[It's just us weird Aussies.

Time to get the vegemite toast out and eat it under the doona I think!!! :-)

another celeste story...

the other night she curled up next to me as usual as it was sleep time, and I had my arm sort of stretched out loosely around her (this is hard to explain - sorry). Anyway it is my fistula arm.. so she moved a bit and curled up in such a way that her head was snuggled against my fistula thrill! So I think she was lfeeling it and imagined it was me "purring" at her... anyway she fell asleep pretty quickly and started dreaming with little kitty twitches but the thrill must have reminded her of being a kitten with her mother because she let out these little kittenish squeaks while dreaming it was simply the cutest thing I have wietnessed for sometime!!!

Great story RichardMel!!!  My niece likes touching my fistula too and feeling the thrill.  She said it reminds her of a cat purring and she should know......there are seven cats in her home.  Her Dad, my brother, is a vet so they're healthy happy kitties too.

Kisses to Celeste and of course to you.

The are all extremely cute!

Unfortunately Napoleon my cat died shortly after I posted a pic of him.  tears and more tears. He was a great cat that lived to 21.

Here is our new dog Luigi. He is a toy poodle that we got from the poodle rescue.

We love him...

KimC, what a cute picture, and so rare, I'm sure, to see them so quiet, together!
RichardMel, I love your stories about Celeste, keep them coming, please!!
MarkM, Luigi does NOT look real!! He looks so much like a tiny toy!!!!

I really do like dog/cat stories, they are so endearing, proving that our babies are just phenomenal!

What a cutie!! (both Mark and his dog!!) :rofl; :rofl;   My poor old dog spends most of his time sleeping now. He can't go up and down the stairs, hardly eats and doesn't want to go outside. His eyes look so sad.  I am afraid every time I leave the house that he will die.  He had been such a good companion and after 15 years, it will be hard to lose him.   He is getting lots attention and love.    The circle of life stinks sometimes!

My Siamese cat is cracking up. She is coming in at 6:30 a.m. and waking us up in the mornings now.  I am on vacation and this sucks. Violence will ensure if this does not stop soon!

Ours come in at 4:00 am. Thy will push the bedroom door open if it is not closed all the way. If the female gets in, she will start to chew on any paper she finds, which gets my attention and then she thinks it's a game to be chased till I get her out of my room and shut the door in her face. I do that to the male cat also because he will whine and jump up on you for food.

If you have bottled water by him and you drink it, run the other way, he will want some and will drink it out of your bottle. :urcrazy;

I am blessed... my Celeste is the best kitty. She NEVER wakes me at weird hours of the morning for food. Never!! She loves to snuggle on the bed and stay there as long as I am there... so if I am not feeling too good and sleep in for some hours she just lies there with me (perfect companion!)... we have an understanding.. dinner is between 6-8pm. So, she waits by the door for me to come home from work or dialysis and then it's food time. If I come home and need a nap and don't feed her, and the clock passes 8pm.. then she comes and does something she KNOWS will get my attention (ie: something annoying! :) ) so I feed her. It's funny because it's almost on the dot of 8... it's like she knows!!! And I can't really be mad at her for that because I'm the one who has broken our little agreement!! Once she's had her food she goes back to being lap kitty #1 and she stops the annoying things and snuggles up.

Though if I am really not feeling well she can also tell and she will come sit on my chest and keep me company which is very sweet and supportive in a catty sort of way.

I think I have it good!!! :)

Sounds like Celeste pretty much has it made too RichardMel.  She definitely chose a great owner.

I think our cat has developed cataracts and meows at the first light of day she can see.  She thinks I am going to be late for work.  I keep telling her I am on break now and do not need her wake up call. Little bitty kitty pieces all over my room!

Have you ever heard that a dog 'knows' when an earthquake is about to
hit?

Have you ever heard that a dog can 'sense' when a tornado is stirring
up, even 20 miles away?

Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck
Southeast Asia, dogs started running frantically away from the seashore,
at breakneck speed?

Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and
danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can 'go for a ride' before you even
ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?

I'm a firm believer that animals - and especially dogs - have keen
insights into the Truth.

And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible
disaster well in advance

Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn't right .. . when
impending doom is upon us . . they'll always try to warn us.... !!

I agree
I do not think that pup put to death for chewing his master's toe was justified
it is creepy
but still
I did not know dogs did that on the tsunami----- interesting
very good post

Well, we have a new pet.  A cat called either McQueen.  I didn't want a pet because I know what happens.  I end up being the person doing all the work while Sam and Chris do the petting.  Sam went for an early morning walk and this cat was up a tree.  She brought it down and no one was around to claim it.  It followed her home (nearly a mile). I was hoping the landlady would say that she didn't want us to have a pet, but it is no problem with her.
This cat is now lord of our household.
Here is a picture of him in our magazine rack, then messing with my UPS and the wires, then being carried by Chris.

oh what a gorgeous kitty!! No wonder he is in charge... they manage to do that VERY quickly.... they are in the door and before long have trained all humans to do just what they want. Gotta love their furry souls.... I write this under the gaze of my own owner... :)

As in McQueen from the Pixar animated movie "Cars".  My grandson is stuck on all things to do with that movie.  Has watched it so often he can quote loads of it.  (Me too, I must confess.  don't tell anyone)
