I have Alport's Syndrome. My kidneys failed when I was 14 and I was on PD for five years before receiving a kidney transplant from my mother. That kidney failed in 2004 and I've been back on PD ever since. I am undergoing treatment for my high antibodies at Cedars-Sinai medical center. I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008. My boyfriend was the donor.

I left him a message around 8 central time this morning but haven't heard anything. I think he was hoping to get out Sunday but I don't know if that was wishful thinking or not.

Talked briefly with Boxman today. No change so they are checking the veins going down to the infected foot and are looking for a way to open them up better to increase blood flow. Boxman sounded a little down. No one likes to be cooped up in the dang hospital, but as he said he is doing whatever he can to get well. He also said he misses all of us here at IHD as much as we miss him.
Please help brighten his spirits by dropping a note in the mail. Thanks.

Thank you all for your well wishes. They let me come home for the weekend. I have a big choice to make on Monday the 5th I have to either have almost all of the rest of my foot cut off or have a below the knee amputation. With the long process I have gone through trying to heal the first amputation, I am leaning toward the below the knee because it will allow me to heal faster, get a prothesis and eventually walk again.I will try and keep you posted...Boxman

I tend to agree, Boxman. Just taking the rest of the foot may be a "band aid" solution. BTW, it's great to see your smilin' face back on here.
