly after that I hope.

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Be sure to make them adjust that leg until it fits you correctly and you can use it.  We are undergoing changes to Victor's leg as it still heals from the trauma.

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

I am so proud of you.   :2thumbsup; :clap;
My sister's husband became a couch potato when he had his amputation. He had a prosthesis, but he hardly ever tried to walk anymore than from his room (they built a bedroom downstairs because of his situation) (with a walker) to the tv room and there he had breakfast, then lunch, then dinner!  My sister took him on a cruise and had to wheel him around.
