I had such a good screening yesterday - it was, I don't know, fun??!! Gwyn and I had all of about 3 hours sleep for the day, but last night I was in bed by 11PM and got over 8 hours sleep (this is a miracle for me).

Our friends who have their own little kids took the boys home with them yesterday, as we were stuck in Chicago until 6:15. I was so worried at how Liot would react to this change in plans, especially since I forgot to warn him that it was happening. When we went to pick the boys up, one of our friends pulled us aside and said "Elliot is just the sweetest kid. He ran up to me and hugged me!" Gwyn and I just stared at this friend blankly like he was speaking a foreign language, and then said in unison: "Our Elliot?" :rofl;

Such a positive day yesterday. I still feel physically tired, yet emotionally energized.

My DP for today is, I am currently all caught up on the income tax clients. That happens, I get slammed, and then get done, all at once. So now, I have the weekend " off" and can go and work in the yard.

      My 16 monthbold grandson had his tear duct unblocked and his sinsuses "cleaned out" this morning and is back to normal and home.   :2thumbsup; :clap; :yahoo;  No matter what els happens today, he's ok and that's all that matters to me.

I really wanted to respond to all the positive message I got from people the past couple of days but I am now limited to 2 message per hour.  It might take a while.  Just in case I don't get back to it, take you so much.  I needed that.

Well my positive is that our 5 inches of snow yesterday is mostly gone today.  Georgians just cannot drive or even walk in snow.  My oldest grandson slede into a side ditch coming home from work.  Last night he was home but the truck was not.  Tonight all of us are safe at home including the truck.  That sure is my positive for the day.

There is nothing falling from the sky today!!!  It is cloudy but very mild for February. It is +4 celcius today as well. It is Valentine's Day and hubby's sister and I are cooking Chinese food and we are going to her house for supper. I am dong Chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce and she is doing rice. We will have a few other things as well. Not sure what yet!! 

And it's Valentine's Day and I get to spend all day with my True Love  :cuddle; :guitar: :yahoo; :2thumbsup;

I think I may be coming up out of the darkness of depression. I've had a bad week, and hopefully having an extra day off this weekend will be enough to help me take another step up. Snow forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow. I would prefer that we have snow when we could take a day off from school... :bow;

I'll take what I can get, though.

Aleta, I hope that depression leaves you alone! I'm so happy that you're starting to feel brighter. I also get more down in the winter, one of the reasons I wanted to return to California.

Today we took the kids to meet a team of sled dogs. They are both crazy for animals, and the people who ran the place were very nice. We took a short ride around a field with the dogs pulling us along. Then some of the dogs needed a break, and this beautiful white dog (a husky?) lay down on its back and let my kids pet it. It was cold, but beautifully sunny out there. It was a perfect, low-key event to attend after those Neupogen shots. :cheer:

Bad news for the day - Gram has shingles.  Good news - she actually voluntarily agreed to go see a doc about it.  Better news - I've already had chickenpox, and you can't catch shingles from someone!  ( I had to look that up to make sure.)

Yesterday's positive - the local library has the DVD of the new Wallace and Gromit.  Cheeeeeeessseeeee!  (This one is about bread, though!)

Hope your gram isn't too sick with the shingles they can be really bad. My MIL had them a couple of years ago. We had to ask about catching them too.  Apparently anyone who hasn't had chicken pox can catch chicken pox from them but shingles themselves aren't contagious. They are caused by the chicken pox virus being left in some nerves in your body!!

Oh, Jbeany!

You CAN get shingles if you have had chickenpox.

We had a lovely day today. After our book club we went out to eat with friends. There are usually a rather large crowd, but tonight just 4 of us. It was so nice to spend that time with them.

On the down side, learned that a friend has breast cancer.  :'(

Yes, but it is caused by the remains of the virus in your own body, just like del said.  I can't catch shingles from my grandmother.  I had to look that up to make sure, because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to take care of her if she was contagious to me.  Someone with shingles can give a person chickenpox if they haven't had it before, but they can't actually pass on the shingles themselves.  Those are caused by a reactivation of the virus in your own system, most commonly caused simply by aging.  Gram is 92, and her health is failing, so that's why she's ended up with shingles.  If I get them, it will be because of my immunosuppresants, not my grandmother's case.

Aleta, sorry about your friend.  I will pray they can find a course of treatment to help.  It is a scary diagnosis.  There seems to be so much cancer now.   :pray;

Some days it is hard to find the positives.   Mine just might be that Valentine's candy is 75% off today!     :2thumbsup;

I shop the same way. Candy is candy and my GKs don't care what color it is! Got M&Ms for $.50 and they were the big bags.

I went back to work (school ) today for the first time in 5 weeks. Had a good day. The substitute that was in for me (bless her heart) had todays and tomorrows plans all done for me!!!  She is filling in for me again tomorrow!!  Hubby has an appt with the neph and of course I am going as well!!  Have a few questions to ask!!

Great minds and tummies think alike.  I stocked my freezer with sale chocolate on Monday as well! A well stocked freezer is a thing of beauty, especially when it's stocked with hershey kisses.   I had to go to town for blood work anyhow, so I hit all the special sales this week - with coupons and buy one, get one deals, I got $70 worth of groceries for $4o bucks.  Pity they don't double coupons much anymore - it would have been nearly free!

Hubby saw a nephrologist today and everything is going really well.  :2thumbsup; :yahoo; He was really pleased with his blood work results.  This is the first time he has seen this nephrologist and he really likes him.  Hubby has been stressing himself out over this parathyroid scan that another neph ordered .  This guy couldn't understand why it was even ordered!!  Hubby parathyroid is 800 and this neph said they don't do scans unless they are planning to do surgery and surgery will not be done until a last resort.  Sensipar would be used first!!  He explained all this to us and is going to discuss the reasoning for the scan with the other neph. Needles to say hubby is not going to have the scan done!!!
