The hummingbirds have made it to my back yard and the racoons and dear didn't destroy any bird feeders last night. That made hubby very happy.

Getting the heck out of town.

« Reply #553 on: May 31, 2009, 05:17:05 PM »

I worked out back yesterday and today until it got too hot.  Two huge hummingbird trees in full bloom and the hummingbirds stay in the front.  The like to chase the butterflies away from those little pintas.  God I got old.  I'm turning into  my parents.

I turned into my mother years ago. I heard her voice coming out of MY mouth and about freaked out!  :rofl;

The older my mom gets, the more we all see my grandmother's face and actions in her.

And, then, I saw a picture from my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party last summer, and I said, "I don't remember that Mom had on the same outfit I did that day!"  But, alas, that wasn't Mom in the picture -- it was me.  Yes, I've definitely turned into my mother -- and, in twenty years, I'll be my grandmother.

I accidently put my head on my left arms during the night.  I woke to this weird sound like a washing maching turned or something.  Eventually I realized it was my fistala.  It's alive.

Went to the thrombosis clinic today (no, that's not the daily positive because obviously I'd rather not have the need to go...) and am very pleased that instead of taking coumadin which would require blood work twice a week, they're having me give myself a sub-cutaneous shot of low molecular heparin every morning.  Blood work will be my regular weekly one and the big positive is that during my nephew and niece's visit which starts on Friday I won't have any extra hospital trips imposed.

Can't garden or dig or lift anything heavy for a while however which, in my world, is definitely a negative because I like playing around in dirt as much as almost anything I can think of.

Had a great time at the National Parks Screening. Ken Burns was NOT there, but his co-writer, Dayton Duncan was. Also the superintendents of five or so National Parks. It was really, really cool. The series will being airing on PBS September 27.

Best part: It was FREE!
