You have an astute child, :2thumbsup;

Aw, how sweet of you to say. Thanks.  :)  :thx;

Wishing you luck, Del....  :2thumbsup; (My kids have their last day of the year at their afterschool/preschool program today, and it goes until 6PM. I'll bet your tylenol would fetch a handsome price in the staff room....  ;))

It's vacation time!!! :clap; :2thumbsup;  School is out until Jan. 4.  Didn't even need my tylenol!!! One of my grade 2's came in this morning asking to open his gift.I told him he had to wait and I think he asked every 5 minutes when he could open it!!! I did not let them open the gifts until just before they went home!!!

Cariad, they say a child's personality is pretty much set by age 3, so there's no reason not to think that doesn't hold true for having a good eye and a taste for quality art, too!

I only noticed this now - thanks, jbeany! You're such a sweetheart to indulge my search for early signs of genius in my toddler.  :)   :flower;

I get to go with Beth tonight when she takes all 9 of her nieces and nephews to The Nutcracker.  This is the 8th year she has taken them - the number keeps growing!   It will be a nice evening.  The N.C. Ballet does a beautiful performance.   :2thumbsup;

That will be wonderful Paris.
My 18 year old daughter home from college and I went to the SF Nutcracker last week . It was the matinee performance with all the little children in the audience and we had so much fun.

Merry Christmas Eve Day - my daughter and her new husband are headed  home today to spend Christmas and long weekend.   Plus, I'll get to see my kidney donor this weekend.  Life can't get much better than that.

Aleta - you live either dangerously or on the wild side - I can't figure out which one.  Going shopping on Christmas Eve is a dangerous sport sometimes.  Good luck with that.   :2thumbsup;

« Reply #1365 on: December 24, 2009, 10:42:23 AM »

At dialysis now, and looking forward to going home so I can help toddler proof the house for our two grandsons who are coming to spend Christmas Day and staying all niight with us.  Of course with their parents. Never having any kids of my own and having married a lady with a married daughter, it is going to be fun to be around the kids for Christmas. Sure beats past Christmases where I had to work.  :police: :yahoo;

We survived shopping on Christmas Eve. Bought my daughter and her family lots of things on sale!  :2thumbsup;

And soon we are going to neighbors for Christmas Eve dinner. They have included us for several years. What nice neighbors our daughter has.

Tomorrow night it will be going to another friend's house for Christmas dinner.

The lobbying for us to move up here has been going on the whole time. Who knows!  :bow;

For now, the visit is lovely. I'll be putting on my dress up clothes in a little while. With earrings like holly leaves.

We have finished dialysis for today and all went well. Each day is a gift.

The holiday is mellow.  :2thumbsup;

And Mizar,
I have been holding my breath that you would NOT be spending Christmas at the hospital.

That is a wonderful gift!

That's right, Del.

We have soooo much for which to be thankful. Warm homes, loving friends and family and plenty to eat.

I was filled with love watching my granddaughters open their gifts. Thw older one got a set of cup stilts and has been walking around on them all day. When we went to the school construction site, she was walking around in the snow with them. I laughed at what the construction workers will think when they return to work tomorrow and see all those circles everywhere.

 :rofl; :rofl;

I hooked Carl up to the machine and thought that it is simply wonderful that we can do this on our terms and that he has dialysis to keep him healthy, not to mention alive.

The fire is blazing and the snow outside is beautiful. The cats are fascinated by the bubbles running through the effluent line stretching to the bathroom. The girls are playing quietly with each other and some of their new things. My daughter and her husband are sipping Lattes.

Life is good. Life is sweet.

I wish only that I could spread this sense of peace and joy to all those in the world so that everyone could experience this contentment.

I made it home last night from my sister's just ahead of an ice storm.  I had damp roads, but no freezing for the whole trip.  The weather was clear enough at home that I got to spend a couple of hours today with my 92 yr old Gram, and bring her Christmas dinner.  Opening presents Christmas eve morning at my sister's was a blast - my nephew said it was his "best Christmas ever".  (That wasn't because I was there - that's because he got his first real hunting rifle.  He's even happier than Ralphie was with his Red Ryder.)

My family ( sister and brother families ) couldn't get together for Christmas because of the blizzard in our area, but Christmas Eve my daughter came and got me and we had a nice supper, opened presents and I stayed the night with them. She gave me a ride to work the next morning....so all is well. They got me a patio set which is what I have wanted for many years. but now I have to wait to spring to use it. LOL My family plan on getting together New Years Day now  but I hear we are in for another storm again. I told Savannah we should have Christmas in July!
