My thoughts are with you, Bill. I recently went through a period where I felt about as bad as I remember ever feeling, and I know are hard that can be. Hang in there...and I pray that you will start feeling better after surgery and that all goes well.

The surgery is Monday at 3PM. I'm using twitter to update people. You can go to the actual twitter page here https://twitter.com/BillPeckham or there is a twitter feed in the left hand column of my blog http://www.billpeckham.com/ and tweets now update my status on Facebook. A friend will tweet from my phone or I'll give her my log in information for the site for updates during and after the surgery which should be done by 6PM Seattle time.

When I took care of my Mom last year I wrote a Caring Bridge page for her friends to keep up to date about what was happening but I haven't felt like writing a day by day account. And really how many times can you say you're feeling like having a nap? But now that the action is picking up maybe I'll write more ... 140 characters at a time.

  I wish you all the best on Monday and  it's OK to take those "naps"  as long as you want !  You've done so much in keeping other advised with "Dialysis from the sharp end of the needle" and I trust that you will be back soon.

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges
