You have a beautiful daughter B and you made a beautiful dress for her!! 

I cleaned all the glass doors in my china cabinet and my french doors. Have most of my Christmas decorations put out. Now I need a tree for the living room and the lights put up outside!!

oops I sent my positivity to the wrong address. But my positive news is that I baked an applepie today, and sofar (still 55 mins to bake) it looks like a pie

Going to a surprise party tonight for my friend's now 14 yr old daughter.  Strangest thing I've heard of for a party idea - she's having it at the girl's favorite clothing store, after closing time.  They let you bring food, have the run of the whole store, and everyone gets a discount on anything they buy.  They store even provides party favors.  Ahh, well, I'm guessing the kids will love it!

OMG! What new marketing ploy will they think of next?

What happened to the days of parties at home with hand-crafted favors? Sigh. Times change.

Bernadette, keep up the parties at home! More lasting and personal memories that way.  :2thumbsup;

I'll NEVER forget the Valentine's Day party my mother did for me when I was 13. First of all, it wasn't for a birthday. Secondly she made a red cake in the shape of a heart (which I thought was the cat's meow) and finally, we all had a great time playing silly games. As I got older, our house became known for its parties. One time nearly my entire high school came for an after play party. My English teacher got stuck in the ditch, but there were plenty of kids there to pick her car up and move it! (Note: I graduated from a really small school!)

I like that prayer!!!

I now have a Christmas tree!!!   :yahoo;  Got lots of exercise looking for one.  We walked for over an hour and guess where we chopped down a tree?  About 20 feet from the truck when we got back!!  It is still outdoors yet. Have to put it in the shed for tonight and bring it in the house to decorate tomorrow evening.  I need a snooze now from all that fresh air!!  :christmastree;

Oh Del, Memories brought back are my afternoon positive.  When I was a kid we lived in Tennessee and always cut our own tree.  It should be something that everyone should be able to do, at least once.  We'd sometimes have 3 trees over the season because we couldn't  decide on size.  Or else somebody really like to decorate tree.

I find it unbelievable that there are places where you are not allowed to go cut your own tree!!!  We don't even argue over which tree to cut!!!  I love the smell of real Christmas trees and I love even more the walk looking for one!!  Hubby told me I wasn't allowed to complain this year when I got it all decorated that it doesn't look good and I'm not allowed to threaten to throw it outdoors decorations and all!!!  :shy;  LOL!!

My mother had my two nieces (8 and 10) staying at her house on Saturday night.  She thought it would be a nice idea for them to decorate her tree.  In actual fact she said it was a nightmare and they fought befiore they even started  - and the result is a huge globby mess of decorations that look like they've been thrown at the tree.  One corner of it doesn't even have decorations on it ha ha h ah ah ah ah.  Might have to take a photo I think...

Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

A few days after Thanksgiving I lost my best buddy, my stockdog Molly, a beautiful Red-Tri Australian Shepherd.  She had been sick about a month and was not able to recover.  Last Thursday we adopted another Aussie, a Blue Merle 1 year old male named Murphy.  I have been working with him for serveral days to teach him basic commands and he has been doing so well.  Today I introduced him to some of our cattle and he was very interested.  I had been wondering how I would feel towards another stock dog since Molly went with me everywhere on the farm and was so protective of me.  After Murphy came out of the pen with the cattle today, he came up to me and rolled right over onto his back for belly scratch.  At that moment, seeing the trust in his eyes, I knew this was going to be a great friendship.  Viva la Murphy!

Oh, Looney. Another member (Rose in England) lost her best pal named Molly not long ago....

For some reason this brought tears to my eyes. We don't have any pets right now, but I remember when Carl lost his puppy cat (yes, puppy cat) around this time of year several years ago and he said he did not want another cat. That is, until he met Jeffrey, a rescued cat who put his paws around Carl's neck the first time they met....

Pets. I sure miss them.

I found out today that my social worker, Martha and the charge nurse, Kevin were going to put a puppy on my front porch, ring the bell and run away.  I put a stop to that plan immediately ... I think.  I hope.

Dan...a dog may do you a world of good.  I would get too lonely without someone to talk to.  Hubby sleeps at least 14 hours a day and sometimes more.  Molly was always good for a grin with her attempts to herd me as well as the cattle.  Now I have Murphy who hopefully will be as good with the stock as Molly was.    I also have a mini-schnauzer named Duke who is 8 years old.  He is strictly a housedog and a real attention hound.   

So, maybe a pup would be a good thing.  Gives me something to focus on besides waiting for "another shoe to fall".

I am sitting in my living room with the fireplace on (electric) relaxing with my hubby. The Christmas tree is standing in the corner sending out a wonderful aroma and waiting for someone to dress it up!!  :christmastree;  We just got back from a staff supper at a really nice restaurant.  The wood furnace is going so the house is toasty warm.  Can't get much better than that!!

Looney, I think there may be something there.  I've been thinking about it since Mickey died but just couldn't get my self into it.  I like a dog that can stay in the house (maybe like your schnauzer), sleep on the bed but not pee on my pillow if I'm late getting home or poop under the piano when it rains.  And Yet, I still miss Mikey!  Can you believe?  Meanest dog I ever knew.  I he were on IHD his avitar would be a donkey.  Uh Oh!

Anyway they are bringing a picture of the pupy for me to see tomorrow.  Eveil staff at my center.  Kevin is active with the Cocker Spaniel rescue league.  MMMMM

New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges
