Well, apparently Lovie said that the Bears weren't in the right formation...that's the official word.  By what I saw, I think one of the asst coaches saw Hester wandering around aimlessly and had Lovie call a time out because it looked like Hester didn't know what he was supposed to do next.  He isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer...

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - Like millions of other newspaper readers, John Mara had followed the media-fueled speculation about Tom Coughlin's future. To Mara, it was essentially a waste of newsprint, because Coughlin was staying right where he is. And he made sure to deliver that message to his head coach.

While so many others wondered what was in store for the Giants' head coach, Mara visited Coughlin and assured him he would return for an eighth season with the Giants.

Gary Kubiak is staying put in Houston but the defensive coaches are OUT.  Looks like Wade Phillips might be DC.

I admit, I am more a fair weather football fan, but I LOVE all the hoopla associated with it!  That said, yes, I will be rooting for the losingest team in the 2011 NFL playoffs on Saturday - The SEAHAWKS!!!!  You know what they say about ol' Qwest Field here in Seattle - it's the loudest nest in the NFL!!! I didn't watch Sunday's game, but I heard on the radio it was one of the LOUDEST games in the stadium's short history, so I expect nothing less come Saturday!  There have been some teams that come to play here that practice with loud cheering noises to help their team prepare.  The 12th Man LIVES ON!!!!!

Boy, is the NFL a soap opera or what??

Wade Phillips is the new DC for the Texans.  I remember Bum from the "Luv ya Blue" days.  OK, so I'm old.

And what in the world is wrong with Vince Young?  I can't believe that Bud Adams no longer wants him!  He LOVED that guy!  He says he's still evaluating the coaching staff...what's going to happen to Jeff Fisher?  I love Jeff Fisher!

Did y'all hear about Andrew Luck staying with Stanford to finish his senior year?  I don't follow college football, but when I heard the name "Luck", I thought surely he must be Oliver Luck's son.  OL played QB for the old Houston Oilers, and I think he did a stint as pres of the NFL's league in Europe.  Yep, he's Oliver's son.  And even more bizarre, I just found out today that Andrew Luck went to my old high school.

Anyone care to make predictions re playoffs/Super Bowl?

My best guess is that the Falcons are going to represent the NFC.  I think that the Steelers and the Patriots will battle for the AFC.  If I was forced to guess which one will win I would have to lean towards Brady.

Nope, the Bears are going to the Super Bowl because they have been the luckiest team this year.  Whoever they play in the divisional championship will have an QB on IR or some such thing, just you watch.  The opponent's plane will be stranded somewhere, or they will come down with food poisoning or God knows what.  But I think they will meet the Pats and will get beaten.

That's what everyone says each week, and then somehow they pull out a win.  I bet they'll end up playing the Saints, and the Saints will come up to Chicago and the temp will be a bazillion below zero and Drew Brees's fingers will fall off.  The Saints lost here in the playoffs the year the Bears went to the Super Bowl.  The Saints have just lost Ivory, so there's already a stroke of luck for the Bears.  It's well known that Michael Vick HATES the cold, so I see the same scenario should the Eagles come to town.

No playoff love for the Saints, Moosemom!!!  My 7-9 Seattle Seahawks showed them how to do it at the Hawk's Nest today!!  A major surprise WIN for all involved, and lots of cheers and hugs going on in the bar I was at!  GO SEAHAWKS!!!!  aka SEACHICKENS!!!  :rofl;

Oh, what a tremendous game!  They must be sick in NOLA!  I really thought the Seahawks would blow it...too many 3 and outs in the last quarter, but they hung on for dear life and pulled off one amazing upset!  Boy, was that fun to watch!!  Congrats!!

Bye bye Peyton!!  What's this personal thing between him and Rex Ryan?  The sportscasters kept alluding to it, and I don't understand it.

I haven't kept up with the games today, been busy but OMG, its Falcons vs. Pacjers and Bears vs. Seahawks next week. Whose going have an easy time and whose going to have a harder time? I know the Bears were very lucky in some of their wins but they are 11-5. Seahawks are 7-9 but I don't know if they lost those games buy a few points

I can tell you that those losses were pretty big ones! But - we (Seahawks) did beat "Da Bearz" in the regular season, Week 6, 23-20.  You can see their regular season record at http://www.seahawks.com - you'll need to scroll down a bit to see it, it's a bar from L to R that has the team icons on it.  We all have a bad case of Playoff Fever up here!   ;D

Hopefully the Seahawks can go all the way...  A championship in Seattle would be great.

Chicago weather forecast for Sunday....high of about 16 degrees with winds off the lake up to 28 mph.  It's gonna be brutal.

Well, I DO have my Seahawks blanket that I actually brought to the bar with me last week! Hey, it worked!

I may be going to the same place to watch this game.  We have a Boston's Pizza nearby, and they are opening early at 9am just for the game.  It's a great place to watch a game, and they have good food.  Who knows, maybe they'll offer a breakfast pizza?
