Here in Dallas there are several:

Snuffer's - great burger and loaded cheese fries
Jakes

When I lived in Ohio, White Castle was the best after a night on the town.  Living in Texas I now have to settle for the frozen.  We do have one our two Krystal's, same kind of burger as White Castle but for some reason I like White Castle's better.  The next day stinks though and I'm not talking about being hung over.

TMI   ;D

I'll be in trouble for saying this because my home town is the headquarters for Krystal but I have to agree.  I think the White Castle burgers are better.

If you're ever in the North Bay of California (also known as the Wine Country) first off, come say hi!  Then I'll take you to the most amazing burger joint north of the Golden Gate...Mike's One Burger in Cotati.

For the last five years, this location has won the Best Burger Joint in the local independent paper's reader survey.  Be warned, they don't serve french fries (I know, what a travesty) but their menu explains why.

Every time I have a guest and they're in the mood for some good protein, I take them there.

Oh yeah, and the waitresses are gorgeous.

Hay I am going to be up in Winsdor, CA the last week of June. Can I take you up on that offer of a burger?

Best burger I've ever had was at this Hawaiian themed restaurant at the shops at Planet Hollywood in Vegas! It had grilled pineapple and guacamole on it! Yum!!   :2thumbsup;

Have to agree, Whopper is better in the fast food arena and home cooked. haven't been to any other places that have a good burger.

Well lets see, When we lived in California it was Fat Burger and In to Springfield, Mo area about 2 yeaand Out.  Fat burger had an availably fried egg on them and it was the bomb.  Since we moved to Springfield, Mo area I would have to say Backyard Burgers.  Their double is awesome and filling.  However nothing beats one made on the grill in the back yard with good, fresh ground sirloin.   OK, enough enough, I'm getting really hungry.

As usual, I continue to make my burgers (vegetarian) at home.

Recently I discovered Fry's Vegetarian Burgers. They come in a pack of about 8 or 10 or something, in the frozen section of the supermarket. They're not full of good ingredients or anything - mainly just wheat gluten, like a lot of other vegetarian "substitute" products, but I do like them fried up real well and put on my burger with cheese, egg, tomato, onion and mustard. mmmmmmm.

I could be wrong, but doesn't egg and cheese rule out it being a veggie burger?  :rofl; :rofl;

I should elaborate:

lacto-ovo-vegetarians (that's me): consume dairy and eggs as well as plant foods
lacto-vegetarians: consume dairy as well as plant foods (but no eggs)
vegans: consume ONLY plant foods. No animal-derivatives whatsoever. Or even insect really - many vegans will not even consume honey as it comes from bees.

Some people make these decisions for ethical reasons, others (like me) make their decision based on personal tastes.

Sorry, wasn't being serious when I made that comment. But the info is good. However I still believe you need the egg and cheese to cover up that awful tasting (my experience) veggie burgertaste, which wouldn't make it a true veggie burger?  :rofl; :rofl;

When I think of toasted buns, I think of toast and how crispy it is. I never had buns for a hamburger toasted, does that come out the same way as toast? I'm use to the soft buns you get from Burger King, Mc Donald's, Wendy's, ect.

Not as crispy as toast. I just toast mine lightly under the grill. Sometimes I put the cheese on before toasting, so it melts in. Yummmmmmmmm.
