Hey, you know this secret meeting between some of the NFL owners and the commissioner (and, I think, some reps from the NFLPA)?  Turns out they were meeting at a hotel that's just down the road from my house!!!  And no one told me! :rant;  I could have walked there and sorted them all out!!

So I'm thinking Hollywood will comeout with "The Replacements 2" with returning stars Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman.

Could happen, they did have Major League 2! :sarcasm;

Could anyone make use of child size small Minnesota Vikings Favre #4 t-shirt?  Someone in my office was trying to tweak me when I was on sabbatical in 2009 and left it on my desk.  No one will claim responsibility so the shirt goes to the first person who wants it.  I'll even pay postage.  It's a brand new shirt still w/tags.

If the NFL doesn't get itself straightened out, I fully authorize the entire Detroit Defensive Unit to sack every owner and Player Representative.

The Detroit defensive unit looks pretty good this year, actually.  Well, at least they do on paper.  We'll just have to see if we get to watch them on the field this season.

They appear to be straight nasty, which is good. However, if we can keep our 1st string quarterback healthy for at least four games, then we will be a force to be reckoned with.

But will a deal be made before a point of no return for this season?

I think so, in my gut.  There's just too much money to lose.

Even if the stoppage goes into Week 3 of the season, all the games can still be played.

I'm rather fond of redemption stories, so I am hoping that he will find a team if he is still good enough to play.  I personally don't expect athletes to be role models (although cheating is unacceptable in my book), but I understand that other fans don't feel the same way.  I just hope he gets rid of his guns.  Hmmm...you can take guns into US National Parks, and in some states you can take them into church, so I'm not really sure that two years in prison for taking a gun into a nightclub is terribly consistent.  But if that's the law, that's the law, and he should have known better.

Eagles again? I guess they like to try redeeming players. Just wish players had to worker hard to regain their million dollar paychecks.

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Now that NFL owners appear to have cleared a significant hurdle on the way to labor peace with the players, the question for the league is simple: How fast can they get the league year started?

The short answer is sometime on or just before July 15. By that point, the league may be reopen for business on a permanent basis, meaning free agents could get signed and draft picks could start to meet with coaches for the first time in hopes of catching up as much as possible by the start of training camp.

What exactly is this "significant hurdle"?

I heard on the radio today NBA was in possible lockout, but players do not have much to fight on. What they were discussing didn't fully make sense on the sports talk radio station.
