Yikes.  It's 1PM here and I haven't done much yet.  Phone call with a friend ..... got off to a late start by dragging myself out of bed around 10AM.   Time to get it in gear.  First, my 1.5 mile walk,  then a movie and some puttering around Barnes & Noble.   I went outside earlier for a moment and it was C.O.L.D.  It's now about 25 degrees,  but it's time to 'suck it up' and not waste the day.  Off I go.

Got to do *most* of my list, plus I got some grocery and "supply" shopping done (light bulbs, household widgets).  Caught up with another friend on a long phone call and still have time to clean up my apartment for about a half hour.  The only thing I didn't do was get *through* the movie (yes,  that's right .... I'll post the longer version under another thread),  but I went and didn't stay !  Oy.  I did actually also go to a Farmer's market that I like as well.   An AMISH farmer's market .... on a SUNDAY ...........uhhhhh,  not too smart !  HA.  Well,  I'll call it a productive day and leave it at that.  Considering I didn't get out the door until 1PM.   I got my walk in, so mission accomplished there.

So far, I've got my bed made and my house cleaned! I have some errands to run later (that I am NOT looking forward to since it is cold! The dog has been out to roll in the snow several times. He loves the snow but hates the rain! He is not my dog! LOL!

Up early, drove 100km in to town to open toyshop: am minding my sister's shop for a few days. Haven't worked here since November 2009 - amazing what a new kidney can do!! LOVE working in a toy shop!

I'm feeling rather mellow about what I've accomplished. I'm the secretary of a non-profit. We had a board meeting this morning followed by the annual business meeting. TWO sets of minutes. Each meeting lasted about 2 hours. WELL, I have finished typing up both sets of minutes. Yea! I also discovered that getting the minutes prepared takes about the same amount of time as taking them during the meetings. LOL.

Carl spent the afternoon cutting down a tree and trimming another one to make room in our yard to maneuver the new travel trailer that we bought. It is being delivered on Wednesday.  :2thumbsup;

I'm so excited!

Not much this weekend. It snowed a bit,  which means I had NO interest in really doing anything outside.  Did some grocery shopping Friday night.  After the snow, I got the mail, took out the trash.  Today I cleared off the car,  took a short drive to the drugstore and that was about it.  Spent my time indoors, relaxing and catching up with friends on the phone.  Now I'll head off and do some reading.  As far as I'm concerned, considering not wanting to deal with the weather,  I accomplished enough.

  We lived for the first 8 years of our marriage in a travel trailer then a fifth wheel. If you need any advice, just ask!   :rofl;  have you ever seen the movie, "The Long, Long Trailer"? It takes on a whole new meaning after living in one!   :rofl;   :rofl;  best of luck!

Oh, CebuSan!

For the first 6 years of our marriage we lived in a Spartan. It was very much like an AirStream. It was 45 feet long including the hitch. We loved it. The camper trailer we have now is only 17 feet long! It has been a joy to us for the last 6 years, but as we approach retirement we plan for more extensive travel over longer periods of time.

  Our first four was in a 20 foot (don't remember the name) then we bought a 40 foot fifth wheel (luxurious!). The Long, Long Trailer stars LucIelle Ball and DesI Arnaz.

Monthly Costco shopping completed! Even though I purchased two expensive cosmetics items, nearly everything I purchased was on special and my bill only came to a bit over $200. We have cheese to suit any taste now, quick and not-too-awful dinner options for the boys, and loads of snacks for their lunches.

This morning I finally was able to put a huge issue with the boys' school to rest. I was furious with Liot's teacher which is quite a feat on her part since I have all the sympathy in the world for teachers and have always taken their concerns seriously. La Directoria found me just in time and told me that she had resolved the issue. About flipping time, this goes back to December, but OK, it's done.

I have no classes today, so hope to catch up on cleaning and prepping for the semester. Still not caught up on sleep, but it's been several days with no diet Coke, just tea, and so far I have managed to keep my eyes open.

I'm just getting to grips with my new job and today I discovered that I can be confident and talk to seventeen year olds about their work.  They didn't bite my head off, nor did they snigger at me, and a couple even thanked me for helping them.

I think I need to lie down now; a lady can only take so much shock in one day ...

The internship this week - one mad bomber, two con artists, eight fraudulent doctors, eight hundred letters to fold, seal, stamp and mail in less than two hours, 20,000 victim statements to sort for a single case, and too many crazy people to count.  And an afternoon spent playing "Where's Attorney Ray?" - it's like Where's Waldo, but instead of striped hats, it's all striped ties and suit coats on the three floors worth of prosecuting attorneys. 
We found him in time to get the missing affidavits signed at court, so it's all good.

I love my job!

1986: kidney failure at 19 years old, cause unknown
PD for a year, in-centre haemo for 4 years
Transplant 1 lasted 21 years (Lucy: 1991 - 2012), failed due to Transplant glomerulopathy
5 weeks Haemo 2012
Transplant 2 (Maggie) installed Feb 13, 2013, returned to work June 17, 2013 average crea was 130, now is 140.
Infections in June / July, hospital 1-4 Aug for infections.

Over the years:  skin cancer; thyroidectomy, pneumonia; CMV; BK; 14 surgeries
Generally glossy and happy.

Today I was a glutton for punishment ..... dentist AND eye doctor .........and ended up working until 10PM to make up for the time away from work during the day (I love my manager who lets me "come and go" and make my own hours.   She knows I'll work as long as I have to to get the job done, so ....)
