The idea of sex WHILE on hemo is just wild to me.  Good time for some foreplay and mental stimulation but I'd prefer to wait till I'm not likely to disrupt a needle.  But kudos to all you brave enough to risk it.
Besides, I can't think how we'd accommodate the trapeze!!!  Just kidding y'all.   :rofl;

Yes, to sex with PD while connected for night. I wasnt comfortable but she was so that made it a little easier. Hey with so much tubbing i should have used it to tie her arms and legs to the bedpost.  :bandance;
Yes, to sex with cath in my chest and connected. The recliner is awesome. I'm sure the recliner was invented by the French. Had to be.
Yes, to sex with fistula connected. The recliner again. What can i say. Im not suppose to move so she does all the work.

If we had more privacy at Sarah's clinic there would definitely be a beast with two backs getting dialized, but until then there is always our secret remote controled toy we use to reduce the boredom and as a work-up for whenl we get home.

I just read the title of this topic, sex while on dialysis, and thought that was really kinky. Did anyone else read the title that way, you know sex during a dialysis run. It just seems kind of messy to me.

Ive been on dialysis since 98 and have plenty of sex, It hasn't affected my sex drive one bit,at times its even made me feel like I'm on Viagra,no joke. Like when they had me on a Epo Study, i was hard all the time. Every since 06 when  they put this AV Graft i have now in my abdomen, its like off and on, sometimes i feel like i need some Viagra and other times i feel normal but I'm still sexually active,that'll never change. I just wonder if my access has something to do with it, like maybe its stealing my blood supply

I had a patient who had sex with a tech.  Not sure if the patient was ON Dialysis during the event.  Hopefully not.  Anyway they didn't seem to have any problems with the sex, other than the tech got fired, and the patient got transferred.

   Gonna be blunt so hang on.
   It comes in waves (being horny) Some days just the thought of seeing a vagina makes me cringe while other days I can't stop thinking about it.  Take advantage when the mood strikes.
When I was a teen I asked my doctor about floppy pecker syndrome. He said it had something to do with my fistula and the amount of blood flow.  So take it if ya need it..

                       Good Luck  :bandance;

I don't see why the Tech had to be fired or the patient transfered. If they are both consenting adults and it was not in the center, what is the issue?

It is difficult enough to meet a partner in life. If you are a dialysis patient it just becomes more of a challenge. Apart from the lack of energy to "put yourself" out there, there is constant negativity regarding the way your body looks. I am sure I would have them knocking down the door once they saw the tube hanging from my stomach to below my knees. Lucky for me I was already married before dialysis and my husband is a gem.

The tech was fired by the Dr.  A boundary issue.  Other patients could have percieved that patient was getting "special treatment" from her boyfriend.  First on, extra time, etc... and there were complaints of him putting her on first, paying more attention.  The patient transferred to another clinic after he was let go.

He or she ought to have asked for a transfer as soon as they decided to go on a date.

yeah I can see this from both sides. If I ever dated someone at the unit I'd guess I'd have to transfer out because you can see it. Even if you both agreed to no special treatment etc if the word got out you were dating even the IDEA that it could happen would spread.

Heck at my unit some old guy complains when I get put on earlier sometimes. Why? Not because I'm having sex with anyone there (ugh, no candidates anyway despite them all being absolutely lovely LOL) but he comes in way earlier than he should, so then whinges when I come in on time and get on because he's been waiting longer. Well duh dude.. if you come in extra early on the off hope a spot will be available (sometimes yes, sometimes no) and there isn't a spot you will have to wait longer... how you can then complain that I got better treatment because I got on when I come in is stupid... but you know what? This one time they told me to go and wait even though my chair was ready because they didn't want to upset the old guy who complains. I felt like complaining about THAT but decided to not stoop to that level. Sheesh!!! Luckily another time this happened the nurse that was looking after me said screw that. The machine's ready and put me on.....

I have been seeing someone for a few weeks now, and I must admit I did feel a bit embarrassed at first because of my scars etc, but he has been very accepting and isnt squeamish at all around me and has even read up on dialysis a bit! So I must say all of my shyness around him went away lol!

Wouldn't it be really uncomfortable having sex in those dialysis chairs?!?!?   :rofl;

OK I will contribute to the silliness :)

We have new chairs in our unit which are wider than the previous ones.... so whenever I picture this particular topic it would be even harder to maneuver than before!!! LOL I think you would need to be a pair of gymnasts to do it properly!!  :rofl; I'd rather do it at home I think :)
