Our cat Woody has been eating twice as much as normal but not gaining weight. They did a ton of lab work and determined he has a thyroid problem, which can be controlled with medication. So I started tonight giving him 1/2 of a small pill smashed up in his food. He is so savvy, just stared at the plate, then back at me. He is always suspicious of new smells. He is also impossible to give a pill to, you might as well just stick your hand in the garbage disposal because that what it's feel like after he's ripped your hand open. Hopefully he will start eating it in his food. There's a way to make a topical transdermal gel that you apply to the skin in the ears, but it's expensive and doesn't work for every cat. Wish us luck!
No -- you're thinking of Tiger, our other boy - gone... but not forgotten.
