Went to D and they used my new fistula. It worked like a charm! The swelling has finally started to go down and if all things go well, I should get my catheter out next week. Yay!

I put Christmas to bed for another year.  Cards down, decorations packed away and tree taped up into its box.  Now the house just looks empty.  Unfortunately I still have oodles of food left.  Humpf.  Fatty tum-tum.

Finally got my pictures printed for the school yearbook. Have put it off 2 weeks now.
Now need to take to school on monday

Got up early without an alarm, paid bills, got a haircut, went to laundry mat to wash the over-sized comforter that won't fit in my machine, grocery shopped, picked up prescriptions, went to the post office to mail a book for my swap site, cleaned the kitchen, reorganized my bookshelf to prepare for next semester, and took out the trash.  Enough!

I didn't do much today, except go to dialysis.  The apartment we thought we'd be moving into fell through, but they appear to have found us another place.  We can't move in there till March, though.  I've decided not to get my hopes up on this one either, just in case it falls through as well.  We drove by on the way to dialysis to take a look. It doesn't look like a bad place.  It's on a quiet street, which is different than the apartment we were going to get.  It's still walking distance to everything, so that's a plus.

I'm thinking I need to start going to a gym to build up my non-existent stamina. Today I woke up, took a shower, watched TV, then my big thing was I drove to the post office to mail a check!!! Whoo hoo!!! Then I drove back home, took a nap, gathered up a load of laundry (so hey, I am doing a chore) and am back to watching tv. I am over 5 weeks post-transplant.

Yesterday, I woke up early to drive to the hospital for my clinic visit. I had my stent removed first, then had the clinic visit. They gave me a shot of Aranesp, so hopefully, that will help. I then drove to a different hospital to meet up with my parents. I accidently brought home Dad's Christmas gift! So returned that to them, then headed towards home. I stopped off and had lunch, then went to visit my neph. He was happy to see me! (I'm not under his care until the transplant people release me). Then I killed time at a bookstore and went home.

I know, not too exciting, huh?

Little steps still get you where you are going!  I had to have Aranesp for a while after my transplant, too.  Then, *poof*, it hit 14 and hasn't budged since.  I love it!  Hope your kidney gets there too.

We got the ornaments off the tree, just have to take the lights off and haul it out to the curb. I am going to miss Fred (L named the tree this year.)

Gwyn made breakfast this morning - eggs, cheese, salsa, toast and bacon for them, veggie sausage (that I did not like) for me. We cleaned for a bit, then dropped the boys off at a friends and went to the tea room for a late lunch. Sat for over an hour eating and getting re-infusion after re-infusion, as normal. (Had Iron Goddess of Mercy this time). Gwyn dropped me off, hoovered our beyond-icky kitchen floor, then I got the steam cleaner out while he collected the boys. Our floor looks one million times better, and no revolting crunchy sound when we walk through the kitchen anymore.

Laundry, Aidan made dinner with just a touch of supervision ( x2) and we did a lot more of the puzzle of the crowned cranes that Santy gave us. I call Liot 'the puzzle genius' because since he was about 18 months old, he has been a prodigy at them, to the point that his teachers at the childrens centre who see dozens of kids a year for decades once told me they had never seen a child that young able to put a puzzle back together with quite the speed and intuitive sense of shape that he possesses. So, anyway Aidan and I were staring at this 500 piece puzzle, getting nowhere, Liot walks over, picks up a piece, places it immediately, Aidan and I both smack our foreheads, and Liot does it again. Finally all four of us were there, 3 of us shaking our heads in despair every few seconds as we hear Liot exclaiming 'I got a match' over and over and over. Aidan finally turned to Liot and muttered sarcastivally "Puzzle freak!" and Liot has claimed the term with pride. We watched Bug's Life on the video while the boys ate their mac n' cheese and ground beef and peas. Gwyn and I could not eat after the tea room. I finally decided to empty the laundry basket that has had a few items in it for what must have been weeks. Kids drawers are overflowing - time for an end of year charity drop tomorrow to unload all of the clothes that Liot has outgrown. (*blubber* My baby's already five!)

After being in bed with the flu I am feeling like I might venture toward eating something today.
My sister was here for a week from Wisconsin. I hate that I slept though our last day together, but she understood.

Yep.  I don't normally, but we're out all day Sunday and both Blokey and I are returning to work post-transplant on Tuesday (and for me it's a brand new job in a brand new place) so I didn't want to be faffing around doing it on Monday ...

Today I walked for a long time, realised I'd forgotten the post (the reason for my long walk) and thus went for another long walk to get it posted before final collection.  Then I slept all afternoon because I have a stinking cold.

Me too!  It's dinner time, and I'm still not even dressed!  I'm not going anywhere except from the computer to the armchair to read another book.  My rockin' New Year's Eve plans include going to bed before the ball drops.

I usually watch CNN on NYE.. I like watching Anderson Cooper.. *G*  I stay up till the ball drops usually.  They show people running in Central Park.  There's a NYE run that starts at midnight, I think, and they show the dropping of the transvestite somewhere in Florida, I think. They put her in a giant shoe and they lower it from the top of a hotel.

Breakfast with a friend, a three mile walk and a power nap.  Late dinner tonight in town with a friend.  Quiet night at a nice restaurant.  Can't believe this week (and the year) is over.  I was off from work and it went SO FAST.

I put the Christmas things away, did the grocery shopping and a couple of loads of laundry. It seems that whenever we go on a trip, there is so much to do when we get home.

We are spending a quiet New Year's Eve. I have been ruminating today about what life was like a year ago.

Yep, it was done.. Watched it on CNN... it was Key West, and the transvestite's name is Sushi.  They dropped a music note in Nashville too.

I'm surprised we actually stayed up until midnight (will have to curb this trend before we go back to school on Wednesday!  )

It has been a lazy day. I took a nice long pampering shower, had bacon and eggs for breakfast (a real treat!) and put a pot of bean soup on the stove to cook all day. My the house smells nice. I did my shoulder therapy exercises and s bit of cleaning. But mostly just enjoying the sense of having nothing pressing that HAS to be done.

Oy .......... I was out SOOOOOOOOOO LATE .....but it was a nice night.  So, thus far ..........NO,  I've accomplished nothing (except reading this board !).   It's now approaching 3PM,  so it's time to do some laundry, go take my walk (minimum 1 and 1/2 miles), do a little grocery shopping ..........and then MOURN that I have only one day left until I have to go back to work Tuesday !!  Actually,  it's been nice and relaxing being off .... but going back to work is actually a really good thing in itself to be accomplishing !!

LOTS!  Took Christmas down in my house, organized my two freezers and did a load of laundry. Not your everyday typical kind of stuff, but I feel as though I accomplished lots bigtime!

Yay for me.  Got everything done I wanted to today and it's not yet 8PM ........ now I may tackle cleaning up my place a little bit and then settle in for a relaxing bath.  I need to write a letter to a friend and get that into the mail as well, so perhaps I'll try to tackle that tonight too.

I got a 3+ mile walk in this afternoon while the sun was still shining. Todd, you inspired me! Tomorrow it is going to be cold again.

Not much today. Slept a bit late, we had breakfast (crepes) and I did some very light cleaning while Gwyn finished his packing. Drove Gwyn to the airport, took the kids to the co-op for a few essentials, had leftover pizza for dinner and finished the last of the second apple pie for dessert. Read a bit with the boys, going to give the little guy a shower and prep them for school tomorrow. Everyone will be surprised to see us as we did say we were going to all return to California together. We will follow G to California in a few days, so I have to pack up everything he forgot (first have to determine what those things are). The boys have decided that they would rather have an extra three days with their dad instead of returning home for the school-closing day where they would get to spend all day at the childrens center. This is the highest compliment that they can pay him.

Jim had the day off today so we tackled the Christmas decorations, turned the mattress, and did some general cleaning before settling in to watch "The Lake House" It was nice having my husband all to myself today.
