We got our CSA box today, and for the first time all year, I see no problem with finishing all of it in a week: 1 green bell pepper, 1 purple bell pepper, 1 bunch of carrots, 2 large white onions, 1 large bunch of flat leaf parsley, 1 French breakfast melon (which I swear we used to call cantaloupe, but I am trying to adjust), 7 ears of sweet corn, 1 large slicing tomato, 1 large heirloom tomato, 1 dry pint of bright orange cherry tomatoes.

I think that's it!

I was out of V-Math training early this afternoon. Hubby took me to lunch and then we went to bookstores and thrift stores, then drove across town to dinner. Now home.  A nice day!

Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.

Beautiful sunny day here, and my light chains are down (which is good).  Hopefully will mean I can push the chemo out to once a fortnight.  Yahoo.

By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

had a car accident today,  the positive is that no one was hurt, just my poor car!  My son was quite upset, saying dad is going to kill us but i explained that it is only a car, its fixable.

I have been on an emotional roller coaster today and I can't figure out why. Went to an interesting discussion this morning, followed by a nice lunch out with a large group of friends, then my state of mind went south.  :P

I'm probably stressing over all the work I still have yet to finish on this "holiday" weekend. Sigh.

Good day today.  :2thumbsup;

I even got on the cross trainer and did 55 minutes of pool exercise. I didn't get everything done that I wanted, but I got a bunch of it done. I'm glad for that.

Great day yesterday. We went to a state forrest and walked one of their trails. We saw two wild turkeys! My younger son is fascinated with absolutely everything to do with nature, so he was thrilled just getting to touch a grasshopper. I am now trying to identify the large, yellow butterfly with a blue border around its wings that we saw yesterday. I have no idea how far we hiked, but we were probably gone for about 2.5 hours. We got a little turned around on the way back, so that was tense for a moment, but we made it.

We finished off the day with pizza and a film for the kids (Princess Bride). I had a long soak in the bath, and so did my husband, and then we watched Into The Wild until way too late. Everyone is exhausted this morning....

An over all positive day, I suppose. My husband was told last week that if a loan for the company where he contracts did not come in by last Friday, the company would close. Well, the loan did not come in yet, but the company is still limping along, still waiting. Since my husband is a contractor and does not enjoy the same legal rights as employees, he has had to tell the owner that he will not be reporting to work until he gets at least some of the money that he is owed (which is now up to 8 weeks of salary!) The owner understands - we have nothing against this person, but have to take a fairly strict business line on this for our own financial safety.

Today, two vps from another company in town contacted my husband about a company director position. He knows these guys, they have run into each other in business for years, and they are enthusiastic about the idea of having my husband on board. Good news, but nothing is definite, so I am not declaring us ok just yet.

One of the staffers at the crisis line told me I have a great attitude because I described the crazy work situation with my husband and then said "I know everything will work out." I do not get many compliments on my attitude, being a realist and all, so I was flattered.

it was my son's first day of school, and guess what?  he actually liked it.  this is a boy, who after second grade told me that he didn't need to go to third grade because he learned everything he needed to know.

My niece came home from her first day at school (she's 26 now - was 5 then) crying cos she hadn't learnt to read yet.  Everyone had told her she would learn to read when she went to school!  Ha ha.

Yes, this is positive... I think.  Today they are going to do that angio plasty thing in my fistula with a ballon.  Sounds weird, but I want this thing working and it all over  with  so bad that I'm  considering this a positive.

My husband is still boycotting work, waiting for payment of some sort before he returns. He went to my Aranesp shot appointment with me and we had a good long talk with my GP, whom we both adore. My GP is South African, my husband is British, and when you get two non-Americans together, they go into their International Language of Sport and forget I am even there. It was a fun appointment, lots of laughs.

Sadly, he did not forget to give me my Aranesp shot. Why does it have to be so painful? Oh well, done for two weeks!  :cheer:

You know what I like about this thread?

I find that I am always on the lookout for positives to share. And that , of course, means that I'm looking on the positive side all the time.  :clap; :clap; :clap;

I was in the pool earlier than usual today. The sun was still shining and the pool was full of those pretty rainbow wavy light plays. Sooo nice. And there were all sorts of birds, goldfinches, hummers, wrens, titmice, a dove.  :2thumbsup;

I love the positives!

Today was a great day - warm weather, and my husband won tickets to a cultural festival, so we spent the afternoon enjoying various traditional dance, music, and foods. Tomorrow my older son has a playdate with his best friend, and then we are all going to have dinner at their house. They have a younger son who is not much older than our younger boy. Think of us tomorrow evening, trying to eat dinner with 4 boys, all under the age of eight. Sounds relaxing, doesn't it?  :rofl;

Yes.  Sometimes there'll be something quite simple - like a nice day, or the smell of spring or whatever, and I think of this thread.  Isn't that nice.
