Not much. One load of laundry. Some organizing. Helped Carl look through old slides that his brother-in-law dropped off at our house a few weeks back. Carl realized that he is the last living person on earth who might have any connection to these old slides.  :'(

The list of what I did NOT do (and should have) is far longer. Oops!

10 things on my to-list today.  Accomplished so - a big fat ZERO.  Hmmm....

Might be time to get the procrastination thread going again!

I was rudely woken up at midday, upon which I stripped the house of decorations, dusted available surfaces and ran the hoover across the floors.  The bathroom and kitchen also saw a bit of cleaning fluid.  Christmas is well and truly over.

Took down the Xmas stuff, resorted it all into new containers, put some of it into the donate pile, took apart a beat up wreath to salvage the wire frame and some of the garland and tossed the beat-up ribbon and faded florals, and replaced and rearranged the non-seasonal decor.  Worked for a bit on more tote bags to sell.  Well, that's three of the 10 things off the list, (1. more totes, 2. take down Xmas, 3. sort and repack it into boxes I can lift easily.) at any rate.  Time for a dinner break and then I'll see how much more I can do today.

Paid bills.  One more thing off my to-do-list.  Made another tote bag.  One more to add to my stock for summer.  If I keep going, I may have enough to do a craft show by mid-summer, and then I can make retail on them instead of wholesale.  Much better deal!

I took me a day and a half of cleaning and sorting, but the home office room- The Room of Doom- is sorted and organized.  I started it the 30th and worked all 7 a.m until dialysis at 6p.m. Then I continued today.
All book shelves have been sorted and cleaned out in here. I dusted the nic-nacs and books, too.
A bookshelf was moved.
I cleaned and dusted the top of the desk.
I cleaned out the paper work on top of the desk.
I cleaned out the desk drawers.
I cleaned out the file cabinet and shredded old documents.
I cleaned and organized the DVD closet.
I even wrote my birthday gift thank you cards.

Whew!

Kitkat, you're making me feel ashamed of myself!

I did do a bit of that kind of sorting.  I cleared and filed a lot of random stuff while I paid bills, so my desk doesn't look too bad right now.  If I can find a job any time soon, I can get rid of the heaps of job apps and resume clutter, too.  That will help.  I hate paper clutter.  The cats always turn it into a snow drift!

My accomplishment for the day was managing to go to bed before 3 am last night, and waking up before noon.  The term at the law school clinic where I volunteer starts in a week - time to get back on a human schedule instead of a vampire sleep cycle.  I was doing really well at going to bed by 10 pm until I got sick just before the holidays!

Yay!  The entire house is now vacuumed, and the living room is rearranged so that my favorite chair is closer to the heat vent and farther from the cold window.  Now to catch my breath and see if I have the ambition to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the kitchen floor.   :P

I skipped the floor and made another tote bag instead.  8 done.  Two more and I'll have enough to pack up and store in my nearly-inaccessible closet until craft show season starts.  5 packs and I can sign up for a show.  10 packs and I can make some decent money from the show....

I've gotten more Christmas put away. I usually leave the Snowmen and "Wintery" things out through January. It's just a matter of rearranging now. More laundry to do, seems like a neverending cycle!   :rofl;

I fixed my car lights!   :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;

The instrument panel went dark in my car a couple weeks ago.  Really annoying, but I didn't think much of it.  When I went to see my BIL the next week, I had him look at it.  He replaced the fuse on my cigarette lighter, which was also dead, but after checking all the other fuses that were were labeled in the manual as anything that seemed related to the instrument panel, he came up empty.  Ah, well, we figured it must be a bulb.  That's a mess to fix since the whole dashboard usually has to come out, but I was planning on taking my car to a friend's mechanic-hubby anyhow, because the light bulbs and one of the covers are shot on the plate lights, and the bolts that hold them in place are rusted shut and snap off when you turn them.  The bolts need to be redrilled and some of the connectors need to be replaced.  I figured he could do both jobs at the same time.  It wasn't going to be scheduled until after the holidays, but there was no huge rush - I take the bus most of the time anyhow, so driving after dark is a rare thing for me.

A few days after that, my sister mentioned my running lights were out on the back of my car when I left her house that night after BIL looked at it.  WHAT?  She thought I knew, since I knew about the instrument panel.  Uh, no, I didn't.  I don't normally stand behind my car while I'm driving it at night!

So, that was one more clue to look at.  I went to the parts store (in the daylight!) and got an assortment of fuses.  I haven't touched the car in a couple of weeks, since I've been sick (and too lazy to crawl around in the garage in the cold), but I finally got to it today.  I looked back at the manual and checked every fuse on the list that looked related to tail lights or running lights.
Nada.

Phooey.  Well, fine.  So I started at one end of the fuse panel, and began pulling each and every one and checking them.  Tada!  Found one burned out.  #39 on the panel.  10 amp.  Oooh, even have one of those.  Switched it out, turned on the key, turned on the brights.
Instrument lights!
Got out of the car.
Running lights!

Sweet.  So, what was the #39 fuse labeled?  "Light switch."  Now why that fuse blowing turns out the tail lights and the instrument panel, but not the head lights or any of the interior lights....who knows?  Whoever wrote the car manual must be related to the person who wired my house, where the workroom lights in the basement were labeled "Garage."

So, flush with my success, I'm going to go shopping tomorrow for the rest of the parts and see how far I can get changing out the plate lights.

Look out - woman with tools, and she's not afraid to use 'em!

Shopping, laundry, tidied the craft room, had my phone appt. with the Ticket to Work place, and found a pair of jeans that fit me at the the thrift store.  Hey. once in a while, miracles really do happen.  Jeans that fit, flatter, and only cost a few bucks are in that category!

I cleaned my half of the bedroom and moved things around so I can read in my glider in my room and watch TV.

Today I went t Barnes and Noble and spent Birthday gift cards. I bought a WWE magazine, Cyclops by Cussler,Dead REckoning by Mercedes LAckey and Rosemary Edgehill, and  Catalyst by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Scarborough.

I will take a pic of my library one day after I go through it.

We did a marathon shopping day (even visited the new Costco that opened up here). Did not get home until mid afternoon and still needed to eat lunch after that. Then I did several loads of laundry and worked on getting files ready for an audit from the state. They were going to come on Monday, but I will be in New York that day for a visit with my Lyme specialist. That gave me until Thursday. I am almost ready. There was a bunch of catching up to do since I had not been keeping up with them since getting sick in April.

 :shy;

The bad part is that all the files are electronic, but they needed them printed out! What a waste of paper and time..... Sheesh!

Now I'm doing my IV antibiotic treatment for the Lyme disease. After this post, I'm going to visit Pinterest..... time for some eye candy!

Hmmm....I accomplished NOT spending my usual hour on Pinterest today....  ;)  (I'm on under "beany" if you want to see how much time I've spent on it!)

I went to the big annual antique show - newly renamed the "Vintage Life" show this year, by some idiotic marketing "genius" - with my sister.  I saw a thousand things I wanted and didn't need.  I couldn't find what I actually was looking for though.  (Interesting coat hooks for my stairwell, and a more interesting pill box than the plastic thing I'm dragging around in my purse.)  We spent 4 hours looking - and bought absolutely nothing - but were highly entertained at finding out the value of all the crap we've kept or bought at thrift stores over the years.  I was very entertained to find that my $3 thrift-store hand-carved one-piece over-sized vintage rolling pin is worth about $75, give or take.  I just bought it because it looked like I could keep it handy for break-ins, instead of a base-ball bat.  ;D  (It's on display in my kitchen, just for fun.)

Then we went to a thrift store and found what we'd been looking for.   I bought 3 extremely battered hand trowels to drill holes in and hang in my stairwell with the handles up to hold coats and sweaters.  My sister found two darling ceramic bowls to use for new planters.  Total spent between the two of us was less than $8.

Of course, then we went to Flowerland and blew all the money we saved by not buying at the antique show.  My sister bought plants and potting soil.  I bought craft supplies from the Christmas clearance bins.  I did manage to skip the temptation of buying plants, though.  My cats have enough toys.   ::)
