***WARNING*** The national weather service has issued a Falling Bear warning for Chicago Sunday starting at 12:00 p.m (10:00 A.M PST) and continuing throughout the afternoon until the end of the fourth quarter. Falling Bears could be heavy at times especially around the Soldier Field area. Heavy accumulation is likely!*

Ah yes, but did you know that one of the best traps for a bear is beer?  There'll be plenty of that in the stadium!!!

 :beer1; >clink!<

http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2004-08-18-beer-bear_x.htm

"Da Bearz" host the Seahawks at Soldier Field, Chicago Sunday, Jan 16th @ 1pm ET.  If the Hawks win, they will be hosting the Green Bay Packers at Qwest Field in Seattle.  Last week's game at Qwest against the New Orleans Saints got so noisy it caused a seismic event!  So c'mon "Da Bearz" nation, can you top the 12th man with your cheers and hoopla?  Game ON!!!!

IDK. The Jets looked pretty good.  I know Polamalu didn't play but didn't the Jets already beat the Steelers this season?

                              1    2    3    4    OT    Total
New York Jets          7   3     7    5    0       22
Pittsburgh Steelers   0   10   7    0    0       17

Rodgers looked pretty darn good for GB too!

What's past is prologue

« Reply #216 on: January 23, 2011, 05:56:48 PM »

We had a great day, thanks to this playoff game. We went to the natural history museum and saw a fascinating exhibit on amphibians - live ones. It was pretty empty. Then we went to the butterfly house. For long stretches of time, we were the only ones in there, which was especially nice because the butterfly house is tropical, and with winter clothes on, add in too many people and you start to feel panicky and claustrophobic. Then we came home, threw some nachos together, Gwyn ran round the corner for sour cream, and we sat down to watch the game, on tape, so we could skip the useless bits. We managed to (mostly) avoid scores throughout the day, although we did hear a 14-0 update at one point. It was so quiet in our neighbourhood, I thought for sure the Packers had lost. My son, who acts like he's been a football fan all his life, really enjoyed the game. Our younger boy stayed in his room to play on his computer.

In order to get 2for1 tickets to the amphibian exhibit, we had to wear Packers colors. We decided to really drive the point home (since we have none of their gear) by painting the G symbol on the kids' faces and spraying their hair green. Shower time!

I think we'll go sledding on Superbowl Sunday, or maybe to the ancient Egypt exhibit, employing the same strategy.

Gwyn is going to bring a load of questions into work tomorrow. There were calls that we really did not understand.

This is going to be a good super bowl I think. Bears didn't deserve to win the way they have played. They played bad last week with the Seahawks in the 2nd half. Pittsburg, that was a game in the second half. They didn't give up with the setbacks and pulled out to win.

They almost blew it.  I know my brother is besides himself.  He is a wicked Jets fan.  If I was a Steelers fan I would be worried about the Packers with the almost complete collapse in the second half.  NO points scored.

ALMOST? That Sir, counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. The Jets found out that Pittsburgh is a NO FLY ZONE
