Hey, come on, there must be someone else out there with something positive happening this week!

Mine -
Made $125 selling clutter and books at a flea market.  Whooo-hoooo - empty cupboards and full pockets!  $20 of that came from the taxidermy bobcat that my FIL was going to throw out.  I wasn't even sure I could sell the gruesome, fuzzy thing, and it was gone before I even had all the boxes of stuff out of the car.  Too funny!

Someone sent me a mystery envelope with no return address that contained only a 50 dollar bill.  Between that and the money I made at the flea market, I was able to take advantage of a number of soon to expire coupons and offers at the local grocery store.  I ended up with $160 worth of groceries for $101. Not too shabby for a few minutes a week spent clipping coupons, plus I now have a cupboard full of staples to tide me over during the skinny months when my money has to go for emergencies instead of groceries.

A friend brought me dinner and flowers when she stopped by to have me mend a dress.  I have lovely purple tulips blooming on my coffee table.

And, it's been warm, sunny, and lovely!

My positives for today are that it's sunny and beautiful outside and is supposed to stay that way through to the weekend.Maybe while mom is in D tomorrow,I'll get to get out and take a walk.And the big one for me,I only have today through Saturday to wear my heart monitor,and then I get to take it off for good !!! :bandance; :bandance;

Making a big pot of split pea soup today and also a new recipe...Okonomiyaki...a type of savoury pancake, crispy on the outside and made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage and leeks and a bit of japanese dashi (fish stock), then topped with toasted almonds and chives.  If it seems a tad dry I'll add a dollop of dashi seasoned yogurt.

While I cook I like to listen to BBC podcasts on philosophy, history or culture.

Tomorrow school closes for Easter vacation.  It reopens on April 12 but I have an appt for a mammogram that day so I go back on April 13!!  Hubby says his mom doesn't seem to be nearly as confused today so hopefully all the confusion was being caused by the infection!!

7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.

First day back at the gym today after 9 days off due to nasty cold.  Cooking Thai Green Curry Chicken with steamed rice and mango salad with toasted raw cashews for dinner and listening to a radio program about Socrates.  Sent husband to do all shopping for the weekend...life is feeling good and I've taken note of the feeling.  :thumbup;

It is amazing how much better MIL is doing since she started antibiotics on Monday. She is really starting to come back to her old self.  I am off for Easter vacation. School reopens on April 12!!

But my positives, I have had a good week at work, so far.  The kids are cooperating with the writing of an Ode (Poem). They seem to like the probability experiments we have been doing this week and are getting the vocabulary concepts.

Another beautiful 20 degree celcius day!!  Lots of snow has melted today. I have a new clothesline today - first time in 2 years!!   I have clothes blowing on the line now!!  The clothes is going to smelll so good.

It's pouring rain.  Normally I wouldn't consider that a positive, but it is today, especially for all the local firefighters who have been battling an endless series of grass fires during this dry, dry spring.

I was invited to go with my son and his family, and daughter and her family to the Easter Egg hunt downtown today. It is a fun event, last for hours and the kids all had so much fun. There were thousands of people there.  I told all the grands to remember it wasn't a contest and to watch for the little guys so everyone found some eggs.  Well, no one told the other kids to play nice!!  Eliza got knocked down and punched in the eye. A big boy took an egg right out of Paxton's hand.  After round one, only 3 of the 6 kids had any eggs.  We stayed for two more rounds of hunting. It was the same each time.  I didn't realize egg hunting was a tackle sport!   :rofl;    But, they all had fun together and after the hunt the Easter story was read, so they were reminded of why we where there.  Tomorrow will be a good day with most of my kids and grands sitting with us at church.  And then we will have our own (civilized!) egg hunt and about 20 for dinner.  The grands are having their lemonade stand tomorrow --- they have lots of chocolate ribbons, Eiffel Towers, and crowns to sell for the Kidney Foundation.   I hope everyone else has a great day, too.

Happy Birthday, Sunny!  Each birthday is a great day!!

And congratulations Topaz!  A new kidney!! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Spent a fun day thrifting with a friend.  Came home with lots of good books and useful stuff, and still didn't spend more than 10 dollars.  Ahhh, the thrill of the bargain hunt!
