Beany - Have you thought going back to work as a temp? I did that after having the kids. Three of the four temp positions I worked at asked me to stay on as a fulltime worker. Two of them I wouldn't have touched with a barge pole but the third one was a lovely place to work. It would give you time to thoroughly check them out, too.
Survived another interview. I think it went well, not that you can ever really tell. (It's easy to tell if it went bad, not so easy to tell if it went great!)

(It's easy to tell if it went bad, not so easy to tell if it went great!) When I had the interview for the position I have now I thought I'd done SO badly that when they rang me the next day and offered me the job I blurted out (without thinking), 'But I came across really badly!' and the lady (who is really senior in a place of 700-ish employees) laughed and insisted that I came across brilliantly.
This dinner lady (as they call them) ...

I have no idea why they think it's important that I know the exact percentage of people under the age of 19 living in the UK, but then, when I taught citizenship to refugees in the US, I never knew why I had to make them memorize who said "Give me liberty or give me death."
