Monrein, darling, you look so lovely and, most wonderfully, happy! I spent my birthday in Paris this year as well, feeling très chic and enormously lucky the entire time.

Joyeux anniversaire!

I was living in the UK during the "Great Storm of 1987."  Couldn't get to work for days because of all of the fallen trees on the tracks!  Anyone remember Michael Fish's infamous BBC weather prediction?  LOL!  I see he's still around!

Yep, I got the day off school! Yay! I thought that the Michael Fish 'prediction' was a myth ... he said it earlier than they thought and in a slightly different context or something.  A tree fell down in his garden this weekend. Divine retribution.

I survived this storm.  Mum's house survived the storm although she nearly lost a garden chair and one fence panel between her garden and next doors fell down.  We also lost electric for about half an hour ... Sugarlump lost if for much longer (assume she has it back now). When I got back home last night the rotten, leaning, ancient fence between our house and next door was still standing. Apparently the storm missed my town (we're only seventy-ish miles northern-ish from Mum's house.) I was desperate for the fence to fall down so that a) she'd get a new one erected (it's her boundary) and b) I could get into her garden and cut the ivy growing on MY garage before it damages the guttering and the roofline (her gate is padlocked and she's in a care home somewhere.)

*sigh*

Celebrating my 60th birthday in Paris...so lucky and grateful for so much.  My husband admitted to me this morning that there have been times he thought I would'nt see 50.  Life is so unpredictable.

Belated birthday wishes! ♥

In the run up to Remembrance Day on the 11th, my grandfather was asked to join other veterans to give a talk to some whippersnappers about WWII (as Archie Bunker would say "the big one").  We had guys talking from the Korean War and recent conflicts too.  Anyways, it was my job to tottle him around, "babysit" and feed him cookies.  It exhausted me and no idea how I'll manage tomorrow!  I'm off for a nap now...  :pray;

It's Blokey's birthday tomorrow (Sunday) so we'll be spending the day being force-fed by my MiL.

This morning I was rudely awoken by a hungry cat and then had to get out of bed to clean up cat vomit after the other cat puked her tummy contents up.  Blasted cats.  We saw Gravity at the cinema and then I went for a two hour kip this afternoon and was woken up over five hours later by Blokey, wanting to know if I was getting up for dinner (it was 10pm and the smells from the slowcooker cooking chicken and veg was divine) or staying in bed till tomorrow morning!  I was dreaming about watching a sitcom.  It was quite funny, for a made-up one in my head.

I'll never get to sleep tonight now.

Went to Hobby Lobby to get some craft supplies yesterday. We went out to dinner last night. Had some divine Prime rib! Today, I have a vendor show that I'm going to and then of to the Hallmark store to use my coupon! I think I'll try out my new deep fryer to make dinner tonight. A little homemade fried chicken! Yum!

 :guitar: HEY IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!
This weekend we go to a cottage we have hired for Christmas with our two dogs, four children, two grandchildren and hangers on!!!
WE have decorations to put up and food to prepare.
Presents to wrap and put under the tree.

My ham is boiling gently in coke-cola and later to be roasted with marmalade, brown sugar and treacle...
My christmas cake, nicely topped up with port, is ready to ice
and I collect the turkey on Monday from the local farm shop...
Yes it's definitely Christmas!!!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  :guitar:

Have an amazing Christmas, Sugar!  You deserve it after all the hospital malarkey of the last couple of weeks!

Awww, how lovely. I don't think I'd have the patience for that!

We're having a relaxing weekend, probably involving nothing but a couple of trips to the cinema and vegging on the settee.  I've cleaned and tidied today and will be wrapping presents this afternoon.  I finished work yesterday (go back on the 6th) and Blokey's last day is today (he also goes back on the 6th).  Christmas will officially begin on Christmas Eve afternoon and finish late on Boxing Day evening.  Huzzah!

When I first read that I thought you were taking your friend to the groomer!!! as well as her dog  8)
Took both our dogs to groomers on Thursday for a bath and nail trim etc ready for Christmas. Suzi came back with a festive bow on her collar and Murphy came
back with that look on his face that says I smell like a girl!!!!  8)

I have been very good about tending to my ankle and wearing that silly boot (2 weeks to go!!) Being good = Sheer boredom!!! It's time for me to do something enjoyable!

Today I am going to make cookies, of which I will eat very few, they will be passed out at work and of course I need to save many of them for my boyfriend. lol  I am making molasses cookies (specifically for my boyfriend) oatmeal butterscotchies, I also found morsels on sale yesterday, so chocolate chip and I've never had or tried these before, white chocolate morsels. I have no idea how that will go but I am willing to give it a shot! Merry Christmas everybody, I hope your day is full of love and peace.

Nothing lol

I'm in the middle of a big bad ice storm where I live so I'm staying in.      :)       Not risking falling on ice and getting a fracture, I guess tx recipients are more suscepitble to fractures due to the prednisone from my understanding so I'm not chancing going out in this bad storm.

I'm just really glad I had all my Christmas shopping done before it hit!        :clap;
