Funny, Dan. I woke up this morning and thought, "I'm alive and that is good."

I went out last night to a friend's 50th.  Great party.  I had a good time.  Even had a dance.  I wasn't the first to leave, but still managed to get home before I was completely exhausted.  Felt like a normal person.  Yay.

We spent the afternoon out in our boat catching squids (calamari when it is cooked)  It was so nice we didn't need to wear a coat.  We caught 150 squids.  We had a super time!!  So good to live in such a peaceful place!!

I saw an old college friend today in Ventura.  We had lunch and pie and Marie Callendars, then Victor and I went to a movie. We say The Time Travler's Wife. A neat movie.

marti824 it is always nice to spend time with your hubby. We spent Friday night cuddled up on the sofa watching a movie - first time in a long time.  Positive for today is I am listening to the rain pour from the sky. Don't fel so bad about staying inside to finish cleaning my bedroom and moving th furniture out.  Only thing that will be left in the room this afternoon is the bed and dialysis stuff!!  Everything else will be out until Tues night after the floor is done.  Positive thing about flood in the bedroom is our bedroom is now cleaned and we will have a new floor!!

I had a call today from my internet supplier (they also do the cable tv).  They just started offering digital cable with HD and offered me a bundle package. Internet will be 3x faster and I'll save loads from what I am paying BellTV for satellite service and my internet.  We'll save about $80 a month and the first 2 months will be free if I trade in one of my satellite receivers!!  That adds up to a lot in a year. For the same programming I am paying $136 for satellite. Internet costs me a little over $50 a month. I'm going to get both for about $100 a month!!  Now that's a positive!!

The new floor is installed in our bedroom.  They just have to come back to put the baseboards back on and reinstall the toilet. ( Hope I don't get up in my sleep tonight and forget there is no toilet!!)   :rofl;  Here are some pics before we put anything back.

Nice room and floors Del.

Today I finished my heparin shots in the belly and it's been one a day for three months following my deep vein thrombosis.  The doc ordered another blood test to see if I have ant genetic predisposition to developing clots.  Apparently about 10 % of white people  ( I actually think we're more pink than white but anyhow) have the predisposition for it.

My husband and I went to the open market today for lunch. I had a crepe and he had a crepe and tomato/peanut soup. I LOVE tomato/peanut soup but it had chicken in it, so none for me. We also purchased fresh, overripe tomatoes at a bargain so he can make more of his 'random veg' pasta sauce for me. We have the random veg, just not the tomatoes for the base. Oh, and also purchaed dill for egg salad.

We have a video from the lirbary to watch tonight (Truly Madly Deeply) but first Gwyn will finish watching the latest Indianna Jones with the boys.

I, too, had a really good day. I love to teach science to the younger students. But now my older ones are lobbying for science classes, too! So this afternoon I set up a self-directed science lab for them to do in teams. They are going to love it!

My new autistic student is just blossoming. His mom and dad are so thrilled. They have both cried for joy in my presence. And this kid is just amazing. He was deaf until 2 years ago and has never been in any kind of classroom before. Yesterday he was singing along in music! Oh my!

One of the joys of my day is e-mailing his parents about the new frontiers this child explores each day. Today he wanted to sit at lunch without a teacher nearby. Independence is growing in leaps and bounds.

And I had a good long swim this evening. Sigh. Contentment.
