Petrol prices expected to reach $2.50 a LITRE New Zealand dollars at the end of March.

That is around $1.80 a LITER US
1.14 pounds a litre
$1.80 Australian dollars a litre.  :waiting;

$2.50 a litre in NZ  would equal to around $6.70 a gallon in US $$. WOAH!

Still seems expensive to fill your tank in NZ.

Still $3.49 a gallon close to home while others have raised their price which is odd since BP has lowered theirs a few cents  :urcrazy;

I had heard that Canada is paying more for gas than the U.S. I might be wrong, but I think I heard even the UK is getting hit harder than the US right now. Canada is paying roughly $5.00 to a US gallon.

Anyways, Chris, here's roughly the conversion for you.........

There are 3.785 litres per 1 US gallon.

So, to do the math to convert your fuel price.

$1.28CDN/litre x 3.785(L to gal) = $4.845CDN

$4.845CDN x 0.9909(exch. rate) = $4.80USD/gal.

Even without the conversion factor, that is what I about figured it would be. Maybe due to past math classes, kg to pounds for dialysis, or just pot luck, I just can not remember. I wish there was a pill for intelligence to help remember like there was in the movie Limitless.  ;D

I was taught it was 2.205 pounds to 1 kg, but of course that leads to a long strung out number that you have to round up. However that said, I always do the 2.2 in my head when converting  :rofl;  it's faster and easier.

I might be wrong, but I think I heard even the UK is getting hit harder than the US right now.
I think we're always hardest hit when it comes to petrol!  Currently petrol is about £1.35 per litre.  This is equal to $8.44 per US gallon with today's conversion rate.  I have heard that the petrol we get over here is superior so it balances out, but I don't know if that's true.

Sounds like spin to me!

I usually fill up by paying at the pump with my debit card.  All the pumps have a $75 limit for purchases using the card at the pump.  Anyone who wants to charge more than $75 at a time has to shut down the pump and start a new transaction.  Time consuming and not so thrilling when it's a Michigan winter, so lots of people with big tanks don't bother to top off.

Of course, that didn't affect very many people when gas was under $3 a gallon.  It's almost $4 now and supposed to hit $5 or more this summer.  At that point, even my little wagon won't get a full fill from an empty tank without starting a new transaction, and I've a got a pretty standard tank size. Makes me wonder how that will effect the gas station profits if no one ever spends the last few bucks and just keeps moving on to the next station when it's time to fill again.

I suppose the sure sign that the $5 and up prices are here to stay will be when they raise the limit to $100.

I am stubborn, even with price over four dollars, I will not put more than $40.00 in the tank at  time. I pay premium prices, too. I drive a sportscar.

I drive a Mazda3 and fill up at the half tank or somewhere between half and 3/4'ths.  That way, I fill 'er up and get the most miles I can out of the tank w/o having to "spend" as much at one time.  I don't know if it's my imagination, but I always feel like I get better gas mileage in the first half a tank and not the 2nd half.  I went on a road trip last summer and that's the mantra I stuck to.  Sure, that meant more stops, but that was okay, I had to use the bathroom anyway!

I also found a service station near my work that does only full service, and it doesn't cost more.  Pretty nice when you have a healing fistula on one side of you, and a healing tunnel cath on the other!  However, what I thought was strange is right across the street from it is a no-name mini-mart that was advertising gas for $2.99/gal! I was like WHAT???  I still need to find out what exactly is going on there...  Prices around here are now over $4 for reg unleaded.
