Twirl,

We used the left-over turkey to make green chili enchiladas! Much better than eating turkey for breakfast, turkey for lunch, and turkey for dinner... I also like to make turkey and noodle soup.

We are having mystery dinner tonight. Katie, one of the "roomates", is making dinner. Don't know what the heck it is! Hope it is good.

My daughter went to see the Nutcracker tonight with her grandmother, so I took my son out for pizza.  I had 4 pieces.  Not the healthiest choice, but when I saw it, it was the first time I have been hungry in over a month and the most I have eaten in a long time.  My son even said, "Wow, you ate Daddy!"

I finally gave in and stopped at Boston Market, got a baked ham dinner..ham had apple and cranberry chutney, mashed potatoes, gravy and squash casserole and binders.   :rofl;

03/2007 Fantastic Eye Surgeon in ND got my sight back and implanted lenses in both eyes, great distance & low reading.
Gortex 4/07.  Started dialysis in ND 5/4/2007
Gortex clotted off Thanksgiving Week of 2007, was unclotted and promptly clotted off 1/2 hour later so Permacath Rt chest.
3/2008 move to NC to be close to children.
2 Step fistula, 05/08-elevated 06/08, using mid August.
Aug 5, 08, trained NxStage and Home on 9/3/2008.
Fistulagram 09/2008. In hospital 10/30/08, Bowel Obstruction.
Back to RAI-Latrobe In Center. No home hemo at this time.

They were asking about my albumin level being funky and were wondering if I was eating.  Seems I am only good for one light meal a day.  I crave fruit.

Green onion, parmesan and cream cheese omelet with Persian flatbread.  Salad with homemade balsamic vinaigrette.  No dessert.

Big lunch out with three of my girlfriends tomorrow.  Haven't yet decided where.

It's a big week!  I am going out to lunch on Thursday with a bunch of women friends from work. 

The traditional started in 2004 when my students gave me a gift certificate for a nice restaurant/martini bar in Williamsburg for my 50th birthday (this is one perk of having grad students as opposed to 5th graders).  I decided it would be fun to share it with friends, so I volunteered to buy  the martinis as a way to convince them that it would be okay to take one afternoon off from work for FUN.  We went for lunch, I drank my first martinis, and we laughed and laughed and laughed.  Actually I drank one martini too many... I was afraid that might happen, so I had rented a car and a driver!  After lunch the driver took us to a bridal shop where my friend Debbie had an appointment to pick out a wedding veil to go with her dress.  I'm not kidding.  Try to imagine five women, ranging in age from 35 to 60, trying on wedding veils for an hour.  Actually, since I eloped, it was my first time ever to try on a wedding veil.

The group has grown to 11.  The owner of the martini bar went to jail for embezzlement, so that place is out.  We're going to a French restaurant instead.

Sounds superbe.   I'm still chuckling over the wedding veil.  And the elopement.  I had 5 people at my wedding, including us and we went in the wrong door at City Hall so had to run the gauntlet of hookers and pimps and the like who were there for court cases. 

Shame about the embezzlement but I'm sure you'll all have fun at the French restaurant.  Bon appétit.

I took my girlfriend out for dinner for her birthday last night.  I had a salad to start with, she had lobster/shrimp bisque.  Then we each had a broiled fillet of red snapper with lemon thyme butter, steamed baby carrots, green beans and baby beets and a "galette"  (like a small flat cake) of mashed potatoes that were pressed into black sesame seeds and lightly pan fried till crisp on each side.
For dessert we shared a Tiramisu and had espresso macciatos as well.   I skipped lunch yesterday and breakfast today to do it.  Was well worth it.
