I think all of us in the gulf coast, east coast or Florida agree with you.  I always keep hurricane supplies stocked.  A week without power makes you remember to plan ahead.    Our problem is all the trees.  The big oaks are always the first to fall. The tall pines sway almost in half.  After living in the mid-west and tornado season, I had to rethink storms when we moved to NC.

Never won anything in my life, but today things change.  I got a card in the mail stateing I've won a free prepaid cremation.  I just have to show up at a seminr by Neptune.

I joined a fitness club today.  My son told me about a deal they're having and I signed up.  Great rate and no contract.  If it's not raining cats and dogs tomorrow morning I am planning to start with swimming.  Actually, if it is raining cats and dogs, we can all go swimming.

Ahhh, beautiful, breezy weather, and a day spent at home goofing off.  My friend gave me a box of clay to play with, and said she would glaze and fire anything I made.  Playdoh for adults!

Daily positive - no wind at all yet from hurricane Bill!!!  Been raining (pouring) for about 4 hours!!!   We had a thunderstorm to start it all off.

I got all the floors mopped today.  I made an apple pie since supper and made cabbage rolls for supper tomorrow.

Well I did it!  I survived another year.  Today is my birthday.  Had a big family barbecue yesterday, the food was non stop and everyone had a wonderful time.

It is a beautiful day.  Hurricane Bill passed by last night and didn't have much of a punch.  We did have heavy rain and a thunderstorm but not much wind.  No reported damage anywhere in Newfoundland according to the news this morning!! I am now going to go outside and enjoy the beautiful day.  Have a good day everyone!!

Had a wonderful weekend. Last night when I got in the pool it was cloudy, but the sun was going down and finally got below the cloud layer. The sun shone on the tops of the trees, lighting them up with a warm glow. I just can't even describe the sense of peace that comes over me when I can see the sun sending its last rays into the leaves while I am in the dusky shade.

My new student (autistic spectrum and unable to hear human speech until 2 years ago) told me that I am "squishy" today. What a nice term for FAT!  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

Got a great laugh today as I was cleaning out my son's closet, looking through all his old drawings from when he was a toddler in daycare. There was one with a scribble on top, and then a more oblong shape drawn on the bottom. A teacher had written the following dictation underneath "Darth Vader before [top] and after he turns into a pumpkin pie, cause Darth Vader can turn into anything he wants."   :rofl;

He was almost 3 when he drew it, and deep into his Star Wars phase. Such memories!

that's a great memory Cariad!  I'm still amazed at my son's imagination, he comes up with the most unique and interesting things.  don't throw that picture away, treasure it.  they grow up too damn fast.

Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma.
By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis.
Changed to CAPD in April 2008.  Now on PD with a cycler.  Working very part time - teaching music.  Love it.  Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

I went out to supper with my hubby last night (without the kids... ooooooh)

The church are hosting a dance in the city hall tonight ... I have to work at the entrance... - its a good thing- it means we are getting out a bit.

Tomorrow the church is hosting a fete (bazaar,carnaval) - a big one- we are even closing the street in front of the church...-again- I am working..... but I am looking forward to it. Wish us well--- the church needs the money.

My positive is myself and hubby got the garage cleaned out enough today that you can finally get in there without tripping over things!!!  I also have our bedroom walls almost all cleaned (this has been ongoing all week) !!  I just took a carrot cake out of the oven as well. Going to make cream cheese icing in a little while!!

I had my last Spanish tutoring session today - my tutor is pursuing her ph.d in another state. Sad to say goodbye, but she has asked me to write to her, in Spanish, about el transplante. I am flattered that she cares, and that she is willing to wade through my broken Spanish to hear the story.

Beautiful, cool sunshiny day after the rains last night.  A day that reminded me how much I missed having coffee on the deck in the mornings.  First time I'd been on the back deck since I first accepted I was going to start dialysis last April.  After getting started, it was then unbearably hot for the rest of the summer.

Daily positive:  I think I'm alive and well and living in the heart of Houston.  I'm outside (and boy does this need work -- overgrown) and one more week with the cathether.  Oh god, I am alive.  And I can get this patio area back into shape by Christmas...
