I just bought a new tree for my garden and I'm considering it my transplant tree.  It's already about 12 feet tall and has a huge root ball so the nursery will plant it.  It's a Parrotia Persica (Persian Ironwood), cultivar "Vanessa" and I fell in love with it on sight.  I had researched it and when I saw it...well, she had to be mine.  She was expensive but is not very common at all and I talked the nurseryman (grandson of the owner) into a 20% discount since I basically keep them in food every year.
It will grow to about 25 feet but stay 10 feet wide so it's perfect for my space.  Those who know me well, know how passionate I am about all plants but trees in particular and my newfound transplant energy has me wanting to dig like a madwoman.  I am not however doing any actual digging...just supervising the digging.
It is also known for having splendid fall colour, turning first yellow and then bright red.  Time will tell exactly how good this particular tree will perform in that department.
Here are some photos, not of my actual one, but I'll post one of it when it's in the ground.

dietician came by and told me for forget about the diet.  I need to eat everything.  I stopped for a cheeseburger and I'm so so so full.   I feel guilty but I did follow instructios.

ay Dan, enjoy it while you can.  They must want you to build up protein?  My positive today is that I'm changing to a special bag that I add to the machine which means I don't have to do an exchange during the day.  Yay.  I think it's what's called a purple??

Everything is low.  No joke.  Protein, pot, pho....everything else is on the low border end.  Have I been too good?

Enjoy it while it lasts Dan!!!  Hubby was the same way when he changed from PD to hemo!!!  Everything was so low.

Daily positives: it's a long weekend!!!  Hubby fell from the boat ( he was doing some work on it in the driveway).  The ladder slipped when he was on the way down and he fell about 6 or 7 feet and landed on  the ladder.  I took him to the hospital for xrays on his hip and neck. Nothing broken. He is home with a collar on his neck and has to use ice packs on his hip and neck.  he was lucky!!!

Dan sounds good. Well not that everything is low cause that just makes you feel crappy. But being able to enjoy a nice meal sounds good.  I say go to your fav Mexican place and order your fav meal. One you thought you would never be able to eat again.

The rain has held off and I feel great (after a really good night's sleep)! :2thumbsup; :yahoo;

I bought 2 giant ferns and a peony bush for planting and a beautiful mixed container of flowers for our front steps. Couldn't afford it, but gardening makes me happy and lord knows, I need to do some gardening lately!

Also ate at Chipotle tonight. Yummm!!

My friend Gwen insisted on coming over here and cooking me a pot roast.  Nice huh?  If there is any person in the world who is a worse cook that I am, it is my friend Gwen.  Is it really the thought that counts?

Friend Gwen is an old lady that I've known for years (older than me even).  And I have no idea as we aren't that good of friends.

My son's last track meet of the season was today. Saturdays belong to the family again...at least for a couple of months until Cub Scouts picks up again in August. I love summer - fewer scheduled activities, more lazy evenings.

I survived the flea market, in spite of the weather, and actually made some money!  The wind was so bad on Saturday that my tent awning turned into a sail, and we darn near froze to death - it was actually snowing about an hour north of here.  All we got here was rain and more rain - I had to put half my stock in the dryer when we got home - it got soaked when the tent blew down.  It was crazy fun, though, with plenty of friends to help - and I ended up about $150 ahead, so not bad!  I made most of it on Friday, though, when the weather was good. My friends all made at least $50 as well, from the crafts of theirs that I put in my booth for them, so everyone came out ahead.

I'm signed up for another show in June, so apparently I'm either crazy or optimistic.

Is was a good gesture on Gwen's part!   I thought everyone could make a pot roast, but I have tasted some really bad ones.  I, on the other hand, make a wonderful pot roast  :2thumbsup;

My positive: I have been alone all day and have enjoyed the quiet :thumbup;
