I picked something new up while at the train station in Chicago. I noticed while there that there is a train from O'Hare to Union Station, which then you could take to other towns.  I am not sure if there is a train to the other train station that goes to Tinely Park as one way to save some money and then take a taxi to the hotel from the Tinley Park station. Although that would be a time consuming way to travel.

I hope so. We did it last year and had one meeting in Vegas. This year we are having two so some of the members that can not travel that far might find this one closer.

Yes, I know, but there is a sign posted that trains that travel from Ohare to Union Station and  was wondering if they had service like that to the LaSalle Station as one possible means of traveling from the airport to the hotel. I should have wrote that better last night. Also not sure if there is a cab number posted at the Tinely Park station like they do at the one I go to.

I am getting excited about going to Chicago! It was so great to see everyone last year in Vegas. It's funny how people's real personalities come out in their typed words in posts, so you feel like you really know them when you first meet and speak. It's really a wonderful connection! After the IHD meeting I get to see my sister on Sunday (she's in Wisconsin) so I doubly am happy!

Just a reminder. I am going to look them up on the internet to see if they post a menu. My one concern, finding the place since my familiarity with Tinley Park is limited.

They have other choices besides tomato based food. order what ever you want. Nothing says you have to order anything particular. The pricing and information we posted is only to give everyone an idea of pricing.

So, here's the deal.  The orginal booking is for the banquet room, family style @ $13.50.  Yes, pasta, pizza.meatballs appetizer combo and soft drinks.    Use of the banquet room is based on 30 or more, so I paid the deposit and booked the room going by the number of people who were coming.  The economy has made many have to re-evalutate their plans.   It doesn't look like there will be anywhere near that number.   The restaurant will call this week to go over plans.  That is why I really need a good count.  We may have to just not use the banquet room and have a different set up.    Best laid plans---------    Some on the orginal list haven't posted for quite some time.        Most food makes me :puke;!!   My husband says I am a cheap date because I hardly order anything when we eat out.  I don't think any one restaurant will work for everyone.  I am sure we can work things out. I will ask the restaurant when I talk to them.   Maybe they will refund my deposit and we can just have reservations in the dining room and order off the menu.    Now I am getting stessed and this is suppose to be fun!!

Well I did look at the menu and found some things that interest me. Ordering it and finishing it is another story. Plus I am still not sure what the plans are for Friday and Saturday. I'm trying to plan out spending to be able to do something, yet still have money for the rest of the month when I start school

Don't worry Paris. There is no way to pick the perfect everything, that is why I asked for help in arranging the plans. I will definitely be there as well as Christy and maybe Josh. I am responsible for a few rooms that probably won't be used as well but I wanted to make sure that we had enough rooms available. This happens at every event that I have ever planned, not just IHD. It's normal. Don't stress out because worse case scenario is you will have to visit me.  :rofl;

Thanks, Sluff.  I've got some other things going on here and I think my stress level is up because of that.   I am sure the restaurant will work out fine.

Chris,  I think people just want to visit on Friday--those who are there.   Saturday night, the option will be there to go to Navy Pier and a river or sunset cruise.   The hotel has continental breakfast, so I imagine most will meet up in the morning.   My husband likes to go do things, and he has been looking at museums, etc to visit.  I don't walk far or fast right now, so he may do more than me  and may be looking for someone to explore with him.   We are flying in,renting a car and will be there sometime Friday--hopefully early afternoon.   And we are family, so just come and we will all do what we can do.

Looking forward to getting out of town, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. :2thumbsup;
