I took my car to the garage for a service and walked the 25 minutes home. Hit the wall at the ten minute mark but kepy going and got my second wind. What an adventure. Must try it again next year!
Once again, I am confused. Are the shoes for you, Blokely or BB (Blokey's brother)? Oh, and I've taken the trimming and mowing in only one way - the way it was intended! You minx!!
I sent out invitations to an open house for my pro bono clinic students for Saturday, June 22. My sister bravely volunteered her cottage on the lake, as well as the pontoon, the paddle boat, the canoe, the two fishing boats, the three kayaks, and the bonfire pit for the day. I sent some seriously casual emails and facebook messages to about 2 dozen people, figuring if I got 9 or 10 who could come, it would be a fun day. The invite was basically "Cottage open house, daylight until too dark to drink around the bonfire, boat tours and fishing on the 80 acre chain of lakes and wetlands, kid friendly, guests welcome, bring a dish to pass, BYOB." I figured I'd throw some brats and hot dogs on the grill for the few who could come, grab a couple bags of chips, put out a heaping bowl of fresh strawberries, bring the stuff to make s'mores, and call it good.I've heard back from only about half of the people I've invited so far. Only one said no. Current head count for the party, including kids and guests, is 26. Oh my.
Can I come? I survived Dyl's birthday and now have a friendly warning, jbeany. Combine alcohol and a sunny, picturesque environment and your guests will not leave without a court order (and given that they know the legal system so well, probably not even then!)
... Combine alcohol and a sunny, picturesque environment and your guests will not leave without a court order (and given that they know the legal system so well, probably not even then!) We did not offer gift bags for the kids because I so detest those things filled with plastic crap, so we had to resort to handing each child a balloon and saying within earshot of the parents (happily enjoying a warm afternoon, sipping the lager and cider on offer) 'Here ya go, sweetheart! This is for you TO TAKE HOME.'
It's not really *that* hard to wrap things up -- just run out of lager & cider!
Sure, fly on over!
This weekend, I am going through all of my stuff and getting rid of anything I don't need, use or can't or shouldn't wear anymore.I gotta say, it's rather freeing.I'm sure I'm not going to get it all done in one weekend, but it sure is quite a start!KarenInWA
