It appears almost certain that the company where my husband contracts is going to survive. My husband should be hired on as a full time employee within a week or two, we will get access to group health insurance, I can have a transplant without divorcing my husband and divesting myself of all of my assests. This is huge for us.

And it won't be just any job for Gwyn, this will be the most challenging job he has ever undertaken. The owner has offered a ridiculously low salary - the lowest salary my husband has ever earned in America and he has lived here almost 15 years - but if all goes well, he will make up for that in bonuses. I am so relieved. We have been strung along by this owner for over six months, but for the first time, I actually believe what this guy has been telling us

this is wonderful, WONDERFUL news! (Except for the low salary!) The boss isn't just stringing him along, is he?   :boxing;

I have been so worried about you and this job situation, and the insurance. Oh, my. I'm thrilled!  :2thumbsup;

 :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;

Yea!

This made my day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Aleta! I think this time the owner will do something because he really has no choice. He can go with a loan that is being offered to him, sell the company to a private equity firm (there is an open offer), or declare bankruptcy. Either of the first two choices will result in a job with benefits for Gwyn, and the backpay that we are still owed.

Thanks for your concern, and for being so happy for us. You are such a doll! (flowers, hugs, smiles)

My son Johnny has the next 5 days off school. Older brother James came home for a couple days. Tomorrow their sister Becca flies back from college in NY. I am so happy to have them all together. Only Jenna is missing. Hopefully she has a nice Thanksgiving with friends in Paris. I am grateful for my children.

I got up early this morning and got dressed up cos I was going to a renal get together thing for home dialysis patients.  Rand my mohter to tell her I wouldn't be there for my usual morning coffee, and realised that the thing started at 9.30 not nine, so I didn't need to rush after all.  As Molly was looking over my shoulder at the invite she said 'mum, it's not till the 1st Dec!'.  Talk about dialysis brain!  I had the wrong day entirely.  So I've not got the morning free - yay.

Galvo you and my mum are a pigeon pair! She LOVES her cricket. I can only watch one dayers, Tests get a bit long, my grandfater used to sit there the whole four days and hardley moved till it was over screaming at Merv!

Anyway my daily positive..... rested yesterday, downloaded heaps of new music for the ipod and back at it again tody. I've cleared a months worth of neglected household chores in 3 days!!! still got some washing to do but almost there! Go the EPO increase! Plus my fistula arm has grown about 1-1.5cm in width at the wrist so it's getting bigger slowly!!!!!!

To-day I shall sit in the big D chair and watch 4 hours of the first Test between Australia and the West Indies. Cricket, people, cricket!!

What a wonderful day this was. Really, I did not eat any more than I daily do, but I did have some of the best pumpkin pie ever. They melted butter, added brown sugar and some walnuts and topped the pie with it. OMG. We were able to sit outside, and it was delightful.

We had to get a new drier and the big box is in the living room.  Our youngest cat it leaping in and out of it.  Soooo cute.  There's also polystyrene pieces in it, and he's fascinated by them too.

That little guy brings so much joy to my life. Makes everything I go throu all worth it. Just to see that snotty nose get buried into my pant leg.  :rofl;

Yesterday, Alan went in to hospital have his line removed from his neck now that he has gone back on to CAPD, so I took the grandchildren in to Nottingham to see Santa. Our granddaughter is 8 going on 16 and my grandson is 10. and OK 10 seems a little old to still want to see Santa and still be a believer (unless he is having us on) but isn't that sweet. We had a lovely day, saw Santa went to McDonald's (crap food but they love it,I think its for the toy) had a browse in a couple of toy shops. It made my day and made me think about Christmas instead of kidney crap.

My one year grandson actually said something I understood yesterday, and it wasn't "mom" or "dad'. He was sitting my lap and looked up at me and said,my name so plainly. Suprised me.
