They were out of generators here.

Twirly, it doesn't seem like it is going to be so bad anymore. Probably only a Cat 2 when it hits.

My last fortune cookie said, "The love of your life is right in front of your eyes." I was having lunch with hubby.
The one before that said, "One must kiss a few frogs before Prince Charming comes along."
Now hubby thinks he is the Prince Charming. I told him he was one of many frogs along the way!

Today for dinner, I made chili. We are trying to use the meat in the freezer before Hurricane Ike turns off the electricity.

and bought more so I could feel justified by eating it
counts as fluid
we do not have a generator
they were out
and we never learn our lesson and buy one when it is not needed

Leftover chili for lunch.

Does anyone have any creative ideas for ground beef? I'm trying to clean out the fridge just in case...

MIbarra, how about a meatloaf. If you loose power you can always have a meatloaf sandwich. I hope things go well for you. I will be thinking about you.  :cuddle;

Chinese buffet on the way back from Nashville. It was awful. Now I'm watching for Twirl on the weather channel. Ike looks nasty.

Really good Ace Bakery baguette (white unfortunately but renally correct),  hamburger made with baguette crumbs, parsley, garlic.  Accompanied by roasted red peppers, grilled portobello mushrooms and onions plus a side salad of mostly belgian endives.

Tonight I made chicken fajitas but I put the meat in a wheat pita... (dang diabetes!  I sooo wanted them on flour tortillas!)

I also had a diet sunkist coolwhip shake.

Having toast for dinner because lunch was so good.  I had grilled salmon over stir-fried bean sprouts with snow peas, steamed rice, salad with ginger dressing, and veggie tempura with one shrimp tempura.  I skipped the miso soup because of too much sodium.

Tonight we had cabbage stew with cabbage, tomatoes and sausage.  Yummy!

MIbarra.... I mix frozen cool whip with diet Sunkist to make a shake.... it is sooo good!  You can't tell it has DIET sunkist in it.

Goat Cheese Pizza is delicious!

2 Pizza Crust... spread alfredo sauce on each one (not too much or your toppings will slide off), put a layer of canadian bacon (or whatever toppings you like.. I don't suggest pepperoni though because it overpowers the pizza), layer of blackened chicken ( I do not cut the chicken in small pieces... I use strips that are kinda chunky), layer of mozzarella cheese, chunks (not too big) of goat cheese.... thats it :)   I have also put spinich and black olives.
