What's for supper?

Lobster pizza sounds delicious!!!  I had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.  Yum!!!

Kung pao chicken and black pepper chicken, with white rice, from (erk) Panda Express. Yummy, but a little over the top. At least I don't eat there more than once every couple of weeks.

Over on Twitter, I got up the nerve to ask Rick Bayless what I should do with some of the hot dried chiles I have, other than salsa. He recommended I fry them in oil with peanuts, garlic, and salt as a snack. It sounds really good.

In case you don't know him, Rick Bayless is a pretty famous chef of Mexican food. He's done shows on PBS, and recently he won the Top Chef Masters competition. It's pretty cool that he's so available on Twitter that I can ask a question and get some advice.

With that recipe in my head, tonight before I got my kung pao chicken I fried up some of those dried peppers until they smelled like popcorn. I added three into my kung pao, and I have the rest sitting here that I'll try to snack on (yes, they'll blow my head off, but that's the fun part!).

Nothing!!!!!!! Not now, not ever. Anything you eat is bad for you. I am going to live on water and nothing else.  I was doing so well on the low potassium diet and then they gave me the renal diet. Now I am so confused, I no longer know what in the devil to eat.

I cooked cod fish tongues tonight!!  Here is a pic of them frying.  They were crispy and delicious.  For those of you who think eating anythings tongue is gross think about where eggs come from LOL!!!

I know where eggs come from but I don't eat the butt holes.....

Oooooo, thank you for the Rick Bayless reminder! I tried one of his recipes from Mexico A Plate at a Time (I think that's the right name) last year and it was so awesome. I have been in a vegetarian rut lately, but I looked up his recipe for Ha'Si Kil Pac again, and bought pepitas yesterday. Today, the preparing begins.... Oh, and that is very cool that he answers questions on twitter. Good for you for asking him!

I had the most delicious and juicy tomato fresh out of the garden with mayo on fresh italian bread sandwich, I hate it when summer is comming to an end and all the fresh veggies and fruit end.

     That is my favorite sandwich!  A fresh tomato still warm from the sun, mayo and some wonderful bread.  Heavenly!  Or just eat it like an apple.

What's the deal about Fried Green Tomatoes?  Is that just a saying.  Last year I planted tomoatoes, etc. looking forward to a vine  ripe one.  I got two good ones and three with bird pecks.

Fried green tomatoes are wonderful!  But, here, we love everything deep fried     They really are good and are on a lot of restaurant menus here.   Yummy!

I made cabbage rolls today because Del made some a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the idea, Del.

Last night I had fried breaded okra (frozen and prebreaded) , field peas with snap (frozen) and I wanted a homemade tomato to  bad.  Would have been a perfect meal... and yes, there's enough for leftovers.

The tomato would have made that a great meal (except I hate okra  --- fried, in stew, anyway at all - yuck!)

That is  so funny Cheryl.  As a kid I always wrote the menu for my birthday dinner.  That was one of three things you could expect at my  house on my birthday from ages 3 to 39 (but fresh tomatoes were a requirement!!! 

Tomato is a fruit, not a female.  The British part of me morphed into Texan years ago.  A Brit with field peas?  Get serious!  A chick, however, would  not refer to garbanzo beans....
