Jackson is more west TN than me. I am near Knoxville. Actually live about a mile from the Knoxville airport.

But my positive for today is that the Texas rain STILL hasn't made it here! (It's in middle TN, though!)

I finally got the nurses to listen to us patients about being freezing cold today! They now have to keep it at 72 degrees instead of the constant frigid temps they had it at before. I got so fed up today because the AC was on and it was barely 50 degrees outside!! I just kept complaining until the director finally did something about it! And the rearranged things so I could sit on the warmer side of the room!   :bandance;  Sssshhh...It's a secret, but I really wanted to be moved there because that's where my favorite  nurse is!   ;D

padd gets the Big Stick Award for the day!

And AC when it's 50 out is ridiculous.  My new little center sets the temp at 75 - where the patients are comfortable!  (But then, it's northern Michigan - if they are warm, they can just step out the door for a minute!)

Despite my constant companion in the form of an IV pump for antibiotic delivery, tonight I am going to cook a Thai chicken ginger stirfry with shiitake mushrooms, sugar snaps, onions, garlic, green onions, coriander and garnished with home done dry roasted cashew nuts (no salt).   Sauce will be a combo of oyster sauce (less sodium than soy sauce) chili sauce and sesame oil.  We'll have it over steamed jasmine rice and also have a mixed green salad because we eat salad every night.
For dessert I'm going to mix low-fat berry yogurt with unsweetened berry Fruitsations applesauce and semi-freeze it.

The positives part of all this is that a week ago I was still on a clear liquid diet and had severe gas pains from surgery and morphine.  I was walking the halls of the hospital, crying and holding my belly in desperate attempts to restart my bowels and felt like a cow with colic.  Today, I feel great and grateful too.  My appetite is pushing me to create something filling but healthy and I have the energy to actually do it.  This is all good.

It is a beautiful day here!!!  Chilly but beautiful.  I made it thought the day with my Grade 2's and they were "wild" today!!!   Going to a card making party tonight.

My class was wild today, too! Even some of the kids who "never" act up! sigh.

End of the year energy!!! :Kit n Stik;

But a dad who works at Rubbermaid cam in with a truckload of seconds. Yea!!!! We got so many I packed some up for other small schools in the area. (Like hundreds of Sharpies!) Woo Hoo!  :2thumbsup;

Aleta how fun!  My daughter got a hold of a black sharpie and wrote all over her brothers face a while back. It was funny, but my poor baby had to have black marker on his face for like 2 weeks.

My fistulagram today was quick, relatively painless, and totally uneventful.  Love it when things go according to plan!

Thanks to a friend's thoughtful husband who remembered what I've been doing for crafts lately, I got a call today from an interior designer who is moving her office.  I made arrangements to stop next week and pick up all of her expired fabric samples.  I can use them to make even more purses and tote bags.  With free materials, I can sell them at a great profit!  Free is my favorite price!

I have a BIG positive that I just have to share with you, my friends.  2 years ago, just after Dad started dialysis, it was announced that a new hospital is to be built only 5 miles away, he currently travels 30 miles each way to dialysis - so we began a campaign to get dialysis facilities at the new hospital.  We didn't expect to get them but if you don't ask............well today it has been announced that there will be 4 dialysis machines at the new hospital due for completion in 2011.   :2thumbsup;

Now that may not be within Dad's lifetime, we hope and pray it is, but it is giving him something to live for. I am absolutely ecstatic  :bandance; The small people have had their voices heard  :clap;
