Beer has lots of carbos, although I suppose the light version wouldn't be as bad.
Jeff I think that is why it is so bad for any diabetics since Al in my unit told me that all carbs are bad for diabetics and Cam in my unit told me that is why corn chips are no better that potato chips for him.. :(

Joe's diabetic, and his nephrologist actually told him to drink a glass of wine a day if he wanted to.  This was before he started dialysis though, so I don't know if that changes.

Wow, Goofynina, is that enough protein?
I struggle to get enough protein. It has improved but needs to a little more.

Went to Carrows and had the Mile High Bacon and Cheese sandwhich. Ate one piece of the sandwhich and three fries and was full. Surgery recovery sucks.  Had to tear apart the sandwhich to eat it and not bend the neck too much. Had a bit of chocolate cream pie a friend was having.  Not bad. The calcium tablets for binders.  Yummy.

Awww, go on Goofynina have the chili dog.  First let us make it renal friendly....
Take out the hot dog- the nitrates and phosphorous are not renal friendly.
Take the chili off the bun- the beans are not good for you- high phosphorous
The cheese has to go- high phosphorous
The mustard is salty- off it goes.
The mayo- is fattening- off it goes.
Now you have a bun left- you know wheat products are high in phosphorous. Put it down.
Well now eat what you have left in your hand....
There is nothing there??? Oh I am sorry. We tried to make it a renal friendly meal! :banghead;

Back to the rice cakes and water....uh oh... no water.  damn!

Love ya girl!

didn't have supper but for lunch went to one of
the best places in Ohio to eat - The Der Dutchman with a friend.
An Amish restaurant.  has menu and buffet.
Some beef, turkey, bit of dressing, corn, tiny bit of potatoes/noodles,
cauliflour/broccoli salad, fruit, homemade applesauce, soooooooo good.
Lunch was crowded, but not a wait.  It is a large place.
In evenings or weekends you usually have to wait for a table, but there
is a nice gift shop to browse while you wait, and a fireplace to sit in front
of.

Chicken adobo and rice again.  It's a staple around here.  Only really bad thing in it is the soy sauce, but we use lower-sodium soy sauce, plus not a lot of it, plus Joe doesn't eat the sauce from the dish, so hopefully it keeps it to a minimum.
