This last week I have been on Vacation in Palm Springs. Did ya miss me?

We started dinners with a meat pizza onenight, then another night a bacon cheese sourdoughburger,  another night barbequed pork off the grill done by me.

How the hell did I lose three pounds?

All that walking. My husband and I both lost 5 pounds walking around Las Vegas for a week!

I'm having a sandwich for dinner tonight (again). That's all I eat when my husband's out of town. I'm not cooking for just me!   :P

Went to a "Simply Tastefully" extortion sales party hosted by a friend.  You know, one of those where they invite you over so you can buy things you don't need so they can get free stuff?  At least this one sold food - which I can use, even it was a bit pricey.  (An improvement over the last couple I went too - overpriced costume jewelry that I don't wear, and overpriced candles that make me sneeze.) Most of the really tasty stuff had too much phosphate in it.  I think we sampled about 30 different products.  Who needs a meal after that?

They had a mix for beer bread that was wonderful.  Too many added phosphates in the mix, but now I'm going to have to go raid my father-in-law's stash of beer and make some from scratch - yummmmmmmm!

Well my sister Fiona came over to cook for us with her Hubbie Kevin and my niece Renee. We had potato salad, garden salad, corn on the cobs and steaks.
Taste better when you don't cook !

I'm dying to try their pumpkin pancakes, but we don't have an IHOP anywhere near us. The closest one is an hour away!   :(

Today was red beans & rice with sour cream. ANd water. I had apple salad earlier AND citrus salad. Man, that was so good. My red beans & rice is VERY simple. Chilii beans with onons & celery in it, tomato sauce, kielbasa sausage, and rice. That's it, usually. I may add other stuff, but that's my basic recipe. BAD for me, so it's an annual indulgence for me.
