What's for supper?

Sloppy joes, fruit shish kabobs, and a large dose of tylenol for the headache.  I helped my friend with her little girl's 11th birthday party.  Amazing how loud 8 little girls can be.  I'm used to dealing with my nephew and his little friends, and they do yell, but not in the high pitch, break the mirrors screech that girls that age seem to make in groups.

I was good - no cake or ice cream!

salad with creamy italian dressing, Fettucinni Alfredo, and bread, along with Spumoni for dessert.  The Ole Spaghetti Factory dinner. mmmmmm!

Tonight was leftover's... we had left over roast that just fell apart so yummy it was cooked in a crock pot all day, gravy, mashed potatoes, and whole kernal corn. I put it on my plate like this:

1 slice of white bread
topped with mashed potatoes
topped with whole kernal corn
topped with gravy

I put my meat on the side with ketchup on it. Yummmmmmm!

I just HAD to tell you all what I had tonight! My dietitian came by and finally told me why my heart has been hurting. You would never believe it but ... MY Potassium is LOW! So I had PIZZA!!!! Sure .. a small one .. with my phosphate binders .. but you can believe I am like feeling like it is an EARLY Christmas!!

Exactly right. Low potassium is just as dangerous as high potassium and has much the same symptoms and consequences. You might want to get it checked again soon angie to see what its doing.

The Neph said we'd just wait til the blood work results but then he had to go out of town and the other Neph didn't see it important enough to come by so only the Dietitian came by and talked to me. She wrote this on my sheet:

"a little low, Angela" (ya they call me by my birth name instead of just Angie like everywhere else) "include 1 higher potassium choice/day - esp. after dialysis"

That was why I had it Friday after dialysis. I got home too late for anything other than pizza however.

I like pizza, but hardly ever have it.  One night I ordered it in and boy did it taste yummy.   I can make my own out of croissant biscuit dough. Just lay it out and put pizza sauce and cheese on it.  Bake.

Mmmmmmmmm!  Last night we had a pork loin roast that I cooked most of the day in a crock pot.  I put a can of mushrooms and a can of Golden Mushroom soup on the roast, then about 3:00 in the afternoon I added baby carrots and tiny potatoes to the crock pot.  My sister made gravy out of the drippings, it was delicious!

It's kind of strange that now they want me to eat MORE protein.  I'm so used to limiting protein, I'm having a hard time getting used to the new rules.  I can't eat very much because I'm so full from the PD, so I ate mostly the roast, but it sure was good!

Tonight i feast on Abondigas (spanish for meatball soup)  It has the meatballs (naturally)   squash, carrots, celery, potatoes, corn and rice.  Just squeeze some lemon on it and take it all in, yummmm, nice when its so cold out

I watched the food network most of the afternoon at dialysis.  After a couple of hours of watching them cook all these divine dishes, I came home to ramens with steamed veggies.  Yeesh, what a let down!

Rachael Ray scares me. .. . is she really that perky, or is there some special seasoning in her sauce recipe?
